Dawnguard Trailer Discussion v.2

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:15 am

I'm a bit underwhelmed personally. More vampires? I guess I should have expected this with the video Todd showed at DICE earlier in the year showing a lot of the content that will make an appearance in this DLC. Ultimately I won't judge Dawnguard until I can actually play it myself, whenever that happens on PC. That being said, not too thrilled from first impressions.
THIS!
By the time Bethesda releases this for PC it will probably go on the Halloween sale or winter sale.

Hopefully we can use crossbows and the ghostly horse mount in the vanilla game.
If its anything like the Fallout DLC you can bring them all in to the vanilla game.

I'm surprised they're adding mounted combat into a patch for free, rather than putting it for a price in the DLC only. But then, I'm used to EA's [blood-svcking] style.

They'd do that in a heartbeat if they were the publishers.

CAPES! There's capes.

Do you mean the part where the elder scroll was equipped? I thought that was the guy's daughter originally

I may be late to the party, but that unscrolling animation/model must be pillaged and converted so we can have a genuine map of Skyrim in our pockets.

And here is my question, will this be like the Companions? Where I was forced into being a Werewolf?

Can't we side with the vampires and not becme like them?

Presumably you can side with the Dawnguard.

So if I'm already a werewolf does this mean I have to automatically side against the vampires?

Well, even if the main story is vampires vs. Dawnguard, there will probably be other stuff too, IMO.

Dawnguard are bad guys. They kill, torture and destroy vampires just because they are at the bottom of the food chain.

Good question. If I had to guess probably no.

I thought they were the good guys? *raises eyebrow*

If the werewolves and this new chain of vampirism are mutually exclusive, then hopefully they give you the ability to contract lycanthropy again. Wild werewolves or something like that. It'd be pretty foolish to make joining this faction completely impossible if you had the audacity to join the Companions and didn't start a new character for this DLC.

They are more or less like the Vigilantes of Stendarr and the Silver Hand. Bad people claiming to be good just because they hunt vampires. But they are extremely prejudice, torture people(just check out the dead werewolf bodies in both human and beast form, and torture tools in their lairs and even a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Physicalities_of_Werewolves on dissecting people!). Not to mention, hypocrites. I.E, "we serve the god of mercy but we have none to spare. Walk in the light or we will forcibly drag you to it".

In the end, it is all a point of view.

Yeah it would. My main character is a Werewolf. Though he is siding with Dawnguard. Some will side with the Vampires.

I suppose so. But Rashir is very oppurtunistic. He does anything if it benefits him. I suppose joining the Dawnguard would keep Skyrim in control of the Dark Brotherhood, since he is the Listener and the Dragonborn. And he wouldn't have to deal with vampire lords.
