Here's a few more that you might include in a future release:*** in the section *****1 (Makes the player invisible to hostile AI)0.5 0.50.50.50.5 (Times in seconds for treaments. Smaller time = quicker treatment/healing)*** in the section ***0 (Enables/Disables insanity effects like blurred vision, vertigo, etc.)The PlayerInvisible and the AllowInsanityEffects will require replacing a commentand padding as necessary with spaces, CRs, and LFs.

The param skips the videos entirely, while the ''-noskip' tweak still lets the user watch them while giving the ability to skip the starting vid. This could even be addressed w/o any warnings. More convenient, IMHO.

I suppose a few extra options in the patcher that allowed for selective play/noplay or skip/noskip of the individual videos would be interesting.

Ah yes that would do.I was reluctant about removing the intros completely in the first place as they contained copyright/credit style stuff. This would indeed be a better solution to add to the patch, but the old one must remain to allow people to switch it back on if they have switched it off.xbill i'll throw those in when i have time thanks.Anyone had any ideas why the normal fov variable doesnt work? this would be a good find if you can.

Just a quick note to say thanks to svcklead again. I've just given Dark Corners another go with the new patch and, dude, it's so much fun...! Being able to select levels is a wonderful thing, but getting the hand back is FANTASTIC!I was so sad to see this feature dropped and, while I can see that it's not exactly the most assured execution, I really enjoy the version you've uncovered. Attack of the Fishmen (now that the game has trained me to the required level of choreography) is much more fun with the hand. I'm a big fan of the concept of a virtual body in games (Thief III, Hitman, Escape from Butcher Bay etc...) and this seems like a real advance - it strongly ties your physical presence to the world around you.Like I've said before, fly mode is a godsend if you really want to appreciate the almost painful levels of detail found in Dark Corners. In fact, it's often the only way to appreciate some once-off little pieces of design within the levels. If I could get two more options, I'd ask for the ability to turn off the film grain effects and the ability to inspect the Asylum cut-scene levels. Ehh... it's hard not to want more of a good thing...! =)Thanks again! All the best, --RoB

ReachHand can't close doors behind you in many instances.

It requires .Net because .Net is the best multi-platform GUI development system available today.

The film grain was used to simulate how the eye reacts in drak contrasted areas I beleive. But you can turn it off if you read the instructions earlier on in the forum.

I'm thinking:Alter FOV to 10 start new game. Save.Alter FOV to 20 start new game. Save.Should be easy to find it then?

The ranking for previous completions and game option settings are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\Bethesda\Call of Cthulhu\Options\Configuration.Data

Yeah but Ive always been of the philosophy that no program I write should ever use 1 cycle more than necessary :PFeels to me like being invited into someones house to fix a water link while their out of town.. I would fix it quickly and efficiently and leave but the majority of software I have seen lately eats out of the fridge, watches TV, takes a nap, rummages through the dressers, invites their friends over for a party, then turns off the water main "its not dripping anymore Im done".Too many programmers use modules and lazy ugly hacks under the assumption that theirs will be the only program running on the box at a time and the end user will tolerate random instability :PYou should learn ASM again it really is becoming a lost and sorely missed art these days.

Theres no point in programming such high-level anymore, theres no performance boost on modern systems. ASM should only be used for pre-os operations or high-level system altering.C/C++ or Python is much more effiecient for this kind of thing as it's a lower-level faster interpereted language en route the modern OS.

Hmm.. does the intro autosave at the start? Those would probably be the most reliable to compare because they would be the most similar.Me thinks that in addition to the FOV value stored in the savegame the timestamp would also be different between the two saves.Great now Im going to have to look at it when I get home as well :P

ARgh! The file sizes between game saves are different. I saved games at the same location on the House level. Each was a newly started game. The file sizes were different.

The value at offset 16 corresponds to the game save number (1 = 1st, 2 = 2nd, ...)

Because the values must remain the same length you HAVE to fill in all the digits else it won't let you patch.

Man, when i simply click on any value tab, also if i leave the value as them are, i can't exit from the cell. So i can't do nothing.......... and i have to kill the patch process......... i don't think should be like that ;)

Hmmm that is indeed odd...although now I think...it is most likely an international thing to do with , and . for decimal places. Or is that only currency?I'll take a look at that now.Yes that is indeed the problem. I'll sort that out asap.

I targeted 1.1 as most people won't have 2.So couldn't use the masked edit box:(The change wasn't very hard was just trying to collect some other changes together at the same time.
