Could the Enclave be back?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:05 am

I try not to take it personally. Here is the thing, for all intensive purposes the Enclave were "Destroyed" in the West. It's word play. The people in the west saw Enclave patrols and Enclave vertibirds. They heared about them taking people. One day there was a big nuclear blast off the coast from where they came from. The Enclave remnantes pack up and leave. Now if you were a wastelander in the West and you saw the nuclear bast in the days after you notice no more patrols or any other Enclave activity but what's left moving East. What word would you use? I would use the word Destroyed.

I would say they left.

I would use Moved, and it will take them years to come back. :celebration:

You notice them, you hear of them. Big nuclear blast and you no longer hear of them or see them. I would think they were Destroyed. Over time they would become tribal/urban legend. "President" becomes a Boogeyman.

That would mean you see them leave, so not destroyed.

It's word play. Not everyone would see them leave. The vast majority of the people in the west would just notice one day that they are no longer around. They would have noticed a big nuclear blast and no more Enclave around. Plus word of the Chosen One would get around the same way the Vault Dweller's story got around. On the West Coast they are gone. It's been confirmed that they will not be a faction in New Vegas (maybe as remnant group of Ex-Enclave).

I am sorry to say this to all the Enclave Fanatics out there but the Enclave are no more in the West. I have made it as clear as possible using FO2 info and FO3 info and alot of Logic. The only thing I am getting back is something along the line of "but they can't be gone they are so awesome, they have to be in New Vegas "

I know I should not argue with fanatics but someone has to try.

haha you didn't take that personally I hope :o . I dont mind people saying FO3 doesn't count, because it really does, It IS a Fallout game.

FO2's ending states that the Enclave was destroyed (Not moved, but destroyed). But they appear in FO3. That means the ending was wrong (i'll use that word instead of invalidated).

Cheers,
Mk II

All this says is that Bethesda didn't do their homework.

All this says is that Bethesda didn't do their homework.

If their central hub (the rig, and their leader) were vaporized ~as we saw happen in the end... then the Enclave is destroyed. Any remnant Enclave members would scatter and try to hide their past allegiance for fear of retribution. Some would keep their equipment; fewer still could actually maintain that equipment, and ALL surviving Enclave remnant troops would be pushing 62. The Enclave was reduced to stragglers... They would recruit mutants to rebuild their ranks?

IMO they should not exist in the future series except as relics and references ~They should not exist in FO3.... but accepting that they do, it can be made plausible so long as they are no longer in the West where the term 'President' is synonymous with 'Boogey-Man' and the Enclave forces were destroyed.

Spoiler
Given the history... You'd assume that all NV Factions would put aside their fights to obliterate them again should any Enclave troops ever return.
I cannot envision anyone tolerating them as a local faction. They are like Storm Troopers with no Deathstar and no back up... They'd all get lynched.

Seriously, this is getting old. Fallout 3 is a fallout game wether you choose to accept this or not. :slap:

I didn't mean it like that I meant Fallout fans in general, (All fallout fans, even one's that only like one game). :frog:
