Disappointed with Skyrim.

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 3:45 pm

When I started playing Skyrim,I had a nagging feeling that I was in for more Bethesda disappointment. I was right. When I played Daggerfall,I fell through
dungeon floors, got stuck in dungeon walls,Much aggravation!. When I played Morrowind the game froze up or bogged down so bad that it was almost
unplayable, but I made it through. After playing Oblivion,I thought that those bad old days were gone. Man,was I wrong.
Disappointments,I just got done fighting off the Stormcloak attack at Whiterun.decided to go out and loot the fallen. They are all gone! Why?
Where is the Staff of Worms? I really ticks me off that Skyrim got so moralistic about necromancy. If you bring a zombie iback it shouldn't turn
into a pile of ash once it's time runs out. Most of the characters that frequent this game are ugly. When i search the dead, they're eyes are closed.
That pisses me off. That is my main gripe i guess. you can murder a person in a city. Pay a piddly fine and just go. You get stupid missions that
put you into positions where you end up killing giants.( Who seem to harm no one. ) Or,you can work for the thieves guild, the biggest bunch of
jerks I've come across. Stealing ,Fixing books...God knows why! There is no consequence to these actions. And yet the victims eyes are closed.
That is lame. I know that i won't be playing Skyrim much longer unless i see improvements. At least I didn't fall through the floor.

It seems I must actually disagree with most of your points.. I don't find the char's ugly, dead people mostly reallife have their eyes closed, even rl (maybe you just don't reallise) you can actually pay off cops when you commit a crime, you don't have to kill giants and everyting.

You just seem to go into skyrim with prejudgements.. when you expect something to be bad, it'll be bad. Easy as that.

So ... You're complaining because a necromancer's staff from 200 years ago isn't in the game, that you can't constantly reanimate zombies to fight for you, the people in the thieves guild are thieves, and you have a bounty for crime?

You need to calm down, and persist with games after you encounter something you don't like. Srsly.

Who says that stream-of-consciousness isn't an effective literary style?

Oblivion had some very high polish and I ran into just a few bugs in that game I was very disappointed with the amount of bugs in Skyrim.

You were one of the lucky ones then. Many players found Oblivion to be very buggy. Much like many players find Skyrim to be not-at-all buggy (at least not in any way that matters).

Pretty much every Bethesda game is going to have some bugs. It's to be expected.

I only had a few bugs in Oblivion out of five or so years of playing.

With Skyrim the bugs are not forgivable and I am having a terrible time with them. I keep reporting them and then sending my reports to Gstaff in the hope that they get fixed.

Wall of text burns my eyes :shocking:

OT: Maybe you should just stop playing video games entirely if you get this pissed. I mean the point of video games is to have fun and you clearly are not having fun.

Again, that's your personal experience with it. Many people had game-crashing problems with Oblivion after it came out, and the patching system was nowhere near as streamlined as it has been for Skyrim.

The patches in Skyrim keep bringing up more bugs for me they are just seeming to fix only the broken quest.

I had some crashes with Oblivion as well but that was early on in Skyrim its much more frequent and I think Bethesdas plan was release the game as is early just because of a certain release date and patch it later, that is why I think they are patching it the way they are.

The only one issue I am with you is.... yes, the characters are ugly, other than that, the game is far more than fine.

I'm happy with my character. Just needed to make a few changes.

I've never understood the 'ugly characters' complaint myself. I mean, what do people expect? Fashion models? This is Skyrim, a land of war and extreme hardships. Farmers toil in the fields day after day; soldiers patrol the lands through rain or through snow; and the land is filled with bandits, monsters, and other dangerous creatures.

I expect people to be dirty, grimy, scarred, and tired. Not spending a half-hour every morning applying makeup.

As far as the actually face generating goes, I don't see what's wrong with it. People look like people, and I don't know what else someone would expect in that regard.

That's simple, man. All the people in Skyrim, either kids or middle aged to elders, tell me this is normal? Where are all the teenages to twenty something? I don't need a mod to make younger character in Oblivion, while in skyrim not without a mod. It's about facical texture...

I want my character and my wife look about my age, not middle aged.

Wow! i didn't think anyone read this stuff. thanks for the imput. like I said, i have played many arena games and am used to bugs and problems. what i don't like is the fact that this game went backwards. it is not
a progressive step from Oblivion.

It's a game. i want to do the unthinkable,impossible,immoral,unacceptable,impeachable,unethical..I want to play a human.uncontrolled by any morality. But, on the other hand i like to help others.i like to be
a friend to the kind people i may find in this alternate reality. (if there were any.) Have a nice day1

and another thing. i have done everything for the Companions.what do i get in return? I get told that i have to prove myself to these bums that sit in Jorvasker all day!
Now i go out and kill pests in peoples houses. Those are the lamest quests that were given by the fighters guild in past arena games. This is not progress. My character
ran through the gauntlet for a secret group of werewolves just to get pest control jobs. Is that anti-climatic or what?

And another thing, since i seem to be ranting. why is it that the bodies in this game aren't on the ground? in a dungeon you can see the shadow of a body under it.
Like the body floats eight inches off of the ground.Lame again...
