Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #8

Hmm I wonder how many hours it takes to be eligible for beta I put 90+ hours for one character 45 for next character and like 34 for last one all together .... 169 hours of gameplay wonder if they count just one character or all of them

I hope Beth announces when the emails have been sent so us losers know when to stop hoping.
My sentiments exactly. I mean I know I'm going to be one of those losers but false hope is killing me.

I've put over 350 hours into the game myself.

You know since you're added to the secret forums, it would be interesting if the email didn't arrive but you found yourself having access to the forum.

I have a quick question. Once the beta comes out will we be able to ask beta testers certain questions about what's in the DLC? In other words, won't we find out all about this add-on? I'll probably have to stay away from the forums for a while to make sure I don't read a ton of spoilers.

There is going to be a forum section exclusive to beta testers.

I played on ps3 first have you played no patch ps3 it's like finding a pot of gold and then it teleporting away just for you to get it agen no I reply to you good sir if I don't beta test I will expect you and every other to skip your $&@ to the forum and actually give to $&@¥ about why it's a BETA not a charity not a release quality of ps3 main game

Apart from being an absolute headache to read, as well as trying to kiss up to people who won't actually read it, you do realise that the Beta isn't for PS3, right...?

I am adamantly believing they simply have not sent out the Codes yet. I mean, who WOULDN'T want me in a Beta? 'Lest they want to face The Rage of The Peacock

Yes.

I meant that the lack of punctuation made it a puzzle to figure out. I also meant that the kissing up to Beth (I'm best tester ever if I'm not tester there will be bugs everywhere and you'll all regret it etc.) won't do you any favours as they won't read it. Finally, I was saying that the rant about PS3 had me worried that he'd signed up for an xbox beta without knowing he can't use his PS3 for it...

I didn't think it was that indecipherable.

I'm really hoping (for obvious reasons) that prior forum participation level is not a big factor in the selection process. I have over 400 hours invested in Skyrim and would love to be selected. Thing is, I've been lurking these forums without an account for months, but I'm usually not a major contributor on forums, but of course I would definitely be hunting bugs and reporting them if I were to be selected for the beta. I don't mean to sound like a svck up though. I doubt a few posts on the forum would change things either way. I'm just bored and thought I'd contribute for the heck of it. So the invites go out this week huh? I hope the emails are sent early in the week. I'm definitely hoping but really I just want to know one way or the other if I were chosen.

I actually do hope forum actvity and when you put in for the beta count, no disrespect to those who just joined that would really beta test, but we all know more than like 90% of the new people who applied just want the DLC free.

I am not sure if anyone has stated this theory yet, as i skipped the second page of the of this thread, but have any of you thought that maybe the beta is already out and that there is a secret forum that only the testers can visit

If i remember reading the agreement that the testers had to sign it did state that the beta testers had to report on their progress.

They said it on the 8th, so you may hear something today... But I wouldn't expect it until tomorrow at the earliest.

The sad thing is, I suspect Bethesda might think similarly. I agree most people would just be looking to get the DLC for free and I agree that forum participation is a good measure against that. It's just really discouraging to me when I've been reading all over these forums for months and I would totally report bugs, but because I'm kind of shy, I will likely not get selected. Still though, I'm holding out hope until I know I'm not in. Either way though, I think I'm gonna try to start contributing on this forum more often.

I believe BS has said that all DLC going forward will have a beta, so if not this time... maybe next time.

I am similar, i did not join the forums until recently as every time i would go to report a bug, numerous accounts of said bug had been reported, so i figured that there was no reason for me to join, let alone post, but with the beta it gave me a reason to join because i know i will be very active if i do get selected to join the beta as i wish to help Bethesda perfect their DLC so no one will complain about the bugs and turn away from the game as i know many people who did not enjoy Skyrim simply because of the bugs that plagued it early on.

I hear you for sure. But if we don't get selected because of that, I guess that's just the price we pay. Still as Coby pointed out, there's always next time.
