Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #27

Didn't the fourth era started once Martin Septim died and the Oblivion Crisis was over?

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Fourth_Era
darn...i must have over read that part, this is the sight where i got my info from, i guess i just over read this part. Thanks for pointing this out. So this means that there is like 205 or some odd years inbetween Morrowind and Skyrim. So...not nearly as much as 1000 years, but still two centuries, which is a nice chunk of change ya know.

.......................all hope is gone now...
4E 5-6---Red Mountain erupts; Vvardenfell is destroyed.
In Vivec's absence, the Ministry of Truth becomes unstable. Vuhon creates an Ingenium that uses at first dozens of dying souls, then a small number of living ones to stabilize the rock. The soul of Sul's wife Ilzheven was among them. In a fight to free her, the Ingenium is destroyed and the rock crashes into the city of Vivec with all the energy it originally had. The impact causes Red Mountain to erupt and destroys the entire island of Vvardenfell as well as causing massive destruction to the rest of the province. The Argonians then invade southern Morrowind after the eruption of Red Mountain and destroy House Telvanni http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Fourth_Era

DARN YOU BETHESDA!!!!!....................well...you could still do something with this. Bring your player back to Morrowind and allow them to explore the ruins of everything. We know Bethesda is good at post destruction scenarios (Fallout 3, Rage) so they could easily pull it off.

  • It's about vampires
  • Those are crossbow bolts
  • The Dawnguard is a joinable vampire hunting cult
  • It's takes place in a reigon known as Velothis, western Morrowind
You heard it here first folks.

If you are proven correct, I will start referring to you as "The Prophet". :D

BTW; I hope you're correct, but that we get to do more than hunt Vampires. Make a "flip-side" to that where we can infect certain types of people with Vampirism. lol

If indeed crossbow bolts are involved then I for one will be quite excited.
They've always struck me as being "dirtier" than conventional bows, which is appealing. :D

If thats true would be awesome! I love secret factions, hunting evil things.

I love secret factions as well. But having an alternate one set up to be the opposite of the Dawnguard (if the idea turns out to be true) where you join the side of the Vampires would be just as sweet. :D

First, great Avatar.
Second, I'd love to go back to Morrowind. My fav towns are from that game. Balmora was so great. I remember spending probobly a dozen hours there before going and getting the infamous Dwemer puzzle box.
Now, is this speculation, or based on some sort of evidence?
Thanks.

It sounds good, and as much as I don't care about vampires, I just love everything involving Morrowind.
Too good to be true but who knows...

I would very much like some more lighter looking armour. That is to say, armour that fits in with the sneaking type. Right now the only ones that fit that description are guild ones. Elven, Glass etc. are still quite bulky looking.

You are not the first to post this Werewolf&Vampire posted something like this a few days ago in another thread, it is the Werewolves and Skyrim Gamejam Discussion pt 2.

So you should call Werewolf&Vampire the prophet since he posted it first. And I agree with you, I hope we can infect people with Vampirism too, I have wanted that since Morrowind.

I just checked the topic and it was proven to be a fake.

Too bad...

So when we hunt down the new, improved master vampire, does he have a treasure chest with a crossbow and horse armor?

I fervently hope the DLC isn't so painfully boring.......

I would not mind Vampires in the DLC, but a hole DLC on it? I just feel it world be very short, or similar to The Knights of the Nine. When I really want it to be more of a scale with Shivering Isles, and a good way to do that might be to go to Morrowind and maybe fight that Argonian invasion?

So, is that whole "fighting vampires and going to morrowind" thing all fake? That's dissapointing haha. Well, among other things, I want to see some more cool altmer characters. I feel like altmer-lovers got the short end of the stick in this game, mostly because the vast majority of high elves are jerks. I'd love to see some people other than the thalmor from the aldmeri dominion. Ones who are trying to get their freedom back from those insane fascists. Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix that glitch with the first person camera! If you make an altmer and go into first person mode, the camera comes out of your chest and it looks like everyone is at eye level with you or taller than you. It's so annoying that I have to ignore first person mode on my high elf because of how broken it is!

I would love to speculate around some REAL info. As it is now, this is quicky changing into a post count booster and a spammers haven... I mean, I don't mind but really? 27 topics overall and already 11 about Dawnguard, yet we still know nothing about it. Just imagine what will happen after 20 more days...

I don't see why you kids are so excited about crossbows, you'll probably just shoot yourself in the knee with one.

Well, the big reveal on the DLC is going to happen at E3 which is from june 5th - 7th. Then Bethesda said that it would be released this summer, so I'd say anywhere between end-of-June to August.

**Possible Spoilers**

Well, since we are taking jabs in the dark here, here's my jab in the dark.

I was looking at Kotaku, and they had an article about the about "This Skyrim statue holds a secret."

While it had nothing to do with the DLC, it had everything to do with Alduin. If you notice, the picture of the Dragonborn had red eyes...so does Alduin (in all the pictures I was looking up, plus that statue that dragon has red eyes).
Maybe they are now linked or something; I dunno. Pure speculation on my part.

Maybe it's just something simple...like vampires. Heh.

I didn't read through the 6+ threads on this, or this thread. If this was mentioned, then sorry.

The hidden secret is the fact that it is made of fondant and used on a birthday cake lol.
