This topic is for all DLC suggestions and thus where all suggestions and ideas members have for such. There is no official news on any planned DLCs yet but we know some are anxious to share their ideas. Having central place to make all these suggestions and ideas makes for a more tidy forum and helps keep more varied topics on the first page.

I had an idea for a DLC but the topic reached the post limit? So here it is:

In my DLC idea, the boomers (with the airplane you helped them build) request you one day. They will tell you that through magazines or something (again) they have heard of a far away land where there is some amazing piece of technology or some other object of significance to them (being obsessed with blowing things up the way the are). A quest is started during which you will travel with the boomers in their airplane to an off-map area (somewhere cool obviously maybe outside of the US? and about the size of point lookout?) where you face obstacles and discover new weapons/items and maybe even perks as you help the boomers to achieve their goal.

If people like this idea i could elaborate further..

Id have to say that, thats a good base idea, for me it is anyways because the Boomers are my favorite tribe thus far. If you have that idea panned out more, elaborate for me on what it would entail.

My one and only suggestion is...

EXTEND THE GAME PAST THE MAIN QUEST. Period.

So stupid for a game like this to "end". Open-world games should have clear endings but should allow the user to continue his quest indefinitely.

I killed the Boomers, so if I buy this DLC I can't do anything on my current playthrough and is forced to start a new character.

Well, as to the people who killed the boomers, maybe this thread isn't for you? Or maybe if your standing with the boomers is too low, another powerful faction would take their place in the quest with I duno, say a vertibird or a salvaged train? But as far as my elaboration goes:

Let's say the boomers take you this far away place. It could be anywhere, a secret US military base in the Bahamas, a still-functioning and untouched airport in the rocky mountains, an old weapons factory, anywhere that would hard for wastelanders to access without flight. Since you're the first people to see this place in over 200 years, there's almost no end to the untouched technology and loot.

Or so you and the boomers think (of course). Maybe it's a platoon of commonwealth soldiers come to check up on their weapons stockpile. Or a deathly infestation (vault 22 anyone?) that has to rain on your parade. Either way, what at first seems like a "problem," you soon find to be part of a much larger subplot. The bomber only allowed for you, one follower, and three boomers to come, and without a pilot you would't be able to travel back to the Mojave. Thus, you and your follower (or you alone) are tasked with investigating the disturbance, ad finding out whether it is possible to take a diplomatic/peaceful approach, or if a battle in inevitable.

Like point lookout, you would not be able to travel home until the conflict had been resolved (the intrusion/intruders prevent you from leaving, for if they were to learn of the bomber it would be their primary target).

I hope you like this, I can elaborate even further if you think it's any good..

We can come and go as we want to in Point Lookout. :P

I'm liking this plane idea.

I could see several outcomes coming out of that. Perhaps being able to help out the soldiers who have come to check on their stockpile, or making some kind of peaceful outcome.. or just go 'WIld card' and take them both out of the picture, and keep the technology to yourself.

Yeah.. I could see that working.

My plan to pull a Ocean's 11 style casino heist where you rob all three casinos on the strip. Which is explained in all of it's detail and glory in my thread about it http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1127647-so-any-oceans-11-style-casino-robberies-possible/

That bank robbery idea would be awesome. Like, explosions and what not, game changing stuff.

And in point lookout you have to pay 300 caps to travel home, until you kill Tobar and it becomes free. My bad.

As for the boomer idea, I think either a deadly infestation (of some new kind of monster, that you possibly: have to prevent from spreading like the flood in Halo?) or a powerful military force (with both diplomatic and violent [violent yielding more loot of course] outcomes) as well as a winner takes all approach which would result in loss of standing among the boomers but amazing wealth would be fantastic.

I personally would vote for the Island theme, untouched by radiation and bombs but ravaged by wind and salt water, as well rising oceans and intense heat most of the year would make for an awesome setting. Perhaps after say, 10 hours of play you receive a perk: "bla bla its so hot out you get used to it, and require less water to survive." A secret military base may contain an extensive armory, guarded by a vast army of robots? Of course a player character trained in the science skill would have a blast here.

Good?

I would like to go to NYC. The east coast BoS has spread project purity all along the eastern seaboard and are facing trouble in the big apple with the common wealth or something like that.

The BOS in NYC idea could easily tie in with the boomer's bomber idea. Although I think NYC could easily yield its own Fallout game.

