Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #27

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:12 am

so basically the house dlcs of oblivion but more interesting i wouldnt object to that...if i can live in a dwemer ruin.

Anywhere, to a certain extent, would be accessable to rebuild or to live in. Well for my DLC idea. But you get to pick one place...

And you could have all your little dwemer toys to attack any intruders...

hmm.. maybe an option to select which people who are attacked on sight if they enter? =p

oh and I didn't get that DLC so I have no idea what they are like =/

i also like the idea with the forts because i have a huge amount of gold with nothing to really spend it on, i mean i already of all my gear that i want and use, its all already enchanted, i own all the available houses and all fully furnished with out that glitch all my maniquens are decked out with rare armor, all my weapons racks of full of rare armor i mean ive got a mother[censored]in butterfly in a charge AND that other bug that glows in a jar like a mother[censored]in boss chea...still lookin for the bee though. :ermm:

Edit - ONLYaUNCfan i agree, thats why i said it would be nice to add more because i would so use it

I know I was just trying to sell my idea to those thread creepers :)

Yes I agree with your added deatils Slyme.

Although the whole "accidents" from archietect shortcutting might be a bit too far for me. =p
Well, I don't mean like continuous potential accidents, but say you hire the cheap laborers. They cut costs and you end up with some flooding. This ruins some store stocks and now prices go up and they have less money with which to make purchases. The incentive for the player is that it costs them less to set up, but they charge the same rent for shop owners. Say proper construction costs X dollars, cheap construction costs X/2 dollars, and you collect Y rent per month. You, personally, come out richer at the expense of the town and it's businesses. This supports the "Bad Guy" role while making it actually meaningful rather than just an outlet for you to be a dike to people.

OH! I like the idea. I thought you meant continuous accidents (well I like the idea, but maybe monthly or randomly)

No hate, but you just made my day xD. That is by far one of the weirdest requests I heard . +50 points awarded to TheLastBen.

 *bows

The Dovahkiin has to want to farm every once in a while. It only makes sense.

I think it would be nice if we could get extra stats from wearing matching set (yeah we got perk for that) but what I mean is ...lets say every 2 parts of matching set you gain stats. For instance wearing 2 parts of dragon bone set you gain +10 to stamina/damage/health points or w/e. Also I would really love to see more items that are actually good around dungeons... at some point when you craft full legendary armor you lose sense on exploring and tbh that always made me reroll ;(.

EDIT: You sure seem to have better ideas than I do when it comes to these things. You should also be able to earn income though. When someone wants to open up a market inside your area, they should pay like 500 gold every game day. And the guards should be pretty cheap. Probably around 10 gold a day.

This is a pretty cool idea. If you are a vampire, you should have the option to have other vampires patrolling and what not instead of soldiers though. Actually a vampire faction type thing that you can join would be pretty cool, as it would give depth to playing as a vampire.

Well we have the same general idea. Despite whether Bethesda has time or not (only read that 1st post after yours) is a dumb idea.

If we, the people who play the game, ask and keep suggesting something... well it tends to be added in some fashion.

we need to collaberate on this fort idea

Here's something that occurred to me while I was walking round my town yesterday.

If the Snow Prince is coming back to lead the Falmar, then...

Spoiler
He is gonna be super pissed at the Thieves Guild for stealing the "Eyes of the Falmar." If this is the case, then we'll very likely be called upon to defend Nightingale Hall, the Shrine of Nocturnal, and no doubt the Guild itself. I, for one, am pumped if that is the case, I love the Thieves Guild and would love for there to be more stuff to do with them!

I actually like the farm idea, lol. Gives me a very Harvest Moon-y vibe.

Another thought: Pigs. I'd like to see pigs in the update. There's also no sheep in Skyrim, is there? I want to terrorize all livestock equally. I'm always killing cows and goats (but HEAVEN FORBID NOT CHICKENS) so sheep and pigs need to be terrorized too.

Oh, right, the leaked files! Has anyone confirmed whether these things are really going to be part of the dlc yet?

