Disappointed with Skyrim.

TES Games are by far some of the best games out there. Yes, there are glitches but have you ever truly played a Glitch Free Game that is as so from Vanilla 1.0? This means no patches no mods etc. Like said, 98% of the stuff you've said is opinion-related things and not valid arguments...

Currently, I wish Bethesda would just create a Rants Section of the Forums then move all of these useless rants threads there so we players, who actually like and play the game, don't have to worry about bumping into one of these.

You have your opinions but you are seriously like one of the few Crocs in an Alligator swamp right now.

it is not a progressive step from Oblivion.

Old Atari games are ten steps up from Oblivion.

Thanks to marshmallow for the imput. I have finished the dragon problem, killed off the stormcloaks,, done so many jobs for the dark brotherhood and the thieves guild that they are repeating .I hope they fix that.
I would like to walk into the thieves guild and slaughter them all.probably can't do that.some violation of the ethics or morality?! just thinking happy thoughts.

Skyrim is a great game, but it's mechanics are just too shallow for my taste. For the first week, it was the best game ever. For the next month it honestly felt like a chore to play. But after a time I just learned to appreciate Skyrim for what it is. I still think the background lore is very interesting, and I love reading all of the books from previous entries, but the writing leaves to be desired. The world itself is vibrant and beautiful, if not what I expected it to be. I like this game a lot, not as much as the past games, but who cares. It's still a great game, and I can't wait for the DLC.

I don't like DLC in many games, but I've always felt that Beth DLC was at least worth the money. Other than the obvious glaring exceptions. *cough*

To jusey1 .You may be right. There should be a rant section.i think there is more to be learned by people criticizing the game. i could just go gaga over it ,but have played too many of these to
just roll over when the herd says it is Great!!! You don't have to read this. gonna go slaughter the thieves guild.

I really don't understand all these people who have such rampant hatred for Oblivion and act like Skyrim is a masterpiece. I just don't see it. I mean, sure Skyrim has better graphics, dungeons, and combat, but in my mind Oblivion surpasses it in just about every other area. And if graphics, dungeons, and combat are all that you play ES games for, I am at a loss for words.

Oblivion is alright but I think Skyrim's Quest System is better, though the questlines are little too small.

Eh, I'm dissapointed with Skyrim's quests, to be honest. Most of the time I have about 20 sitting in my quest log that I just don't feel like doing. Doing quests in general just seems like a chore after a couple playthroughs, which is a shame. They seem kind of lackluster in comparison to Morrowind and Oblivion's.

I, personally, love to do quests and that is why I like Skyrim and Daggerfall the most. They constantly generate quests though it is repetitive but is better than wandering around the world with nothing to do except kill. But I'm not surprise with people not liking this. The "Quester Community" always been small....

If more quests had branching paths I think I'd like them more. I liked doing quests on my first playthrough, but after that I was forcing myself to do them with other characters. Branching paths in quests would add for a lot more replay-ability. As for Radiant Quests, they are okay, but I usually don't bother with them. I think I have the most fun in Skyrim when I'm on my way to a quest, because I usually get distracted and find a whole bunch of cool stuff.

More Choices/Paths in quests. Ah I see what ya mean. Yeh, most games don't really do that. Those type of quests are better, true..

i agree, since when has The Elder Scrolls series really been only about combat and graphics? what happened to the story? the great quests? the interesting NPC's? the immersion? Its really sad..

Oblivion's primary problem is the combination of hard level scaling and the unforgiving leveling mechanics. Basically, unless you gain three +5s every level, you actually become relatively weaker when you level up, instead of stronger.

This forces even normally causal players or role-playing players into a min-max mode, concerned with exactly how many skill ups did they get this level.

