Does anyone that bought it on release still play Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:24 am

Skyrim is the perfect game. i've taken a little break as i wanted to see if Morrowind was as good as everyone says. it's a good game but it's not better then Skyrim IMO. i haven't beaten the MQ of Morrowind and i'm working on a big mod right now but i'll be back.

HERESY!!!!

I'm on the fence about D3, having seen the radical changes to character design and growth from D2.

I'll still be playing Skyrim when it comes out, so we'll have to see.

If you liked D2, there is little reason to not like D3. It fixes a bunch of incredibly annoying things about D2, such as the god-awful bartering and the associated scams, no respecing, attribute requirements on gear, few viable builds, etc..

I'm getting it chiefly because hardcoe mode really gets my adrenaline pumping.

How do you keep it exciting!? How haven't you grown tired of it?

I see. Atleast you can wait for mods. I can't...

I'm still playing. Took about a week's break in total to play Dark Souls and KoA: Reckoning. Hated both of them - went back to Skyrim because it's infinitely better.

The game is not as repeatable as past ES titles. I've said that all along- I've 567 hours in. Stopped playing in Jan- started again a week ago and am getting bored.

Many persons unhappy with direction of Skyrim have left the forum and are not here to weigh in.

Presume Bethesda knew what it was doing as so many are very happy.

I'm still playing and when I get bored, I just play a different character-type and change the way I RP with that character. I don't look at it as finding and completing quests, I just live as my character would in that type of universe. Of course, I can't devote as much time as I used to and I'm still finding new things by taking different routes after the opening sequence. New DLC will still be most welcome, of course. :)

Got it on the 8th of November and is still playing it. I have a whole bunch of characters now and the DLC could help a lot :)

Yup, as often as I can find time for it, and when I'm not modding.

I play heavily right now. Building a mage that foucses almost entirely on Illusion magic. It's hard.

I took a long break though. That's to be expected with games like TES. You do what you want for a while, get bored, then think of something else to do and come back. I oscillated back and forth with Oblivion for the entire six years it was out.

No other game has that kind of staying power.

500hrs and it's still eating my soul.

All those mods aren't helping my social life either.

Playing without God weapons/armour or lame dagger/bracer spam, no power levelling and very, very light armour (fur/forsworn) as an assasin is one of the most exciting characters i've played. The risk of death is always there so have to approach every fight with thought and planning.

I started playing on release day, and according to Steam I have spent over 1100 hours playing Skyrim, but found myself at a loss just the other day when my level 15 Orc was killed and (presumably) eaten by a skeever.
I quit the game in discust and tried to console myself by playing Blind Falmers Bluff, Pin the Tail on the HouseCarl and even Hide and Go Seek the Greybeards in the real world, but alas it did not work. My dad is still rather angry about the last one, and I don't blame him!
All of these things just made me want to play my favourite video game again, which I have now done by starting a new character!

Preordered, but didn't get it until a week after--mistake by seller--they sent me the XBox copy when I ordered PC copy. Still playing, but then I have mods, six characters that I cycle through, and play each one differently.

I've played it just about every day since it's release on 11/11/11.

I took a break for one week when Portal 2 went on sale for $10. I bought P2, beat it, and went right back into playing Skyrim.

To be honest I am looking for a good reason not to play. Right now that could be:

1) Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition goes on sale. Never played this game but loved FO3, so I'm looking forward to it, just waiting on a sale.

2) BioWarEA releases Mass Effect 2 Ultimate Edition. I borrowed my brothers and loved it. I bought ME1 for $5 on a STEAM sale so I have saved games waiting. After what is happening to ME3 though they may not even make a ME2 UE so this could be a long wait.

And ... that's about it. Really no other PC games coming out that I'm waiting on so I just keep playing Skyrim. 550+ hours in now and I still find new locations quests. This game is sick.

I got it on release day. I started playing a few days later. I think I've been playing Skyrim pretty much every day since then.

How do you keep it exciting!? How haven't you grown tired of it?

For me the new killcams and mods helped but the real trick is multiple characters which are very different and take different paths and really roleplaying them. Plus take your time to smell theroses, catch unexpected NPC to NPC conversations etc. There's lots of fascinated little details in the world if you stop look and listen. I'm going to log off and play Skyrim for a while now.

I haven't played Skyrim for quite a while now.

I don't want to exhaust it, as i'm planning on playing it more thoroughly in late 2012 / early 2013 when there's hopefully some DLC and a wider array of great mods to have a completely overhauled experience.

Never beat half the questlines(That includes the DB, Civil War, Bard(?), Daedric and Main questlines), have never been to Riften and haven't really played it since 2011. From January till now I probably have like 2 hours of gameplay. Mostly just testing mods then getting over it. Just recently uninstalled it and wiped all my mods and save games. I am going to comeback once I feel like there is a point. Seeing quite a few great mods out there but not yet, not yet. Probably play it again after I beat the Witcher 2, Dragons Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur, Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Morrowind, Fallout New Vegas's last two DLC and finish Dark Souls. [censored] I have a lot of games on back log. Damn you school, work and social life! Taking up all my time...

I have played a little Oblivion between now and November. I was getting burned out on Skyrim, then I began adding mods.

I stopped playing back in February. It's a damn shame really that a SUPPOSED TES RPG has so little replay value.

I haven't had it since release, but a few weeks after. And yes, I'm still playing. Truly amazing game, with so much content and so much replay value. I'm almost 200 hours into my current character and haven't been to all of the cities yet. I'm on console as well, which goes to show that its an amazing game without any form of mod :)
