I am no big lore buff but with a quick google search and looking on the Skyrim wiki it would seem to be implying that the Snow Prince was "owned" by a child

I will say this once more, you don't have to travel through time to get to the Dawn Era, at least as far as the Nords are concerned. It's not the start of a world, it's the end of the last (and by association, the end of this) one. The Nords would like to guard against the dawn, keeping the world as it is, and themselves alive. The Thalmor would like to guard against the dawn by breaking the wheel and preventing any possibility of new Kalpas.

Finally someone gets it. The Thalmor want to end the world to return to the Dawn, which means the death of all non-mer. The player character doesn't want this, so you fight against it. Or you do want it and you fight with them.

Unless the Snow Prince is a Volkihar vampire, and he is still alive, it is possible. Or maybe Lamae Beolfag has something to do with him and the snow elves.

This has probably been mentioned but what if the Thalmor are exploiting time disruptions to travel back in time to help the Snow Elves beat the humans from Atmora, thus wiping man from history. Maybe the Dragonborn goes back to and helps the 500 Companions. Just a thought.

Perhaps the Snow Prince had heirs? And the prince, along with a handful of other Snow Elves were not corrupted by the Dwemer. If he was a prince, maybe he demanded better food than fungi, or perhaps the Dwemer fed him better, actually being a prince and all.

While I must admit you have quite an unique take on what the name could mean I do find it quite a stretch to believe that the DLC involves traveling back in time to help Ysgramor wipe out the snow elves, also an even bigger stretch to believe that the DLC could involve the Thalmor trying to return the world to be like it was during the Dawn era, unless of course you have new information that I am unaware of?
