Did you ever play so long that...

I don't often keep track of time, maybe I'll take notice of whether it's dark or light outside, but when I pick up the controller, time doesn't exist. I’m sure I’ve gone a day or so playing it straight.

And yes, I'm a geek / gamer / nerd / whatever else.

I've never had issues with controls really, but I've had issues with my hands getting sore.

Night of release, 8 hours in game sleep seemed good enough for me. I dont have the problem OP has, but I do often go into another game and try and sprint with alt, then wonder why I'm not sprinting.

This does happen to me sometimes, but not really because of how long I've been playing.

I work from 5pm until 4 am. So I'm up around 3pm and got to sleep about 6-7am. I keep this schedule on my days off, so my usual Skyrim session is about 6-8 hours long, from about 6-7pm until 2-3am.

I notice that I start pressing wrong buttons if I've been in and out of the menus a lof during a short period of time. To clear my head I just run around outside of Whiterun in the plains, tangling with the odd Mudcrab, Wolf, Sabre Cat, or foolish Assassin. If that doesn't work, I take a break and lurk here and on another gaming site for a bit. And then it's back to questing and high adventure.

Oh, and 7Up and DD coffee.

Are you joking? I do that all the time!

I've never recovered from ready weapon not being the 'F' key from Morrowind and find myself in third person approximately once every ten seconds.

 I do that. Inconvenient in a fight.
Longest Skyrim session was 17 hours I think, longest ever gaming session was probably Civ II. Just one more turn ...

Did you ever play so long that you have difficulty using the controls correctly, like pressing the wrong buttons and going into the wrong menus? One time I played well over 24 hours straight, maybe even 2 days. I think that was the longest I ever stayed awake.

Bro you need to get out more.

Pffft, I've programmed for 30 hours straight (damn, that was tiresome!). If it keeps you awake, it's definitely worth it. ;)

The other day I was having a nap with the window open. Was a lil bit chilly but was all snug in my bed so didn't want to get up to close it, nodded off to have weird dreams about searching for skyrim mods that would let me close the window without getting up.

Didn't download any in the end though since they were only available on steam workshop and I didn't want them to autoupdate and break my window.

i think moving in the game with a buddy not exercising is a bad idea specially when all the moving in game are fighting movies =violent
you are only charging your head with combat hits while the mussels are not working
staying long time is means you are emotionally stuck inside your sub mind is running away from outside the prof is the empty
feeling you get after closing the game and try to sleep my eyes keep moving forward in the dark without me moving its a 3d
side effect i guess .
if working its something else . do you think your mind will do more work when its exhausted ? not at all it will slow down
just making you feel you are going further in fact its addicted and dose not want to go back to the other things .

here is a nice song for this thread and for the souls trapped in the dark walls of this century

I don't engage in ridiculously long sessions anymore, as I get too tired, but I can remember a couple of marathon Civ sessions that started out with my intending to run for only a few hours and just...kept...going.

Bro you need to get out more.

What? The record for me is 3.5 days straight without sleep. Me and the bro. started on a Friday and didn't stop until Monday afternoon/ supper timeish, but we smoked sooOOOooo much green that we were both broke for 2 months( catching up on bills and what not ). No redbull or anything back then either just good old fashioned coffee  But alas I'm tooOOoo old to even think of attempting that endeavour any more

In my younger years i could forgo school, neglect all duties and game for 46+ hours straight.
I still remembered fondly that the game was "Might and Magic 3 - Isles of Terra" on the PC.

Can't do that now tho, don't have the stamina for it. Although for the 11Nov2011 Skyrim launch i did
play from Midnight to around 4am till i just slept facedown on my keyboard lol!!

"I used to play for 24 hours straight like you, but then I put a watch on my arm...."

The longest I've ever stayed awake straight was while working on an offshore drilling rig, back in the 70's. We had to work until we'd solved the problems, and it took about 4 days. We took short breaks, but no sleep. When done, we got on a helicopter back to land, and all I remember is climbing into the thing, then halfway waking up when it landed. Got a room slept for a very long time, and woke up starving, then drove back to Houston from southern Louisiana, and ate and slept some more. That sort of broke me for staying awake for long periods, and I've fallen asleep playing Skyrim on more than one occasion. The fact that I'm an old fart helps with that, too.

Old fart has nothing to do with it, been many at time I've seen my brother asleep in his chair in front of his computer with his arms crossed, dead to the world  only thing is I'm evil and from time to time I like to :shifty: throw cold water on him to wake him up, needless to say he's all :gun: when he is woken in that matter but it's funny as ol hell

I think it's, the average person can go 8-10 days without sleep before losing their mind. I'm pretty sure organs start to shut down at this point as well.
