I didn't read the thread so thought the patch just gave the arm animation! Only when using it did I see what you had done! Well done and thanks! As for the arms slowing the game, in my game, if anything, the arm shoots out too quick! :)I am always amazed what get produced, free of charge, to help gamers enjoy their gaming at the highest they can. I put this patch up there with the OLDBlivion patch that allows literally 10's if not 100's of thousands of Oblivion players to play these game on their mid to low range PC's. I have it playing lovely with no less than about 10 fps which is a livable rate on my lowly 5600XT!People like you should get an award or something! Huge kudos to you from London, England! :)

Looks like a great patcher, too bad everything is greyed out and the thing does not work whatsoever. I have the latest .Net Framework installed. Maybe I'm using a corrupted file? Downloaded from the first page of this thread. Help?

Im digging this patch Though I dont really have use for the cheat features. I do adore the arm as it adds to the realism. but I have 2 questions1. Is there a time you will have the A ending availible for viewing in your next patch. (PLEASE)When i play this game I dont want to rush through it. I like slowly creeping and being terrified and not having to worry that ill be missing a part of the story because I focused on finding everything and finishing the game in under 5 hours with less than 5 saves. I have seen a grainy version of the A ending on you tube And I would like to see the High quality version on my pc. So if you could impliment that one day I would appreciate that dearly.2. How the hell do I install the no film grain patch. What do I do with these 3 files. One of my bigest gripes was that film grain crap and to play through the rest of the game without it would be a real treat.Thank youCrage

No big deal. I really don't need the patcher, I just wanted to see the arm and maybe get more ammo. :ninja: I've learned to conserve like crazy in this game. Seeing the arm would add more flavor to the interactive components in the game, IMO. I wish they hadn't nerfed it. I think the Reef is the best part of the game next to Jailbreak. The game in total, has kept me immersed for 13 hours.I have to have .Net Framework installed to run my ATI Catalyst Control Center to tweak my rendering. I know that's not corrupted. It's as if what I downloaded is either not in the correct folder (no instructions or readme) or I have a sample version which does not allow access to any tabs or pull-down menus.Maybe the author could post the latest version or give the me the page where this is so I don't need to sift through 15 pages of complaints/comments. I'm no programmer and barely know enough to survive my own sea of files and folders. :cthulhu:

Move the DCotEPatch.exe into the Engine Folder of your Game Installation. For Default this is:"C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Call Of Cthulhu DCoTE\Engine"or wherever you have installed the Game.Then just execute the File.Now click on the Load Button at the upper left Corner and load the CoCMainWin32.exe. Now all the Options will become accessible.The Functions are very self-explanatory.For the No-Filmgrain Function for Example, just check the corresponding Box on the first Tab.Do no forget to Save your Settings with the Save Button in the lower left Corner.Thats all

Hi, I am haveing a bit of a problem when trying to dl/run the patch. When I go to http://www.svcklead.com/DCoTEPatch.exe I get this error: Common Language Runtime Debugging ServicesApplication has generated an exception that could not be handled.Click OK to terminate the application.Click CANCEL to debug the application.When I press cancel it tells me that the JIT debugger is not found. This error also happenes when I try and download the DCotE patch from other file hosts.

the first thing you do is give this graveyard more than half an hour for answers.days can often help.the second thing is, i think, press F1 in-game.

To get access to the Patch Options, i have described that further above. Look http://callofcthulhu.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=2992&view=findpost&p=58707 in this Thread.For Technical Issues, i cannot help you much, only Things i know about that is, that you need .Net 1.1 installed and since Elathan mentioned it, that you need Administrator Rights on your Machine.Good Luck

actually i am using the direct 2 drive version. Is that version not compatible? must've missed that post.does there happen to be a patch out there for the direct2drive version?

Sorry about the outage had to move from serving from my local server to serving from my isp...still no ads:)I actually paid for the game a 2nd time through D2D, battled through trying to hook into the D2D version post decryption and then major work projects came in which gave me zero free time :(I'm very happy to sort this if I can....I'm on holiday at the moment so will give another 24 hours to trying to give it a go....if anyone with experience in this kinda hooking can help out that would be cool as the research part of it is very time consuming...I'll try to remember the exact encryption it was using when I get a chance.Note I'm only interested in hooking post decryption to change the xml not in defeating D2D protection (steam 4tw :) ).

hmmm..sorry guys..tha patch is not working for mei remember when i first ran the patch..i worked perfectly (althoguh I'm not quite sure for I' ve never saved any changes)...now, when I load the exe file into the patcher, every options available are just greyed out, except the film grain and the end secuence options...I can also load the xml files but i quite don't know what to do with themis it that i have to enable some kind of debug mode?PLEASE HELP!!!otherwise, i won't be able of finishing the game because of that rumble at the end....:S

Sounds like you have modified the xml and then saved it which stops the easy options working.Look in the directory where the exe is for the auto-generated backup and use that instead.[/quote]Ok, I made it work...SPOILER....everything seemed ok, i saw the great ending scene, but when I "woke up" I COULDN'T MOVE!!!I couldn't move...i got stuck within the graphics, and half of the screen turned into white...i didn't have any other choice but quitting the game...:(by the way, it happens that I installed net framework 2.0does that bug has anything to do with that?HELP!!!

Tahionic software have made a version of the patch too. I noticed, when I was asking the owner about how he hacked the patch (didn't know about your exe at the time) he said he did it all with his word extractor, but it's bullcrap. He merely added his dodgy site onto it.

Got the patch but it doesn't work :-(Clicking on it opens a MS-DOS windows that closes just after.I've copied the .exe in the engine folder, but the result is the same. I have .net 1.1 and even 2.0.Any ideas ?Apart from this, this game rocks. I have to escape from Innsmouth so back to this charming port !
