I bet the reason they havent announcec anything for it because of this:
(guy #1) Man, people keep complaining about not having any DLC, what're we gonna do guys?
(guy#2) I dont know, they wont let us put any of the other stuff that we created in there, I have an idea, lets announce a DLC package, and just sit on the forums and See WHAT people want, and possibly add that in there!

At least thats what I would do. Cant go wrong if you look at the things people actually want... which for the most part, things like economy, mounts, more weapons and armor, smarter followers, and some added perk trees seem to be the biggest complaints all over the forums. I'm just excited they're doing anything at all, givin this MMO nonsense their working on.

Okay, so they can do whatever they want with the Dawnguard expansion, I'm just glad that there's going to be even more to do in this world. I haven't even finished playing all of Skyrim yet as far as side quests are concerned. What I really want to see though, is Bethesda go back to where it basically took video games, and turned it into art. The game that stole my heart, and 22 of the 24 hours of my day for multiple days in a row for years at a time. Morrowind, people...Morrowind. I don't know how many of you have played The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, but that is still one of the greatest Elder Scrolls game to date. Skyrim is tied with it because you can dual wield weapons, and Skyrim has the best animation and most balanced game play and the greatest way of leveling up I've ever seen. But, Morrowind has some of the greatest environments ever, some of the richest characters who have useful and fun dialogue. AND, Morrowinds story is to this very day the greatest story line in a video game that I've played ever. It's an old fashion story, and it's been done before, for sure. But it's fun to play, it's long and challenging, and upon completing it there's such a thrill of satisfaction that's never been duplicated since. Beating Oblivion, and watching the statue of Akatosh form where Martin once stood didn't supply the same amount of satisfaction. Looking out at the sky (though beautiful) whilst Alduin was finally conquered didn't supply the same amount of satisfaction. Nothing has been as satisfying as Morrowinds game ending. Finally uniting all the house factions, and all the tribes to attack one foe. revealing the truth about the temple, and how twisted politics and religious radicals going on a power trip have shaped the history of the island of Vvardenfell for so many years. Then exploring the blighted base of Red Mountain in search for the artifacts necessary to defeat the main boss, Dagoth Ur. THEN, actually beating the main boss, Dagoth Ur, and watching as the giant machine he's been building for the past years crumbles and falls into the lake of lava at the base of the volcano, and being visited by the daedric goddess, Azura, to claim your prize as the Nerevarine, hero of Vvardenfell!

And now, here sits Bethesda, with the opportunity to make Elder Scrolls veterans squeal with joy. How many years have passed since the story of Morrowinds main quest occurred? Since Morrowind took place in 3E 427-3E 432, then in 3E 433 is when the Oblivion story line begins. Skyrims story line happens in 4E 201. So, since Morrowind (3E 427) to the end of Skyrim (4E 201), assuming that every Era goes 1000 years and assuming I understand the way the Tamriel calendar works, there has been a 774 year passing period of changes on Vvardenfell. That provides so much room for creativity with what they do. I'm not talking about doing a prequal to Skyrim, but something that takes place after the events of Skyrim, on the island of Vvardenfell with all the changes that nearly 1000 years provides. It's known that the city of Vivec has sunk, the Nerevarine has left Tamriel to go to Akivir, and that the house wars still rage on. With those three things, all you need is a villian with a motive, and you've got your main quest, and multiple side quests.

Maybe you can try and join together the Mages Guild and the Telvanni wizards to rebuild the city of Vivec, bring it out of the water and rebuild it. Or pit the houses against each other in political warfare on who owns what land and products. There’s the good old Fighters Guild quests, the Dark Brotherhood, the Mages Guild quests, and Thieves Guild Quests. Then, being on the island of Vvardenfell opens up the quest lines for the Morag Tong, the Commona Tong, and quite a few more. Ashland tribes probably still exists, maybe they’ve evolved! What if the Ashland tribes, rather than being in tents, traveled by stilt striders. Imagine, giant bug like creatures walking about large ashlands with tribal darkelves shooting arrows at you as you ride on the back of a Guar with however you attack people (be it arrow, sword, magic, spear, knife, ect.). I think that Bethesda returning to Vvardenfell opens so much for a game/DLC, it’s not even funny. And with the power that we have now with the new engines Bethesda use and the running capabilities of the next generation of console there’s absolutely nothing stopping them from creating the entire country of Morrowind available to the player, Vvardenfell, Solstheim, and the main land too.