Add an Online Community feature where you can track your achievements, missions, quests, previous Fallout games, show off your character looks, equipment, stats, playtime, etc. Something like what Halo did for Halo Reach.
It would greatly expand the Fallout community and hell... if i can check out this message board through my xbox live through Fallout Community Feature.... i can kick ass while reading new posts!

I think any DLC should be kept within the southwest. Maybe something like clearing out hoards of mutant insects in the Grand Canyon area. Plenty of cool opportunities for DLC missions in the region. Or possibly something with the supermutants in the Colorado mountains.

I know it'd probably be another Mothership Zeta, but I'm thinking along the lines of a Area 51 DLC. That, would be sick.

I love the idea of a new scene OUTSIDE of the US. I'd love to see what the UK, Germany, Russia, or Israel looks like Post-War.

Yup, that would be sweet. Tons of old history to explore. A cool idea would be that nukes blew holes in some places revealing buried but still usable ruins underneath. Tons of material for tunnels/dungeon crawls. Maybe have a brotherhood of steel-like faction that preserves art and culture instead of tech. Have an enclave type faction rise up from the EU. Old semi-preserved cathedrals. And an intact papacy! It'd be fallout heaven.

That's why I came up with the plane idea. It could take you basically anywhere. Has anyone noticed how there's absolutely nothing at the airport to the south of the irradiated town? Even the buildings are un enterable. I'm thinking Obsidian set this location up for some type of DLC. If they take suggestions (do they?) I think the boomer's bomber idea would satisfy a lot of Fallout: NV players.

personally i would like to see a decent area that you can visit that is in te same locations as some previous fallout games like some areas that were in the first and/or second

the only other thing i would like is the ability to become a ghoul or super mutant/nightkin which would be cool cause to become a ghoul you would just have to get really irratiated like almost dead irratiated and then heal yourself and in like three days go to sleep and wake up as a ghoul or something like with the vampires in oblivion and then socially you would have a slightly harder time but radiation would heal you and it would just have different benifits and draw backs also for becoming a super mutant maybe you could fight some mutants and intead of killing you in that area when you died you would wake up as one or maybe just jump into a vat of FEV i could care less how its done as long as i can do it then have a place in that paticular city or whatever it is where you can buy lots of stealth boys and then prolonged use would turn you into a nightkin and then you would have to do alot of hard work to get people in the wasteland to trust you so at first you can only sell and buy from ghouls and other mutants and anyone your lucky enough to find that wont hate or attack you on sight until you prove yourself and just give you a good steath or strength perk depending on which you

i just think id be cool to see the wasteland from another point of view that way you can really see the universe from all angles which would be a nice change of place

plus i want to be a super mutant or nightkin

A Brotherhood of Steel DLC
not adding in any new areas
but giving an alternative side to choose at the end, with voice-overed rumours and radio news reports and epilogue and as many quests and effects on the world as the current three choices. One that only becomes available if you become a member of the Brotherhood before you get the Platinum Chip and then you can go and give it to the Elder and use it to put them in charge of the Mojave.
Maybe even an option for recapturing HELIOS ONE. And full support for an allies yourve picked up along the way to back them, [Boomers, Remnants etc], crippling both NCR and legion before using the battle of the damn to put the Brotherhood in incontestable command.

While travelling to another region would be great, there's alot of room for expanding the current one. And a BoS choice is something the game is lacking, especially as in this game theyre so much cooler than in the last game already. And giving you the option of not just putting them not just back in the mojave but in charge of it would be awesome.

East.

And how would we traverse over an entire country?

I don't really see what the point is for that.

Or incredibly boring: "Yay another run and gun dungeon crawler!" /heavy sarcasm

And how would we traverse over and entire continent and the Atlantic sea?

1. A Broken Steel like DLC to extend the game past the MQ. Although its better then Fallout 3, you are still kinda forced into following the MQ if you like to have you character make RP decisions.

2. Brotherhood of Steel has so much potential and it feels odd after finishing their quests because nothing changes. You bring them out of hidding and they have all these big plans (like taking back Helios One etc) but then there is nothing...not even Brotherhood Patrols around Hidden Valley. This is a bit common, such as powering up Helios One has no effect on the world, apart from some rep with different factions.....

3. Enclave......why are they not interested in the Dam? An NCR\Legion v Enclave showdown would be a pretty epic in my opinion....also, you'd think they would have wanted their Eyebot with all the logs back....

4. Some more Western area, I loved the wild west feeling in the begining of the game, but as you travel east that goes away....maybe some more land to the west  the only problem with that is that to the west is more strictly controlled NCR and i think that would loose some of the wild west charm.