When I started playing Skyrim,I had a nagging feeling that I was in for more Bethesda disappointment. I was right. When I played Daggerfall,I fell through
dungeon floors, got stuck in dungeon walls,Much aggravation!. When I played Morrowind the game froze up or bogged down so bad that it was almost
unplayable, but I made it through. After playing Oblivion,I thought that those bad old days were gone. Man,was I wrong.
Disappointments,I just got done fighting off the Stormcloak attack at Whiterun.decided to go out and loot the fallen. They are all gone! Why?
Where is the Staff of Worms? I really ticks me off that Skyrim got so moralistic about necromancy. If you bring a zombie iback it shouldn't turn
into a pile of ash once it's time runs out. Most of the characters that frequent this game are ugly. When i search the dead, they're eyes are closed.
That pisses me off. That is my main gripe i guess. you can murder a person in a city. Pay a piddly fine and just go. You get stupid missions that
put you into positions where you end up killing giants.( Who seem to harm no one. ) Or,you can work for the thieves guild, the biggest bunch of
jerks I've come across. Stealing ,Fixing books...God knows why! There is no consequence to these actions. And yet the victims eyes are closed.
That is lame. I know that i won't be playing Skyrim much longer unless i see improvements. At least I didn't fall through the floor.

I totally agree that Skyrim is full of annoying bugs and glitches. But none of the things you stated are the real reasons. Which is a bigger deal? Over 300 hours of gameplay or a simple texture matter of dead people's eyes being closed. And yes, the Thieves are dikes. Do you know why? Because they are Thieves, they steal stuff for a living. But, i bet someone like you would be surprised that a group of people that dedicate their lives towards thieving don't welcome everyone with a free muffin basket, a free 7 day vacation at that 5 star spa that you have always wanted to go to, and a $100 WallMart giftcard. They are thieves!

I'm surprised how long the thread is, here, when the OP is a new forum-goer with just 36 posts ...

It is what it is ...

There will always be haters and fan-boys in the forums ...

Give constructive criticism if you can I say ...

Good lord. What is the point of the original post? Don't play it. Who cares? Yes there are some bugs, but to me nothing has made the game unplayable. In fact this is probably the most I've ever played a video game in my life. Yes, the thieves guild are a bunch of THIEVES! They're jerks. Alot of the people in Skyrim are ugly. It's a harsh world they're living in. The game itself is beautiful. I have zero complaints.

it pisses you off that dead peoples eyes are closed...erm ..why?what do you want them to be doing.ive seen a few dead people throughout my life, nothing sinister just old dead people, anyway there eyes were closed man, thats what happens when you die.

Um, those few old dead people you've seen at funerals, had their eyes closed by morticians, regardless of what state they may have been in when they kicked. Wouldn't do to have uncle Wilbur's blank eyes staring back at everyone who came to pay their respects, now would it? Talk about the willies. From a purely realistic standpoint, the OP is correct- people, or any creature, who dies while awake will usually have thier eyes open afterwards. When you expire with a greatsword stuck through yer gizzard, you don't yawn, close your eyes and gently go to sleep... it's pretty violent and quick, and the eyes will still be wide open and staring up at the sky, as if wondering what the hell just happened. That's why in so many of the old movies, you'll see the hero closing the eyelids of their fallen comrades, after a battle. That was accurate.

But, I don't care if they put that little detail into a game or not, and I'm sure gaming devs are being a tidge sensitive to their critics who say there's too much awful stuff being added into modern games. And the little extras like open eyes, gaping wounds, entrails hanging out, that sort of thing kinda tends to remind people a little too much that the activities they're participating in really are simulating horrible actions against the bodies of another (virtual) human being. Gotta keep it at least a little bit clean, to keep the worst of the censorious wolves at bay. Beheadings, I guess that's acceptable. As long as the eyes are closed....

Rants were better before Skyrim.

The dead guys eyes are closed, I can't play the game this way.

I hate how the Thieves Guild thieve and make me thieve.

But the guy got 4 pages of ranting, that's a skill. :)

Great Book that, i hope he hasn't read it because it should never be tarnished by the hands of imbiciles.

Biggest dissappointment for me was finding out there was no 3D support.

Here is a world that is just begging to be seen in 3D and all we get is a flat 2D picture. Nice graphics but could have been 2000% better with 3D.