I think that returning to Morrowind for a game, or if anything, one wicked massive DLC, is probably one of the greatest things Bethesda could do for its players. How many of us have spent countless hours playing Morrowind? And how awesome would it be to revisit that land with all the changes that time has done to it?
I actually did read this, and I'd have to agree. In fact I had morrowind for the xbox, and I still play it on pc when I take breaks from skyrim, I've put years and years and years into playing morrowind, and you know what? I've never actually even played the main storyline. Every time I'd play the game I would spend months playing a character, and usually (unless I wanted a specific special Item) never did the same thing twice. I love skyrim, and this DID I just discovered here on the forums has been a breathe of fresh air for me, but the fact still remains, the first 20 levels or so always go the same way. I've done all of the primary quest lines with the exception of the daedric artifacts, cuz lets face it. who gives a [censored]. by the time your lvl 25, you can make things that are better than any daedric weapon or armor you can get. I miss being able to make my own spells. I miss being a monk (which is actually possible on skyrim, but its best to wait till you max enchanting) I love both games, but here, 10 years or so after after I got morrowind, theres still a ton of things, like the main story line, that I havent even bothered to do.

Bonus, When you get the gloves of the pugilist, you can disenchant them, put the enchantment on your amulet, ring, gloves, and boots If im not mistaken (I didnt because my save was broken and had 4-5 dragons constantly flying around me) and when you sneak attack someone you kill them commando style

I must admit I am curious how you manage 22 of 24 hours for days in a row for years. You must be exhausted. Get some sleep.

LOL. Anyway, as for Dawnguard, I hope we get a well-written story and some changes to mechanics as well. It would be great if new skills and perks were introduced. Skyrim needs depth, badly. If this DLC is taking so long because it's adding depth, then I'm all for it.

Agree. Much of Skyrim feels a bit rushed and incomplete. So hopefully the DLC will help remedy this.

One thing that I absolutely loved about morrowind the number one thing...was getting my own stronghold!! When I first found that out I got so so so excited!! I spent so much time and effort making my first stronghold which was the telvanni tower and I loved it!! I decorated the place so much I put blue and red lanterns all over the ceilings, I decorated the walls with powerful artifacts, I bought slaves to scrub my floors I mean I loved that so much! And I dont understand why they switched to houses instead of an actual stronghold in oblivion (despite the fact they came out with a fighter stronghold and other related products) it just didnt feel right. The best house was really cool in that game and its less so in Skyrim. If I want to play a good rpg I should have my own home that I can sort of customize and decorate to my hearts content.

Please bring back the strongholds I miss them so...

I suspect a return to morrowind would be a very heavy task for bethesda. Consider especially the expectations of previous players. It would be quite challenging - perhaps impossibly so - to meet or beat such expectations.

To the person who posted this thread: I thought I'd post another list of ideas for upcoming dlc's in skyrim and I also decided to repost my old list along with explanations on what people may be confused about. Enjoy!!

- New and better assassins armor (top priority)
- Have a "become a flying vampire lord" power or a werewolf lord
- Edit the crime punishment like maybe have a death warrant for killing the emperor and if so you need to have a disguise to avoid attention in the city.
- Bring in vampire and werewolf perks
- Bring back hardcoe mode and have eating animations
- Skyrim mod and map builder for 360 ( even though I know its not going to happen lol )
- I'd like to know more about the dwemer
- Need vampire guild and werewolf guild (maybe at war with eachother?)
- Add more continuating guild quests like the random quests you get when you finish a guild questline I'd like to see more of that.
- have little elven children running around
- A very long and very challenging dungeon (like the mehrunes razor dungeon from oblivion that was fun and I miss it!!)
- Travel to one of the other province's
- Be able to wear and enchant the queen barenziah helmet
- Join the Thalmor and conquer skyrim
- More enchantment effects like weapons on fire
- Have hand to hand skill perk tree
- Have people hate you for being a bad guy or love you for being a good guy
- Conquer something in the dlc like expand the empire or stormcloak territory
- Own a keep, castle, or stronghold instead of a house
- Another "blackreach"
- Add claw weapons
- Make sure to bring in crossbows
- Have an evil ending or good ending to every quest in dlc
- Get a wizards tower, thieves den, or assassins hideout
- Catch thieves breaking into your house and kill them
- Super-fast dagger duel-wielding attacks ( the power attacks currently are way too slow which doesnt make sense considering their daggers)
- Change the vampires up, make it to where the hungrier you get the weaker you become
- Add grenades for alchemy (what I mean by this is to be able to throw aoe poisons or potions like from dragon age) and put in smoke bombs too to disorient those annoying archers
- Ability to set traps aside from runes
- More sneak kill animations like stabbing the back of their head with my dagger
- Daedric ruins
- Join a new guild
- Bring back ALL the artifacts from previous games along with making up some new ones (assassin artifacts yo!!)
- Werebears sound pretty cool even though I might not play one. I love my vampiric assassin too much :)
- Bring in like multiple orders or unjoinable organizations that you can anger and have them try to hunt you down or help them!
- Bring in marriage mates for my Khajiit assassin :)
- Bring in new spells or edit the current ones like for example when your conjuration is at 100 you can summon multiple low level creatures and this number decreases the more powerful the creature
- Encounter werewolves in the wilderness (idk if you really can but I have never gotten ambushed by a werewolf before)
- Turn your wife into a vampire
- Have a Co-op
- bring in a dlc multiplayer

