Hydration is the key. Hydration and Astroglide.

...I read a news article about some WOW freak in South America who died at his computer desk from malnutrition.

The idiot was so addicted to the game, that he stopped eating.

The longest I have played Skyrim was maybe an hour and a half, but an entire day of playing? I could, or would ever do that.

After a few hours of gaming, I have to get up and walk around. I can't stay stationary for too long. To think that there are those who develop blood clots and die from not eating, sleeping or moving during long gaming sessions...

I'm the same way, except I have to get up and move around every 30-60 minutes. Even when I'm just browsing the Internet, like clock-work, my body tells me to get up and move every 60 minutes.

The longest gaming session I ever did was way back in 2003 when I picked up the PC game Stronghold Crusader. I sat down and played it for 12 hours straight without any breaks at all, not even any food. And let me tell you from experience, don't stand up too fast or you might just fall over... With regards to the OP pressing the wrong buttons accidentally after lengthy gaming sessions, I'm actually the opposite. I remember multiple 6 hour gaming sessions of Call of Duty 4 would leave me exhausted, but my hands would go into auto-pilot mode, which made me press the right buttons without even thinking about it.

haw much was the chance that you and your brother would get busted somewhere after 48 hours ?

I'm an old guy, been out on my own since I was 18 so I'm da boss of what I do , but growing up it was just me,bro and mom who worked 12 hour shifts as a nurse so it wasn`t that hard to get away with stuff

I quit WoW in May 2011, but played it for 5 years, and easily played it for 16-18 hours per day for several days in a row/whenever I had the time.

Skyrim, on release I played it for about 12 hours per day, for several months. But now, I've slowed down, seems I need more sleep and it's no use fighting it. I've had several characters killed in Skyrim and D2/LOD when I fell asleep during the game.

Starting on D3 tomorrow and we'll see how that goes.

I'm wondering sometimes if age has something to do with it. I'm nearing 65 and it seems 7 hours sleep doesn't do it anymore - been doing that for over 40 years, but now that I'm retired I have to take one or two naps each day lol.
I used to play City of Heroes for stretches like that, but lately I only play short stints every so often, for various reasons. I've been playing Skyrim in long sessions lately instead, but have also reduced that somewhat as I was starting to burn out.

Am getting D3 myself and expect to play a lot of it too, but probably not marathon sessions as I now know better.

We don't need no stinking sleep, we are Dovahkiin!!! We are fueled by dragon's blood and Code Red Mountain Dew!!!!

Of which is both known to hold extreme amounts of caffein. :P

On a more serious note (or not) I did commonly spend 2 days gaming when I had horrible insomnia few years back, tops being 92 or so hours of Final Fantasy 12 in 4 days. These days not even close, I don't believe I even spent more than 4 hours in a row playing Skyrim.

Yeah, nothing like laying in bed trying to sleep until 2 AM... and then throwing the covers off, muttering '$#@!$ it,' and turning on the old Xbox :P

Sounds like a description of every Sunday night. I get really anxious about returning to work, and gaming soothes my soul.

My longest was a 30-something hour camp and grind in an MMO. My game buddy stayed awake with me by doing push ups between every spawn. I don't seem to feel tired when I play too long, but I do start to see spiders where there aren't any.
If you play for more than 12 hours straight you should really be using graduated compression socks: http://graduatedcompressionsocks.vo2fx.com/running-compression-socks/

Can't count the number of times someone has gone face first into their keyboard in Vent playing MMOs. You really can't afford to OLS unless you are a dedicated e-athlete wearing your compression socks.
