can you please make dual wield visable?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 7:07 pm

I have no idea why this isnt an issue? You have 2 swords yet only one shows up on the character? My character just pulls the other sword out of thin air? How can something like this not be seen before release or fixed yet?

Same with a magic staff. It just pop out of thin air, and dissapear when you sheath it.

Thats pretty bad for todays standards of gaming.

I agree it's pretty lazy. Hopefully a modder will remedy the situation soon. There's already a sheath mod out for greatswords so dual wielding can't be far behind.

Agreed its such a shame to go to all the trouble of improving 3rd person when your gear doesnt show up, even the animation for drawing/summoning two weapons is also horrid.
As for staff, it would have been nice to have walked with in when not attacking and two have put it on your back when sheathed, insted it pops in/out and your forced to walk around like a crazyed wheb you do have it drawn.

It does? Even when you holster the weapons? If true, then it seems like a bug and not intentional. Can anyone confirm this?

No, it doesn't. Offhand weapon is never displayed when sheathed.

Your kidding...
All it takes is to basically turn the game on to answer that. You really don't have to do anything.

I'm not able to launch the game right now. But the picture above shows that this is probably just a bug and not intentional... atleast that's the way it looks. So then this needs to be reported as a bug then.

I don't think it's a bug. If the character had the animation of reaching to sheath or to unsheath the weapon, I might think otherwise. The same for staves. There is no character animation for the character reaching behind him for the staff.

EDIT : The bug is that the picture shows the Sword and Dagger at the same time. Not the other way around.

Actually yes it is, put a sword and a dagger on, then get naked and put. A helmet on, now tell me it doesn't work?

Yes it does as the axe is sheathed on the right side of the player and the knife on the left, This does not happen every time but I have had this happen a few time.

So you are saying use a glitch to force a glitch?

This is a shame, along with the fact that you draw your weapon more than once in some situations. How can you unsheath a weapon that is already unsheathed? Bethesda found a way! It's called bad scripting.

I think to make that possible. The Skeleton has to be changed, you would have to add a bone for the other weapon to show up. Also a new animation? how should that look like? drawing a sword with the left hand from the left side is a bit hard. Cross draw might work but would look kinda silly.

Not to mention that almost every weapon clips with every kind of clothing/armor when sheated.

Doubtful. It didn't work 100% of times for me.

This^

The fact that it does work on a rare occasion is the bug. No script, no animation, no bug.

There is magic in this game, the very act of pulling out the sword from thin air, to me is magical lol. So I'm not complaining here, when I see things that are farfetched I refer back to the magical world of Skyrim.

I have a live rainbow dragon in the yard. I would show you if I had a camera. And you don't believe me only because 100% of the time you've seen exactly zero rainbow dragons.

And when I see things like this I refer back to the real world where games with a lower budget than this game, like dragon age, are able to pull off showing 2 swords on a character yet skyrim "the best game ever made" just can't seem to grasp the concept. I'm not saying that this is a huge game breaking issue, because it's not, but to not only ignore it and act as if it doesnt even exist, but to defend it is beyond insanity. This isnt 1995. Dual wielding has been done before and if it cant be "fixed" then it should atleast be explained as to why the dev team chose to go in the direction of "magical swords just pop out of thin air because we're too lazy to code it the right way".

You know what? I dont care. For some reason Bethesda has a huge problem with dual wielding. It just cant exist the way it should. They couldnt do it in Fallout 3 or New Vegas. They couldnt do it in Morrowind or Oblivion. And they couldnt do it right in skyrim. Im just going to act as if dual wielding doesnt even exist like ive been doing since morrowind. Im used to it with Bethesda.
