I can't understand why you'd play this on console.

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:41 am

But...you've sat here on every PC vs Console topic and just had a go at people. I don't care if you play on a PC or a console, and I hate it when people have a go at others just for playing on a console. But the same applies the other way, I also hate it when you have a go at PC users calling them sad and that they need to go and get some fresh air. It's quite hypocritical saying that when all you seem to do is the same.

Mate, i would be more worried if i discriminated against someone based on their skin colour, beliefs etc. Posting some inane remark based solely on someone's choice of electrical equipment really isn't anything to get yer Daisy Dukes in a twist over. It's a luxury based on choice and as such, i wouldn't expect anyone to take it to heart. There are far more important things in life to get upset over.

sprawled out on the floor with the wireless controler comfortably against big pillows and my girlfriends legs wrapped around me while she reads/surfs from her ipad.

i retired from pc gaming about 3yrs ago. Not into the mods anymore and stuff. My pc can handle the game but mouse and keyboard is better for MMOs.

1.3 runs fine great for me. 1.2 was horrible, 1.1 was best. Im hesistant cautious for 1.4.

And I'm not, like I said I don't care. But you seem to. From your signature, which I think is ridiculous, to the tone of your posts, it seems to be "anyone who cares about what they buy electronically is sad" and a kind of vendetta against anyone who enjoys that kind thing. You might like fishing. Someone else might like reading. Others like gaming on a console, others on a PC. Just because they have an interest in PCs and gaming doesn't mean you can have a go at them.

This kind of topic is getting very old, very quickly. I'm sure most people didn't rush out and buy a console JUST for Skyrim! You generally buy games for what you already have, so the $$$ debate is really null and void.

I first played Morrowind on XBOX, and Oblivion on 360. Now have a PS3, played Oblivion on that too, and didn't like it too much. Saved up for a bit, then got a nice shiny PC to play Skyrim. I'm lucky enough to be able to spend $2000 on a PC, and more on a HDTV. (being single does have some advantages). I still have my PS3, and play exclusive titles on that.

If you don't like the 'consolisation' of gaming, don't blame the people that own them, rather just accept the fact that this is the way the industry is going, for now. Never forget that gaming is still a relatively new industry, and thus will go through changes.

People like what they like. Doesn't make anyone superior/inferior. Live and let live.

Your argument assumes pc gamers don't own or watch tvs for, you know, tv. A television is standard in most homes, why include the price in a comparison?

A computer is also standard in most homes, meaning that the keyboard, mouse and monitor should not be included in the cost of a new PC; failing that, the use of a TV is not exclusive to consoles.. Even if you didn't have a desktop PC before, using the TV means you only need the peripherals of a wireless mouse and keyboard.

You can sit close enough so that you still have a noticeable bigger screen then if you would sit close to a PC screen.
But then it looks much worse. Console games are meant to be played from far away so you can't see the lack of detail compared to 1080p+ PC resolution and other higher details.

I play it on consoles because of convenience and the social aspect. I can't imagine my girlfriend would tolerate me playing the games if I was sat at a computer. Playing on a sofa with friends round is also an enjoyable gaming experience. Add to the fact I'm at university, just an expense I can't be dealing with.

In the future I fully intend in buying a gaming PC however until then the pick up and play ease of a console fits my lifestyle.

I only own a laptop and the only games I own is L4D and KOTOR.

This is a reply to the OP's almost flame bait topic.

More importantly why does anyone care how others play Skyrim? Some play on consoles, some on PCs, that's it, end of!

I like how every console gamer says "but I can play on my tv while I sit on the couch." you can do that very easily on the PC also. HDMI + 360 controller that's all you need.

but you are forgetting that you need a couch. This is often the most trickiest part of the process. Do you get the 2 seater or the 3?

Why does it matter to you? I have a PC capable of running Skyrim but I choose to play on XBox. I have no need to explain my reasons in doing this to you and neither does anyone else!

I don't have a couch and therefore I am forced - yes ladies & gentlemen forced - to play Skyrim on a PC.

I mostly play PC games because my cadre of friends who are gamers have been playing them with me for over ten years now in various iterations. I also find the community of XBL to be lackluster, and with my aforementioned friends being on PC, finding sensible partners to play games with is a waste of time in my experience.

PCs aren't expensive if you do the homework and build your own. There is always a cusp of bleeding edge that you can ride behind and yet maintain performance superior to consoles. It's been that way for a while now. They are vastly more customizable and they will ultimately be what gaming comes back to after its love affair with underpowered convenience-boxes that have taken the world by storm. You didn't think gaming was always going to be by controller...or MP&K for that matter, did you?
