) and I suspect a bus would control the throughput to the CPU and GPU so I don't know that they could be burned out unless the environmental temperature was abnormal. Hopefully someone who knows more about the hardware engineering will come along. I seem to recall reading posts in other sections of this forum (Bugs maybe) where people said that games run on them can't cause hardware issues. 

I still got the very first xbox, and a xbox 360 elite and now I'm running on the new xbox slim 250gb. The only one out of the bunch that gave me issues was the elite but I did a lot of traveling with that one and I think I broke the power pack ( power cord ) ended up getting 3 orange lights which means a power supply problem.

my buddy has been on the same elite since it's release, wasn't there a remake of the elite due to tech. issues when it was first released? Anyway, hope your newest one is working fine
I really didn't do anything special on my end of things, just hooked it up and walked away, no cleaning, no maintenance, no nothing just played games
