DLC for PC and PS3

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:56 am

Yep. On the PC I have access to tons of new quests and content for free. On the 360 currently I would have access to one piece of additional content at a price.

Well DLC for Oblivion still has yet to be released for PS3, so don't hold you breath. I am a PC player and hope that everyone gets it eventually but I know Microsoft and it may be a while before even PC players get it.

Has anyone developed a mod that at least adds the Dead Money perks and/or level cap increase? I think my DLC withdrawal could be staved at least a bit if I could get a taste of it :)

Im no fan boy but I really like Fallout & have both collectors edition... The only downfall is like fallout 3 Xbox got everything first just like homefront in march Xbox will get the map packs first. If Xbox is selling well then they dont need all this exclusive crap. No one who has a brain or normal care's if one is better then the other cus the PS3 & Xbox are equal matched so its a waste of time & money really to make exclusives

also give me back my exploding nuke Emoticons :nuke: :sadvaultboy:

So I've been away from the game for about 6 weeks now, just checking up on any new information about the release date of DLC for the PC. I guess I'll go back to watching the Leaf game. Cheers!

I think it is absolutely stupid to neclect PC and PS3 players by making a DLC exclusive. I′m a PC user and I would never buy a console just for a game or a DLC - and I′m quite pissed at MS for doing this to us players and at Bethesta for supporting it.
Honestly I would never trade my highly-modded Fallout III or New Vegas for some console-you-are-supposed-to-play-it-as-we-see-fit-crap (typical MS style - just think of Vista). I also think that console players don′t know what they are missing by not using a PC and Mods.

There were some things about New Vegas I didn′t like after the first time I played it through. I′m no modder myself but I highly respect anyone who does it so I just went into Nexus, grab some mods to fix the things I didn′t like and the entire experience changed. Same thing with Fallout 3.

The Fallout modding community is something special you hardly find with other games. So it would be a wise move to support it and keep it growing as these people who invest hours into improving gameplay for others without being paid are the biggest fans and most loyal customers a company can have. To piss people like these off for a quick fortune is more than a dumb idea - it can turn out as a fatal mistake. I have seen other companies - not from the computer, but the P&P roleplaying sector - making the same mistake - the systems don′t exist any more.

You have to understand that it is marketing and by looking at it from Bethesda's side. They get money from MS to keep it exclusive to the Xbox for a limited time and then they get you PC and PS3 players to buy the DLC when the exclusivity runs out. It's more money for Bethesda and some people who haven't purchased New Vegas yet may purchase it on the Xbox by hearing of this exclusivity which means MS get's something out of it too.

I'll feel totally screwed if Dead Money is not at the PS3 store by next weeks thursday.. It's already been a month, and the next PS3 store update comes next week, wednesday night or thursday night, my hopes are high, but I'm preparing mentally to be disappointed, again.

Its very disapointing and agrivating to have to wait on the dlc to be released for pc and ps3 but like someone posted earlier, We get it after the xbox folks have beta tested it and thus our versions have fewer bugs. And as long as our friends arent telling us spoilers about it, it just as new to us as it was for them. I'm still treking on with my mods from the nexus and similar sites. Exploring the new areas and quests the moders have given us. So the wait isnt too bad for us pc guys but I can understand the ps3 comunity raising hell over it.

I really want this DLC. I've beaten the game on every faction and my fav is NCR. I have a PS3. I would really like it if Obsidian/Bethesda would release it for PS3 and PC soon.

I do understand that there is an economic aspect to it (show me some product were this isnt the case) - but that doesn′t mean that I have to approve (which I dont) that some customers are more equal than others. Or that I have to like MS (which I - you guess it - dont).

360 and PC are pretty much the same; in a couple days, someone will most likely port the 360 version to the internet and convert it.
And as for Microsoft paying extra for the content: Sony hasn't payed for it. Don't blame Microsoft for wanting to give their customers a good experience, blame Sony who apparently doesn't want to give their customers a good experience. Bethesda hasn't screwed anyone. Microsoft payed extra for something that'll get to the PC soon, and Sony screwed themselves. Plus PC owners can friggin create their own mods, or download any of, what is it now, 1000's of mods? Beth won't make money off of releasing for PC, and keeping Microsoft exclusive very well could generate more money than PS3 owners would be willing to pay, since most of you are downright stating that you refuse to buy it since you view it as being screwed. Keep it up, perhaps we can make Bethesda as an entire company a Microsoft exclusive.

I have to agree with you, after all this [censored] happened with the Fallout 3 DLCs. I switched to the PC from my PS3 and I have never be happier with my gaming experience. If I didn't like something on Fallout on my PC i went to Nexus, which is by far the best / friendliest gaming community I've been part of, and fixed it with a mod. Instead of having to go through all this B.S over having to wait for a DLC to come out for my PlayStation.

I'm gonna do like PC users do in any thread where console users ask about a construction set. "Should've bought an Xbox 360."

Here am i running around in the chinese Stealth Armor's improved prototype (that actually has Stealth mode),with an italian SPAS-12 shotgun and a russian SVD Dragunov sniper rifle, while being able to scan detailed information about enemies and snipe him trough a bush with infrared vision. I don't know about you, but i wouldn't trade that for a DLC, no matter how good.

The DLC sounds interesting, but it not being available is hardly worth of starting a rant over

Basically you're just overdoing the modding making it incredibly easy..but just think. The DLC is to keep the game alive, interesting, and elaborate more on the storyline sometimes. Some of us get bored sometimes...not easily amused.

The game was incredibly easy to begin with, which is of course why i have mods to make combat and enemies more dangerous too. Of course, official additional content is always official, which mods cannot be

If it's comming this week for PS3, then it should be at the store in 26 hours, possibly in 3 hours. If 26 hours hits the clock, we'll have to wait another week to see if it is comming for PS3 or not.. My whole Fallout gameing is in a standby for Dead Money.

Because there's always a few small, narrow-minded evil people out there, who hates PC-"elitists". Never mind them, as the votes indicate they are a small minority. Microsoft, however, is truly living up to their old reputation from the nineties as Evil Incarnated. What a rotten way to put pressure on people. Do they REALLY think that those who play on PC is going to switch to X-box? They must be out of their minds as well as greedy. Well, I assume they will release it on the other platforms as well, but it is a sad way to make an extra profit.

Those who play on PC and PS3 did actually BUY this game as well, Bethesda, Obsidian and Microsoft. So cut this "exclusive" deal already!

Well I'm a big fan of fallout 3 and nv and love oblivion but I'm seriously thinking about not buying Eldar scrolls 5 in November. They screwed the ps3 players on obilvion by not releasing the dlc. So unless someone pulls the stick out of their ass I really think Bethesda needs to be boycotted.

Has is it been released for PS3 and PC yet? Is there even a date for it's release?
I appreciate the sentiment LordMephistopheles, but I don't think the boycott would be too successful - people have been waiting years for Skyrim and I don't think many of the people on the forums have the resolve needed to stay away from it when it hits stores. I'm not even going to pretend I do, even though platform exclusive DLCs svck.

Honestly, the only thing this dlc debacle has done, is make me rethink pre-purchasing any of their products until I know no back-room deals have been struck. I'd be curious to know how much customer goodwill this will cost them. It isn't easy placing a dollar value on things like that.

Also, the polling question really is poorly written. Unless its just meant to annoy the users of the other platforms. Something along the lines of, has the exclusivity deal made you re-think or negate your desire to purchase this dlc? Might have been better.

It has certainly made me rethink the idea of purchasing this DLC. It just REALLY put me off. Most likely I will not be purchasing it if and when it ever comes to the other two platforms.
