can you please make dual wield visable?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:20 am

I'd Imagine both swords could be worn on the same hip(left currently). Right arm draws the first sword properly and the left draws it with pommel pointing outwards and swinging it arround once the blade is clear of the sheath. It seems there is already a bug which allows you to see 2 weapons on your left hip so would only realy need a propper animatiopn. Buuut im no expert at this so just an idea :)

Not sure if this is relevant, but I think my game actually glitched, and I ended up with dual wield Staves of Magnus. :D Eat this, mages!

When I started playing these games we were estatic when they replaced the letter D with a small static icon to represent a dragon. Games were fun back then too. All this graphics realism doesn't make them any more fun.

@VirusType2

Well a Pistol or Revolver is no sword with a long blade.
It doesn't matter if the blades are 100 miles long, friend. They don't intersect if you cross draw from the waist. I've only got one sword, but I just grabbed two 4' flourescent lightbulbs, and it's easy to do, and easy to prove. Try yourself with a mop handle or something.

The fact that it does work on a rare occasion is the bug. No script, no animation, no bug.

Wow, even the bugs do better work than Bethesda

I have no idea why this isnt an issue? You have 2 swords yet only one shows up on the character? My character just pulls the other sword out of thin air? How can something like this not be seen before release or fixed yet?

Yeah because Nirn weapons = / = Earth weapons, grow up and stop being such a crybaby OP.

Isnt that the usual response the [censored] give when somebody has a legitimate problem with the game?

Edit: Wow really devoted fan is a swear? who'd a thunk it?

Not impossible no. But if the people say the sword comes from nowhere. Just think if you make cross unsheath. It will be clipping at some points, thats not the best solution afterall. Also it would need a lot of work and i don't know if anyone will do it because is it really that game breaking?

I think you're getting too technical and picky, It isn't OK to see clipping and I don't like it most times, but 2h warriors can sit down in chairs with the 2H weapons sheathed, clipping through the chairs. Like the vid I gave from DA:O. Your complaint is that injurious possibilities and implausible body functions make it seem unreal, yet the video makes it look natural and movements normal. Again, "suspension of disbelief". Here you want the ability to see where the second sword in a dual-wielding role as displayed on the body, yet complain (through my example as I wasn't talking about the mechanics, just the looks) that any sheathing of dual-swords by any location on the body makes it injurious or implausible. So, which do you want? Because if you don't like the implausible ideas, then only having one visible is the way to go. Sounds to me like you're having a bout with cognitive dissonance.

I gotta admit Bethesda has always been lazy about showing the weapons and gear. Skryim is the worst since Morrowind. Hopefully somebdoy can make a sheath, shield, and staff mod. Several were made for Morrowind. Atleast in Oblivion u saw the staff.

Same with a magic staff. It just pop out of thin air, and dissapear when you sheath it.

Thats pretty bad for todays standards of gaming.

I totally agree. I really wish my staff would be shown on my mages back. They had it in Oblviion. At least for this one you really can say " A wizard did it".

We shouldnt have to rely on the modding community for something that should be standard in a game of this size. We need to continue to bring up this issue until Bethesda fixes their own game. Like I said this isnt 1995. Dual wielding has been done before it's really nothing special or hard to code in. There is no excuse for these kind of shortcuts to be taken on a game of this size and budget.

I endorse this!!! I REALLY hate how my DW orc doesn't show both weapons!

They don't need to add new animations....just make it so the weapon appears in your hand, he doesn't need to grab for it.

i personally play a khajiit and use a war axe in the right hand and dagger in the left and play in third person and really wish this was a part of the game just because it would make you look different because you chose to dual weid and not be a sword and sheild warrior

Wouldn't know which used two swords. In european medieval it was common to use a shield and a sword or the Longsword. The Saracen were known for using two sabres, the they were not as heavy as an european sword.

Well however BTT:
Maybe the swords in Skyrim are forged in a super light way. At least if it comes to unsheath dual weapons it would look weird all the time.

This is a bit after medieval times, but in the renaissance, it was common to use a dagger for parrying. It's not exactly duel wielding, but close enough.

I don't know any japanese examples, but offhand weapons are prominent in Filipino martial arts (and prominent in their historical conflicts too).

I believe that is the "Main Gauche". Rapier + Main Gauche

Musashi Miyamoto was a famous samurai and duelist who used a very rare technique of one sword in each hand

I like to have both a sword and a knife equiped and I've notice that when the animation decides to kick in that both the sword and the knife are on my right hip but thats it nothing else shows up i.e. sword or axe.It only seems to kick in on a quazi-regular basis when I have both a knife and a sword equiped.

I think its becuase dual wield was added LATER to the game and thus it seems it is still missing a few things

but worry not I'm sure Bethesda will get around to fixing this or mods will do it

at any rate it will be resolved :P