- Bring back the daedroth, summon ghosts, and the Xivilai.
- Be able to edit the layer of your armor like add spikes and sprint into enemies
- Bring in body tattoos or tattoo stylists

- Have cool objects fly around your character like flying skulls or maybe little red marbles for decorative purposes
- Have encounters where you tackle many low level enemies for higher level characters

So, any new info on Dawnguard?

Not sure if trolling or really REALLY devoted fan, little too much hyperbole there to the point that it is borderline parody.

my thoughts on danielmitchell's post. green= in-game. yellow= not ingame, i want it, my ideas on it. red= not possible :(
[spoiler]
To the person who posted this thread: I thought I'd post another list of ideas for upcoming dlc's in skyrim and I also decided to repost my old list along with explanations on what people may be confused about. Enjoy!!

- Edit the crime punishment like maybe have a death warrant for killing the emperor and if so you need to have a disguise to avoid attention in the city.
- Bring in vampire and werewolf perks must. have. lycan. perk. tree
- Bring back hardcoe mode and have eating animations om nom nom
- I'd like to know more about the dwemer
- Need vampire guild and werewolf guild (maybe at war with eachother?) the companions are the werewolf guild
- Add more continuating guild quests like the random quests you get when you finish a guild questline I'd like to see more of that.
- have little elven children running around pfft, elves don't have... Erissa, what are those noises coming from your bedroom? and why is the door locked?
- A very long and very challenging dungeon (like the mehrunes razor dungeon from oblivion that was fun and I miss it!!) heck yeah!
- Travel to one of the other province's WAY too much work for bethesda
- More enchantment effects like weapons on fire already implemented, but a flaming effect would be cool, not just lighting enemies on fire
- Have people hate you for being a bad guy or love you for being a good guy relationships with individuals? if a character spots you doing something wrong, the relationship goes down a bit. be good to them, they like you more. kinda like sims 3?
- Own a keep, castle, or stronghold instead of a house
- Another "blackreach"
- Add claw weapons
- Make sure to bring in crossbows
- Have an evil ending or good ending to every quest in dlc not all quests, but a few more good choices would be nice
- Get a wizards tower, thieves den, or assassins hideout
- Super-fast dagger duel-wielding attacks ( the power attacks currently are way too slow which doesnt make sense considering their daggers)
- Change the vampires up, make it to where the hungrier you get the weaker you become
- Add grenades for alchemy (what I mean by this is to be able to throw aoe poisons or potions like from dragon age) and put in smoke bombs too to disorient those annoying archers
- Ability to set traps aside from runes
- Daedric ruins
- Join a new guild
- Bring back ALL the artifacts from previous games along with making up some new ones (assassin artifacts yo!!)
- Werebears sound pretty cool even though I might not play one. I love my vampiric assassin too much
- Bring in like multiple orders or unjoinable organizations that you can anger and have them try to hunt you down or help them!
- Have a Co-op one is the dovahkiin, one is the follower, no muultiplayeer, but a 2player co-op could work..
- Be able to edit the layer of your armor like add spikes and sprint into enemies
- Be able to fly or have flying mounts dragons!
- Have encounters where you tackle many low level enemies for higher level characters
- bring environment effects like burn down trees, make huge craters in the ground with fireballs, or freeze water with ice dunno if this will be possible, since it would involve a lot of changes to how cells are made
- bring in new spells this is a must.

Hope you enjoyed reading these!!

I suspect a return to morrowind would be a very heavy task for bethesda. Consider especially the expectations of previous players. It would be quite challenging - perhaps impossibly so - to meet or beat such expectations.

i don't think so at all! i mean, sure, it would definitely prove challenging to one up all that they've done, and in a place that they've been before, but like i said in my post (which has uber small font for some reason, sorry guys) there's been enough change over the years in this world they've created to open up so many new options to pick up and run with. I believe that Bethesda could pull it off.

sorry everyone for my post having such small font. I'm not going to repost it, because it's kind of a long post. Just zoom in on your computer page "ctrl +". Thanks for the feedback though, i'm not trolling, just a devoted fan. Morrowind was pretty much my only friend from 4th to 9th grade.
