Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #8

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:43 pm

I don't think you're really Garrus.
I think it's probable that you're not even really a Turian.

Garrus wouldn't have time to make 36 characters.

He's too busy doing calibrations.

any way to review the agreement terms?

I wanted to go back and check on a few things, but it seems the only way to get back to it is to sign up again :(

I actually do hope forum actvity and when you put in for the beta count, no disrespect to those who just joined that would really beta test, but we all know more than like 90% of the new people who applied just want the DLC free.
Yeah, i think it would be a good idea to check forum activity. Being a newb that probably doesnt make sense coming from me, but I think it's just the fair way. If i was a vet i wouldnt want idiots to get it just by clicking a button, when I had been really active and worked on improving the community.

90% is a bit harsh. I myself recently joined but am one of those , who is experienced at finding and reporting bugs. Do with every game I play :D. Though most of the companies just say we will look into it :D. For example on Fallout New Vegas if you use the archemides II the animation can get stuck(still hasn't been fixed) . so rather then 90% I'd say 65% ;) . Plus my friend who sighned up for the beta does that for a living lol.

That would be a shame if they mistakely choose people who would get Dawnguard for free and not even help Bethesda in return.

as for percentages, I would say they should let 50% veteran forum users and 50% new players for varieties sake.

The whole point of random selection beta testing is to get the widest range of possible playstyles.

They want there to be people who will look at every plant they walk by to see if it is floating or not, just as much as they want people who will ignore that stuff and just play the expansion like they bought it.

The people who are just playing it are the ones who will run into the more game-breaking bugs fastest, while the ones who check everything will find the bugs that are annoyances but can be dealt with later.

Edit: reading earlier posts, I believe that the guy who said tuesday for beta codes is probably right.

even if bethesda sent out the codes earlier... we would have to wait for MS to update the marketplace. That only happens on tuesdays.

I don't know if this question was out before, but if we get the emails now do we keep quiet or tell everyone they're sending it out?

Sadly you have to keep quiet.

Non-disclosure agreement says no telling anybody if you get in.

Plus, do you want 500 people begging you for info anyways?

Apart from being an absolute headache to read, as well as trying to kiss up to people who won't actually read it, you do realise that the Beta isn't for PS3, right...?
ya I know I have an Xbox to socom isn't on the ps3 and its more of I hate glitches since I lost 20+ hours to one. To all the beta chosen save a lot

Tell that to the other people I know, one of my friends, if he gets it, he will try to make everyone on his friends list jealous and throw it in our face...he made a few fake accounts just to boost his chances

Dawnguard won't be offered on the marketplace, so would we still have to wait until Tuesday?

You aren't able to apply for the Skyrim beta codes anymore.

It won't be offered on the marketplace, but you will still have to enter the beta key on XBL.

The download will be stored on the marketplace even if there is no way to access it without the code.

It would be sweet to have the beta now that my summer vacation has just started! I'm okay with waiting a little, though as I still play Skyrim and create new characters all the time. Mounted combat also made the wait a little shorter :) Going to make my nord a werewolf soon so I can take on the vampire lords (are they confirmed as an enemy or are they unique to the Dragonborn/PC?), gargoyles and whatnot with brute power and new perks.

I did the same. I'm not going to say it is wrong for people to do it, but it is morally wrong, because they are one person, yet they are entering with 3+ email :(
