I can't understand why you'd play this on console.

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:35 am

I fail to see why you would come to the conclusion that he got his TV for free.

Let me guess, a console gamer?

No where in his post did he state that, or are you simply running out of dull come backs that you now have little or no option but to twist what people have written?

Because, genius, saying that "console costs $150 so it's much cheaper" is complete nonsense as you also need a TV to use it. Especially since console gamers oh-so-love to brag about how big their TVs are*, they should include the cost of the TV in the comparison if they want it to make it remotely accurate.

* - which is also complete nonsense, because yes, your screen is bigger but you're sitting further away so it has same effect as sitting closer to a smaller screen. Learn to trigonometry, you lemons.

No need to explain. Too many PC gamers think that consoles are somehow "unworthy". I know. I used to be one of them, but at the end of the day... it's simpler, it's less hassle, and it tends to just work. If you're time poor, and just want to fire up a game for an hour or so of fun, consoles are IT! Whilst sometimes I think of making another gaming machine, and linking it to a 360 controller, I have to think to myself... is it worth it? Sure, you can get mods on a lot of games, but when you break it down to $$$ spent per game... oy, it usually works out to be a lot of money.

Nothing against PC gamers - go nuts boys, but in general, the whole "I play on PC so I am teh bettrs is just stoopid.

Oh, and my 67" TV says "hello baby" when I walk in the door.

Good points and agree with you.
I find it funny as i`m also someone who gamed predominantly on PC most of their life but always had some kind of console like SNES, N64 or Original Xbox etc. hell, Morrowind was first bought for my xbox :D

There has been so many "why play on console" threads. Most are just downright predjudice towards consoles from silly people, but I digress, what is hard to understand why people like to play this game on a console? It looks beautiful and plays a dream, unless you are unlucky enough to have a technical fault....but then CTD`s can mar it on the PC.

Really depends on how close he is sitting to his TV genius.

...you have it in your head that you having a PC actually matters. Do you have these conversations with friends, family or work colleagues?
Exactly.

No one cares about this stuff except for a handful of people who need to use forums like this as an outlet to achieve some sort of perceived "elite" status.

It doesn't work, no one cares, it's just sad.

So I don't have to deal with Draconian Steamworks.

What's Steamworks?

I have a laptop PC only. The only reason I have that is for doing bills and such.

I have had the same XBOX 360 since it came out. Haven't had to upgrade it even once. I use it for Zune, video games, and as my music player through my awesome surround sound system.

What's not to love.

You keep swinging blindly like that and you're going to break something bro. How close can you sit to at 50" TV before you can't even see the entire screen and start noticing pixels the size of fists?

If you have a laptop, you're hardly a "PC gamer".

Of course a tv has no other uses other than playing games on. You're obviously getting upset as you are now hurling petty insults at people, with no real reason to do so, mate. Seriously, you should put the whole console v PC thing into some perspective and see it for what it is - trivial. I apologise for upsetting you.

You can sit close enough so that you still have a noticeable bigger screen then if you would sit close to a PC screen.

Well, seeing as I can have terrific fun with TES without mods I don't see the reason for buying an expensive computer.

Your argument assumes pc gamers don't own or watch tvs for, you know, tv. A television is standard in most homes, why include the price in a comparison?

Yeah, mate, and I'm the Duke of York. It's not as if you're posting anything original, after all, these topics get posted on a daily basis with the sole intention of baiting others because somehow people like you have it in your head that you having a PC actually matters. Do you have these conversations with friends, family or work colleagues?

I like console because I can chill out and talk to my friends on XBL while playing. And I'm not one who cares for mods. They're cool, but mods always make games feel gimmicky to me.

Because I like making people ask.

I have an Xbox, it is my platform of choice. I enjoy playing it, I have a library of games and Skyrim is now one of them. I have a semi-decent PC and I still choose my Xbox. If I'm lazy I can bundle up in bed and play on my TV, things are just simple and entertaining. Mods are great and all but I never used them with Morrowind or Oblivion on PC.
(except for ones to remove the underwear layer)

Plus if I had access to console commands, I'd more than likely abuse them. This way, I can't cheat my way out of any jam. I know of most exploits and I choose not to use them in-game. I like playing these games vanilla, no reason to muck everything up just yet.

When the game is old as the hills, has a GOTY version with all the DLC, THEN I'll get it on PC just to play mods and goof off, having already dominated the game as it was meant to be played.

bcs, you really need to go outside and get some fresh air for 5 mins. It's a discussion about TV's, PC's and consoles ffs! We're not talking world affairs here, calm down. That said, you have provided some entertainment for some of my work colleagues with your inability to put things into perspective.

Anyhoo, i have to get back to work. I hope you guys continue to have a ball.

But...you've sat here on every PC vs Console topic and just had a go at people. I don't care if you play on a PC or a console, and I hate it when people have a go at others just for playing on a console. But the same applies the other way, I also hate it when you have a go at PC users calling them sad and that they need to go and get some fresh air. It's quite hypocritical saying that when all you seem to do is the same.

I first bought this on PC (steam download) and Ive got a great comp so it was all maxed out. A week later i also bought it for xbox ( i like to have bethesda awesome games available to me on both formats).

There is no "motion sickness" on xbox and I prefer it over my comp. Also I sit alot better in my comfy recliner chair+the tv monitor is so huge and nice. Ofc i could get cables and connect the PC to a control, and to the TV but i cba. Nah i prefer the xbox for this title.

This is coming from a pc gamer that has played for more than 20+ years, and is a huge fan of fallout etc.

Dont be so quick to judge. If you traded places with me i bet you would also choose the comfy and no motion sickness...

Motion sickness? Interesting. I wonder if it's from the FPS fluctuation maybe? Xbox is capped at 20-30 and PC is anywhere from 20-60.
