I've enjoyed it; The thing is fun as far as add ons go. It took me WAYYYYYY more than 10 hours. I guess it
would be 10 hours if you used a walkthrough or just breezed through. I messed around, tried collecting
heavy falmer armor to use, before even getting to the vale area that much (which is stuffed with it.)
Then I was done with the main quest, but realized I'd still not got all 5 paragon gems, etc. That added more time there.
I've done the main quest, as dawnguard, as well as most other quests and gained the 5 paragons/areas etc.
I've yet to have vampires wipe out towns.
My main city/home is markarth, I've only seen vampires there once at night in a raid. Guards were pretty much
handling them, with my group helping out on the last one.
I'm also 81, done all the regular main quests and such; Dawnguard might not be something to install
if you are still doing the main game. At this point it doesn't really matter to me if they kill
some townspeople.
That is how I see dawnguard; It is something for you to install, then do, when done with the main game.
It is that kind of "Add on."
I lost Lod in my regular game, then realized what he was for some 45 levels later. I was also a "goody
two shoes " on two daedric quests, not knowing that reamed me. So even doing the thine where you
get both artifacts from Hircine, I'm at 13 for that achievement. How much more likely would you be
to lose lod NOW? I mean, the guy folds like paper but beelines for any dragon in the regular game.
You will have A LOT more fun with this DLC, if you are done with the regular game and the possibility
of vamps is moot.