No one can confirm it here - apart from developers of course - but the fact that these files are there could means that these features will be probably part of this -or another future dlc  its a clear indication of some of the future contents

Dear BGS, whatever the hell you put in, and whenever the hell you tell us about it, please spare a thought for the poor mages trying to compete with smithed-up-the-ying-yangs sword/board/heavy armour guys and sneak archers, with such a teensy tiny little selection of spell tomes and effects. In some ways it just isn't quite so much fun anymore, even though in other ways it is better. Just saying, thanks.

Here is my wishlist for the new skyrim dlc. Btw, this is for ALL future dlc's not just dawnguard so hope you consider putting these in future dlc packs: - New and better assassins armor (top priority) - Have a "become a flying vampire lord" power or a werewolf lord - Edit the crime punishment like maybe have a death warrant for killing the emperor and if so you need to have a disguise to avoid attention in the city. - Bring in vampire and werewolf perks - Bring back hardcoe mode and have eating animations - Skyrim mod and map builder for 360 ( even though I know its not going to happen lol ) - I'd like to know more about the dwemer - Need vampire guild and werewolf guild (maybe at war with eachother?) - Add more continuating guild quests like the random quests you get when you finish a guild questline I'd like to see more of that. - have little elven children running around - A very long and very challenging dungeon - Travel to one of the other province's - Be able to wear and enchant the queen barenziah helmet - Join the Thalmor and conquer skyrim - More enchantment effects like weapons on fire - Have hand to hand skill perk tree - Have people hate you for being a bad guy or love you for being a good guy - Conquer something in the dlc like expand the empire or stormcloak territory - Own a keep, castle, or stronghold instead of a house - Another "blackreach" - Add claw weapons - Make sure to bring in crossbows :) - Have an evil ending or good ending to every quest in dlc - Get a wizards tower, thieves den, or assassins hideout - Catch thieves breaking into your house and kill them - Super-fast dagger duel-wielding attacks - Change the vampires up, make it to where the hungrier you get the weaker you become - Add grenades for alchemy - Ability to set traps aside from runes - More sneak kill animations - Daedric ruins - Join a new guild Hmm...I think thats it. If I come up with more stuff I'll let you know. :)

My opinions

- Have people hate you for being a bad guy or love you for being a good guy.
I would not want this into the game seeing as it would make skyrim like Fable. Although Fable series is awesome, I wouldn't want to see that game style in Elder Scrolls.

- Add grenades for alchemy.
I don't see how this would add to alchemy seeing as potions are not thrown, but added to arrows and other hand held weapon except staffs. If you mean be able to throw a potion like you would shoot an arrow or putting runes down than that would be an awesome concept.

As for everything else I like. Specialy the own a castle, keep, or stronghold. In Oblivion, my favorite player owned house was the Battlehorn Castle. I'd love to see something like that in these up coming Dlcs.

You could use an abandoned fort, rebuild it, and use it for _____ guild to house guild members and to grow a guild of your choice. Or you could turn it into a thriving forum for merchant exchanging and market stalls. Or you could live alone, with all your trophies... heavily guarded by locked doors, trap doors, secret passages, etc just like any other place you visit in Skyrim.

This DLC idea could easily sink people's gold reserves and dwindle them back to nothing if they chose to really build up their home. You could furnish it like your own home, have guards (or guild members) patrol the area, have training dummies set up and so forth.

You could even use the materials such as iron ingots, ebony ingots, etc to make your structure a certain color and to add strength to the fort. It would be vulnerable to attacks depending on the location and how easily it is found. Add firewood to build fires, or charcoal to make a forge. Add in a few places to make potions, and you've got an apothecary. Want to raise cows/chickens/bunnies? Want to start your own skeever fighting ring? Want to torture trolls for no reason? Put them in your big steel cage!

This would be great for those who need a way to spend a ton of gold, as this DLC would cost quite a fortune in gold overtime. But depending on what you do, you would also make a fortune.
I can tell that your a fellow House enthusiast. I love your ideas on acheiving a house in the game. But in order to get a new place you have to tear down the old? I would prefer unlimited number of houses you could own and fully upgrade all of which you decided to battle, clean, restore, & keep.

I have 2 million+ gold in the game and continue to gain more. It would be cool to have a place to upgrade and store items at the same time.

What I want out of everything is a carriage drawn by shadowmere or frost in which you can store items on board until you reach your house. It svcks having to leave an area to sell/store items while your in the middle of exploring am I right?
