I didn't mean to imply that $60/year XBL fee was needed for the DLC, I was referring to the fact that people who pay for it are essentially funding Microsoft's buying up of DLC. And its annoying that people support that business model.
It doesn't matter how you feel about DLC being released late, you're only one person who feels that way. Yes, many others may not care but there are also millions of people who are die hard Fallout fans who bought the game for PS3 but have to wait 9 months before the first DLC gets released while the 360 is on the last. Between that time those PS3/PC players who weren't able to play the game probably encountered spoilers galore.
A large publisher/developer such as Bethesda shouldn't have to resort to taking bribes from Microsoft so they can pad their paychecks. Rockstar tried this and not only were they met with backlash but their sales numbers were far below expectations. Borderlands released story based DLC at the same time for the 360, PS3, and PC. Red Dead Redemption released story based DLC at the same time for the 360, PS3, and PC. If Borderlands can get by without a cash grab why can't Bethesda, they're greedy and I won't be buying any of their products unless they're used.
Not necessarily. That fee for the gold membership could be going to support the online play features that you get access to with the gold membership. If you have a source for the information that Microsoft uses that money to buy timed exclusives, please link it.
I wouldn't know about the delay. Even though I play on pc, I waited until the discs were released with the dlc. It was far too much of a hassle to deal with games for windows live. Iirc they didn't come out with the first two until May 2009. The other dlcs were released in turn, except for Mothership Zeta. That one I had to wait for until the goty version that included all the dlc was available. My personal choice to do so, of course.
Personal opinion, but spoilers don't bother me that much. Considering I was doing moderator stuff on the forums when both the 360 players and the pc players who used gfwl got their dlc. There are always people who intentionally spoil things for others. Anyone who was around for the one Harry Potter book would remember the trolls who decided to have fun then.
Do you have a source that Microsoft bribed Bethesda? As opposed to a regular business deal where everyone had the opportunity to bid/buy an exclusive for their company and some companies declined the opportunity or refused to pay the price asked? If a company offers to pay for an exclusive, and other companies won't, why is it a "bribe"? Was Sony locked out of the deal due to underhanded business practices, or does Sony just not pay for exclusives?
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long to find what you want, at a price you're willing to pay.
