Dawnguard.....terrible?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 9:50 am

If your that worried about towns being barren, then take dawnguard with a grain of salt. For some people it wasn't too much of a problem. Other people however haven't been so lucky. So just take it with a grain of salt.

I've yet to have a vampire attack any of my towns and according to others the guards usually do a great job of killing the vampires off before they can kill anyone.

My guards handled business. If someone is that worried about, save before you fast travel or just fast travel to right outside the city and wait till daylight to go in. Vamps are weaker in broad daylight, and less likely to try and pillage your village.

Not just your face, you can change your weight too. It's just like character creation when you start a new game.

Alright, well all of you have made me definitely want to get it 80 percent more than before I made this post, lol. Still nervous about it, but everyone has made it a lot better for me, I think I am going to get it:) Keep up the posts though, definitely. I'm sure I will have more questions to ask, especially once I have it!

I've had three attacks in Riften and one in Falkreath and none of the NPCs died. The guards took care of the vampires before I could even get to them.

Another man of reason here, i think if more people used tactics like this, there would be less complaning about the whole vampire attacks.

I accidentally killed more NPC's than all my vampire attacks on accident while taking Whiterun for the stormcloaks in the civil war questline.

Id say the vast majority of the angry people are the type of gamers that need to have control over every single detail in their perfectly sculpted Skyrim world. They dont want a challenge, they want complete control.

Cause I read that the vampires kill people in the towns even when the system is off too!
Does that even make any sense to you? <.<

Make a thread in general discussion with your problem and you'll get a better response.

Nothing happens in any game when the power is off. Some games will implement timed devices like, say, Pokemon, but no code is being executed if your box is completely off.

Well considering most of Skyrim's fan base consists of whiny preteens who have barely hit puberty, don't listen to the reviews. But there are a few things that you should know.

1. Dawnguard seems to get the best of the deal. I think I can change that with some console commands once it comes out for PC, but it does feel "lopsided".

2. Vampires CAN whipe out towns. However, I haven't really had attacks very often. The worst was when some masters and their gargoyles invaded.

3. It feels unpolished. They're missing things that seemed like they should've added.

4. It's still a great DLC, nonetheless. I, personally, would strongly consider buying it.
