Does anyone that bought it on release still play Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 3:30 pm

You guys seem to still have a lot of fun with this game.
Any tips? I am thinking of starting a new character. A khajit maybe. Any ''class'' except magician(because it svcks) would do.. Anyone got some tips for how to keep the game as interesting as possible for as long as possible?

I started a Khajiit archer/brawler, I soften them up with my bow and finish em off up close with my bare hands  no armor just clothing( hammerfell garb personally) and a whole lot of sneaking

I've put in roughly 300-400 hours across several restarts (due mainly to my saves messing up with each new patch  ), but haven't played much since 1.5...thinking of starting another new character.

Didn't get it until Xmas but I've put in over 1100 hours now and I'm still enjoying it.
End of May onwards I'll be playing a lot less as I'm starting a course but until then I anticipate I'll still be playing it a lot.

Sounds interesting. Do you get sneak bonus when using fists?

Only played Skyrim for the first 18 days. By then, I'd logged 92 hours, and the last few of those were for lack of ambition to pick something else back up or delve into something new. I'll just leave it at Bethesda's design decisions are a terrible match for me, and so the experience deteriorated with time.

I'm now playing Borderlands, Modern Warfare 2, Oblivion, Arkhan City, and AC:Revelations. I'm in a holding pattern (that is, I'd actually have to work out what I was doing again) on Dragon Age, Mass Effect, The Witcher, and Deus Ex:HR. I still haven't *started* ME2, Witcher 2, LA Noire, Grand Theft Auto 4, Fallout 1 & 2, and many more.

Played it for about a month after release and then traded it in. Sad to say that, but I felt the AI was dumb to the point where being a sneaky character was to easy. You would assassinate someone in the same room with an arrow and the other NPC would get excited for a moment and then say something stupid like must have been the wind. i would have liked the AI to have been more active in searching out and doing patrols looking for you. Visually, the game is great.

No unfortunately  I was hoping to be able to rip someones throat out in sneak. But the bow does the job, by the time they reach me I've already knocked 3/4 of their health down so once they reach me it's 1-2 punches and then I get a kill cam( on master difficulty) it's more satisfying then the sword, mace, axe kill cams(imo) watching your toon cave someones face in. :drag:

Sorry, toon?
And yes, the unarmed killcams look brutal as hell.

I say toon in place of character  short for cartoon, easier to type too cause I'm lazy
If you do go the same root as I did, you still should perk out the one handed tree, I`m pretty sure it has an effect on unarmed. And sneak is a must if you wear clothing instead of armor, the dragon fights are a whole other story. If you don`t use your terrain to your advantage then you don`t last very long in a fight with a dragon without wearing armor, if your not careful and "watch your steep" then you end up :swear: a lot of the time at the TV/ screen

THIS!
Though I'm at the point where I don't even bother touching the game anymore.

Me too! Of course, as an astronaut working on a cure for cancer and fighting court battles over the patent for the cold fusion reactor I invented, I wouldn't have much time to play anyway. But, I still have time to weigh in on the forums about what a crappy, boring game it is!

I had to wait till I got paid on 11/14 before buying, but I still play almost every day. Created my first Nord on Saturday. Definitely one of my favorite games, ever. Monday and Tuesday of this week was the first time I've gone two straight days without playing while I finally started Uncharted 3.

Yeah I'm playing it still, I stop for a week or so at a time..playing maybe once a week then that's it. But I've been playing daily for the past few days again. Still on my first character, got a second one lined up. Probably won't play much more than that though, with GW 2 and D3 coming out.

Every time someone says "toon" it reminds me of Jessica Rabbit.

I'm on the fence about D3, having seen the radical changes to character design and growth from D2.

I'll still be playing Skyrim when it comes out, so we'll have to see.

Various characters (the main one is a mage/assassin) and yes,i use mods...but i have even the xbox version for valid reasons (playin' in bed at night - and to have the first Dlc as soon as possible :bunny: )
