Markarth and Solitude. I distorted the Skyrim map to better fit the shape of the video map as the map from the trailer is not an exact representation. Maybe it was distorted so as not to be too obvious that it was Markarth and Solitude.

If that really would be Markath and Solitude then what happened with the coast north to Solitude?
You should see atleast abit of the northern coast aye?

edit: Maybe the elder scroll represents the land in another decade like 1000 years before or something o.=.O

looking at the distroted picture i can see this extra river i was missing.. and what i thought was the marsh was a rive further south than that.
but still it seems to be accurately depicting the two cities.

hmm, its really intersting but why should the DLC plays between those cities? Could the third, white symbol take a role in this mystery?

Cause I have heard rumor beneath solitude might live some vampires in the catacombs. And solitude is attracting evil. And Markath seems to have a strong Namira fan base, maybe thats a link as well to the vampires.

Have you never heard of "artistic licence"? it is a depiction of the map, not a copy of it.

You don't look at a Picasso and say, "That's not a woman, her nose is pointing the wrong way" do you?

There is also a clip in the trailer of Whiterun. It's likely going to affect the whole of Skyrim in some way, but there are two new exterior locations...

I thought that the Dawnguard castle had the same kinds of trees and rock formations as are found in The Rift, so I looked on my map that came with the guide. I was looking around the road that leads out in the far south east and there's a location (9.Y) called Frost Troll Den: Jerall Mountain Ridge. Did a search on youtube and there's a video of that location, so I went there myself and it looks like the mountain face could be made into a portal to the new location:

There's a flag at the location too...

The portal would be the square shape over Jordis' left shoulder

...and the black pointer is where I think the castle will be

I think their is a chance it takes place in High Rock, as their is a symbol on the map that could be a arrow pointing towards that area.
I also think that portal, is a gateway to Molag Bals realm
However it could also be that it is just a glimps of Molag Bals realm and most of the DLC takes place in Skyrim.

I am not sure which it is, but after watching the video I think it is one of these. Also that castle is out on the water, but not far, so I think it is either just in Skyrims borders or High Rocks.

I just found a flag just like that way far north of there. Its pretty far out in the water. It was with a skeleton, a book, non searchable box, and a bunch of gold ingots. Its north of the Yngol Tomb and north of a ship wreck. Look for a giant land mass of an ice burg. Walk all the way around it and you should find the flag and the skeleton. Sorry I cant give better directions, I use the Xbox and my husband is on Halo. So I cant tell you better. :(

IMO the overall shape of the both Dawnguard Castle and "Unnamed Vampire Faction" is strongly resembling French/Western Medieval Stonework and stereotypical Vampire Count's Castle, that are in turn a fundament of Breton/ high Rock/Direnni etc creation.

Also having in mind existing lore I'd point that the Dawnguard will have place somewhere else than Skyrim, most likely High Rock!(DG castle/ vampires' castle) or even in Oblivion(V.castle).

My assumption also comes from the interview in which our beloved Todd said that he'd want to create "the High Rock game" and the well-known Molag Bal connection with Vamps.

So, to be short, post your opinions folks:D
The Dawnguard Architecture To me reminds the same architecture of "Maschio Angioino" Castle In Neaples Italy ... http://www.naples-city.info/napoli/angioinoeng.htm

I think if the Dawnguard fortress is in High Rock that will be cool, but looking at the foliage around it i think it is more likely to be The Rift.

Maybe the trailer we saw was just the faction trailer, and there are more places in the DLC.

Theory: Dawnguard will take place in Velothis district of the Morrowind Mainland. (aleast parts of it)

http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/?image=g/maps/map_mw_factions.jpg&p=modding_data/maps

1. Thr climate is pretty similar to that in Skyrim. In the south similar to the Rift, the Rift Pass could lead to the Dawnguard castle. And the Vampire castle could be in the nord.

2. We saw many Nords in the trailer, and the Velothis district is populated mostly with Nords.

3. We saw canyon's in the tailer, and if we look at the map the terain looks pretty rocky.

4. It would be 1/6 of the size of skyrim, and as big as Shivering Isles, 2 small villiges, 1 big city Blackligth.

5. There are 2 mountain chains in the south, so one of them could be used as an invsible walls to separte it form the rest of Morrowind.

Landmasses are already waiting over there:

Just saw the trailer for the first time today,I`m now in a state of total excitement  I think the map at the end of the trailer is the key to the solution. It was plastered with several strange markings,so I think we`re looking at a large new landmass plus adding several new locations onto the existing Skyrim map like they did with Oblivion ( The thieves den an the mage`s tower etc ) At the start of the trailer it panned out over the sea,so at least one castle is on the coast or an island.Plus the dragon crashing through an icy lake is very interesting indeed,so there is somewhere under the ground too.Looks like we`re getting new armour as well,as the female holding the crossbow is wearing strange armour? I`ll need to watch it a few more times now to digest everything :ooo:

I think that would be pretty cool. One thing I hope is that if there is a new landmass, that it extends the main map rather than being a separate map.
