jblood: Many of your complaints don't seem to make any sense to me. Whether that is a result of not knowing much English I can't tell. Dead characters having their eyes closed is hardly a legitimate complaint about the video game. The Thieves guild committing crimes is also a senseless complaint.
If you are unhappy about the game, then you are absolutely entitled to speak your mind about it. Bethesda cannot ever hope to improve upon their games if people merely chant praise, and never share criticism. This is something that many people fail to understand. But, you need to express legitimate complaints, legitimate criticism. Not, "dead things have their eyes closed".
Skyrim isn't a perfect game by any means, and there's a lot about it that can be improved. As I've said before, Skyrim is a lot of mediocre features thrown together into a decent game. I enjoy it for what it is, and if I truly disliked it I wouldn't have put over a hundred hours into the game. However, that's because at its core, Skyrim is an action game, and the roleplaying elements are very lightly layered on. Sort of like chocolate frosting on a vanilla cake. It goes well together, but it doesn't serve to add any true depth to the game. It's a simple game. The combat is fun, but it isn't very strategic, beyond blocking and swinging your sword. Unlike a shooter, where you have to consider cover, aiming, when to use grenades, making sure you're safe before you reload, and so on, Skyrim is pretty straightforward. Bows and magic add a little bit to it, and arguably, those are the best aspects of the combat. But they're also overpowered, and again, shallow. Magic is terribly limited, and the spells are not interesting or creative.
And it isn't just the combat. The storylines - the main quest, the guilds, etc. - are very simple as well. Most characters in the game are, again, shallow, uninteresting, and without depth. Companions have about five lines, and hardly any history or personality attached to them. I, personally, find it hard to hate or love anyone in the game. There are several memorable characters, but for the most part, nobody sticks out. The greatest thing Skyrim has going for it, in terms of story, is its lore, which is consistently interesting and fun to delve into. But it just barely has an affect on the game. There are more interesting characters in the books you can read, than there are actual characters to interact with.
Once again, a lot of mediocre features, bundled together into a beautiful world, to make a good game. Not amazing, and not terrible, just good.
Honestly? I think Bethesda would do well to get back to the roleplaying side of The Elder Scrolls series. I don't mind if the world gets smaller, if the characters become more interesting, and the story a little more than "you're a good guy, fulfill prophecy, beat the bad guy". Argonians and Dunmer struggling to survive against racism and segregation in Windhelm are hardly convincing, when they only have a handful of lines tacked to them, and barely any personality to speak of.
Bethesda builds a strong foundation, they just need to expand themselves, and actually build upon that foundation, not make it prettier. That all said, it may be a simple game, but it does have good things going for it, and it is fun to play.
