Oh shut up and enjoy it. If you are a fan of Bethesda and their games and DLC. Then you should be grateful and excited for this, every other game today just has crappy Map Packs and some outfits for your character. This is a whole new expansion of quests, armor, enemies, locations. If you hate the way it looks, then it is simple, do not buy it. But I know I will be, it looks brilliant.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions N.D.

Eitherway, it has yet to come out and we don't know what the quest line story is like, so wait until after it is released to judge.

We need people to make the earlier judgments. If the haters come out and say its going to svck, and then it turns out to svck. Then It will only help bethesda realize, "hey, lets prove these haters wrong next time," or if nothing else they just improve. While i agree we should wait to play it I can't say i blame those people who do judge it. We all have our own views. Personally, Let all the content they can spill come. No one ever said everything they release has to be cannon. Didn't Daggerfell or fall or whichever have like 8 endings?

VampireLordOfDeath, I like how you ignore people who might go against what you say yet pander up to people who do not.

It is not an opinion, it is pointless whining pver the stupidist thing and little things. This is Bethesda and their DLC, which from the start to finish (hurr durr horrse armourrz - I don't care) has been brilliant. And Dawnguard will be the same, no matter what the story or anything. It will be a great expansion to the game showing us new locations, armour, quests etc.

I mean.. it DOES look like it could add some fun elements. But Cheesy action movies can be "fun" .

On the dawnguard order side we have an Ancient looking order that has APPEARED FROM NOWHERE and has never been mentioned before. Furthermore there are already Orders dedicating to fighting undead.

On the vampire side...
Firstly skyrim's Main Group of vampires are the Volkihair . Who Live (or stay dead, whatever) underneath Frozen lakes. They are basicaly "ice vampires" and so probably look like Drowned corpses covered in frost. Not a bunch of Fancy people living in an island castle (which might be akaviri).
Secondly the bat magic- What a horrible cliche that doesn't fit with the magical rules of Tamriel . You Summon spirits or Daedra- Not small and fluffy animals! It does look nice but so do shiney things.
The werewolf like transformation is also a Non tes thing. It's like they just ripped ideas of a movie to be Epic and hip.

On advancing lore- My anology is something like this.

It's OK to find out about a hand. How it's muscles move and where the tendons and bones are. Perhaps where the hair is on the hand.

It's Not ok to Expand upon the hand by adding Feet to the hand and Removing the fingers. That's pretty much what Dawnguard appears to be doing. Like they Grabbed a load of crappy movie ideas and threw them into skyrim.

Point taken. Maybe it takes place on Solistheim (sp?)? I think the Dawnguard are kinda dumb.. should be the Vigilants to fit the lore. I thought Dawnguard were involved with the Mythic Dawn.. guess not. The new vampires seem more like the volkair for sure.. the current ones are definatly from Cyrodiil

I am so sick of you jaded pretentious people calling other people hipsters for liking something. The joke is on you. As if ANYTHING in the Elder Scrolls is NOT already cliche.

And stop using the word hipster for people who like popular things. Hipsters are people who disdain what is popular for things that are obscure and not mainstream, and they are mocked for then turning this disdain into a trend all it's own which they follow with the same shallow and pretentious devotion that they are projecting on the people the disdain. The OP being a perfect example of a snob who is dismissing the opinion of others because something is perceived as popular to them.

This is the main thing that i didn't like in the trailer... Everything looked pretty cool until that part.... I mean... Come on....... This is TES, not a cliche vampire thing... Make up your own ideas Bethesda!

Well they didn't really make up the whole "Vampires can turn into mist" thing either. What did you want them to do? Have the vampires turn into cows?

Actually... now that I've said that, I think it'd be a cool surprise.

I'm looking forward to being a swarm of bats/mist/whathaveyou.
