Not sure what that could be, lemme dig around the net a bit.The DCoTEPatch.exe doesn't have to be in the game folder to run though. You did get it from http://www.svcklead.com/DCoTEPatch.exe didn't you?

I didn't want to scroll through all 17 pages of this post, so I'm just posting to ask: what does the patch do? I downloaded it, but it was from a site with no info, and the patch didn't come with any kind of readme file. What exactly does the patch patch?

1: You can modify run, crawl, duck, jump, sneak heights/speeds.2: You can modify weapon values including magazine / clip limit, power per shot, projectiles per shot.3: You can enable tonnes of developer options, devload, arm reach (see page 1) god mode, fly mode and debug mode.4: You can have fun with it. :)

I found the problem : the patch MUST be downloaded with Internet Explorer.I used Firefox for the previous downloads ; the patch was somehow corrupted. Now, I'd like to finish the game once before using the patch. Barely over 20 % ...

I've grabbed it with IE6/IE7/firefox and its been ok :/I would recommend trying the hand mod the first time through though, if you find it a problem turn it off but it really does add something :D

Ok, I'll enable the hand mod.One question, though. What is the release mode ? What does mean "Dev Continue" ?

Dev continue means when you die it allows you to spawn again from where you died.

I can't seem to download the patch.I tried the right click menu option "save target as" from the link on xbill's posts, but that would only let me save an htm file, I tried opening it and using file->save as but that too was only a htm file. I've tried renaming the file through both the above but neither works. Annoyingly, I originally had a working version of dcotepatch but it kept causing graphics problems (or the game was bugged I can't really say) part of why I stop playing the game. I later got a new version of the patch to see if anything had been fixed anywhere, but this newer version didn't let me change anything and I didn't want to go through the first few sections to find I can't see anything but a flat screen of brown once I hit jailbreak. Now I get the same error reported by the first poster on this page, a dos window pops up and then closes.I'm running an EU version (at least i'm in the EU so I think it is) and I have updated graphics and sound drivers today.

My browser gets the error regardless of whether I just left click, manually enter the link, etcIn return for the service, I'll make this face 8D How's that?

Wait, in the first panel, have you loaded the EXE? I made the mistake of forgetting, everything was greyed out.In the first panel, hit "Load" up the top left of the patcher. Select CoCwinmain32.exe or whatever and patch away :) Remember to hit save too.Did that help?

I gotta say, a great patch, great patch. It's been a while since I've visited these forums and your patch came as a nice surprise. Nice job guys!Still, I got a few questions to ask about your patch, I'm not sure if these have been asked before, I tried to search for them but found nothing. I've been wondering what this "treatment time overhead" does, can you clarify it a bit? Also, the treatment times for bandage, suture and splint don't seem to change ingame although I give them the highest values (9,9). I never liked the treatment times being so low. It felt stupid when you could apply sutures and splints in a matter of seconds even during a battle when in reality it would take much, much longer. I'd like to get the treatment times very high so that I would actually need to avoid damage in battle if I didn't want spend a whole lot of time bandaging and patching myself back into condition.

The patch does not work for me - I get an error message saying that "The program was not succesfully(*) initialized (0x0000135). Press OK to execute the program" Is there somewehere else to downlaod the patch from than svckleads site? I have a feeling that there's something wrong with the exe.* My error message is in norwegian, so I can't translate it right.

Is there a readme for this patch or anything? I don't really like running EXEs when I have no idea what they're going to do?

I've run it now. Didn't realise there would be an info screen at execution :PAnyway, I have a question: Is it possible to turn off the greying noise overlay that is persistant through the whole game? I read earlier in the thread that someone mentioned it (I think xbill), but then dismissed it in their next post. I know it's there to add atmosphere and make the game look "old", but I find it very annoying and would rather see a nice crisp image without it.

If you tick the "Disable Filmgrain/Letterbox on cutscenes" option that should do what you want from what I remember.

I tried it, but I don't think it did. I'll check again though and take some screenshots to compare.EDIT: Just took 2 screenies with the 'Filmgrain/Letterbox' option on and off, with no difference in image. I think the cinematics add a secondary grain filter over the already-present in-game grain, which makes it more noticable. It's that secondary filter that the option is removing. It leaves the in-game filter intact however.
