Dwarves!

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 6:29 pm

Its becuase they were trapped underground, if there is going to be dwarves in the next game, they will probably look somewhat like elves. becuase they do,

because they wouldnt have been underground all this time. they must go out for strolls along the mountian side if that were the case then they wouldnt be missing im jus say it can happen they can change and if they do then you would be heart broken for not keeping an open mind on the subject.

The Dwemer could already live forever without Corprus, Yagrum was just unlucky in catching the disease while trying to find any other Dwemer in who did not become instant ashpiles when Kagrenac struck the heart of Shor. The whole point of the Numidium was to be able to exist from Kalpa to Kalpa. If they came back as Yagrum clones, they would be genetically Dwemer, but they would not be Tonal Architects and powerful Mystics, they would be one more Elven variant in a Bethesda Game.
One or two could possibly be trapped somewhere, or a persona stuck in the body of an Animicula trapped in a chamber in some remote ruin.
The Numidium still exists, so the Dwemer can always be brought back to stomp around Summerset Isles (again), but as a race of immortal ubermer they are gone until the next Elder Scrolls game.

What evidence do you have to support these conjectures, especially the one about being able to live forever?
Its an interesting theory, but what supports it?

Dwemer are elves. Nasty ones at that. They tortured people and had wars so as to further their goal of becoming an eternal spirit.

The falmer, after being butchered by the nords, seeked shelter with their dwemer cousins. And the dwemer harbored them for a time.
But they became paranoid, forced the falmer to eat mutant fungi. They became goblin-like and slaves to the dwemer thereafter.
Untill some of the now mutant falmer broke free to enact a rebellion against their former masters. Becoming xenophobic after the dwemer disappeared.

So no, MorGame, what they did to the snow elves was not in-fact 'badass'. It was horrible, cruel and villainous of them to do so.
And I do not want them back at all. For all I care they can stay in Limbo between Mundus and their dream of the First Gradient.
But unfortunately, what the dwemer race became after Kagrenac used his tools on the Heart of Lorkhan, the Numidium, will supposedly go 'offline' soon.
Soon as in.. the 5th Era. So we might see some kind of appearence from the dwemer. Well perhaps in ashen and construct form? urgh.

I also don't buy that who ha that the Dwemer enslaved anyone either. they were the most disconnected of the Elven races, and had CONSTRUCTS, for what reason would they need slaves when they were perfectly capable of building fortresses as "homes". I don't buy the propeganda, and M'aiq says the Dwemer didnt do anything to the Falmer. lul

Many of the races look different in Skyrim. Better textures, better sculpting, less cartoon like, etc.

I think if you you look hard at both picks you can get a decent idea as to what they would look like in Skyrim.

I think if they were in Skyrim, they would be a bit more hardy than they were in Morrowind. More like the Orcs and less like the other Elves. They would still be representative of Babylonians and they always were human sized.
Traveling the ruins in Skyrim, a human sized character can sit in a chair and the size matches up just fine.

Size of armor is a moot point. Any armor will fit any sized character within the games.

While their disappearance is still a mystery, one thing is certain. The heart was the cause of it and if there is any chance of their return it was with the heart. I can't remember if the heart gets destroyed or not (or was it optional, I think Morrowind had something like 3 different endings, 2 normal and 1 hidden). Does any records within Oblivion or Skyrim talk about the heart's destruction?

There will be no hints to the mystery of the dwemer until the fifth era has been reached. Many battles lie between now and then.

They were already using the Heart of Shor/Lorkhan as a power source, just like Dagoth-Ur and the Tribunal prior to the events in Morrowind.
EDIT too used to using Shor/Lorkhan/Akatosh still.

Who's going to clean out the pipes? fix the constructs? bring your meal in a nice, orderly manner? eh, it sounds like that was the job of the falmer.

They are extinct and cannot come back.
Possibly a dlc set in the past would be nice, but I wouldnt expect any meaningful dialogue with Dwemer.
They are just too strange.
theres not any meaningful dialogue at the moment anyway

They needed constant access to the Heart and a yearly replenishing ritual.
It also only made a select few godlike.
Furthermore the events of Morrowind broke the enchantments on the Heart.

They weren't a 'High Class' race. They were brutally defeated in a war with the Nords and driven underground.

its possible that when they dissappeared they were sent forward in time, similar to the way alduin was, however I doubt bethesda will bring them back; they are more interesting shrouded in mystery then they would be if they came back

The whole concept is mind blowing in this game, we got mer which are elfs and human races call them elves for fun, but for some off reason dwemer a typ0e of elf gets call a dwarf by people in game. its odd and makes no sense but you have to go with the flow.

Why did Bethesda ever insist on calling the Dwemer "dwarves?" They could have easily avoided all these questions and people confusing Dwemer with typical fantasy dwarves. Dwemer should never be called dwarves in the game, it makes absolutely no sense in the game world; the word "dwarf" shouldn't even exist in the game. Was this just another way Besthesda tried to appeal to more casual gamers? I think they should have just stayed with the word dwemer, it makes the world of the Elder Scrolls more unique.

Dwarves are elves..

(total mind**** to new player^^^^)

Basically they are not your cliched, little gnome-like drunken axe-wielding fellows, they are in fact an ancient race of brilliant but phsycopathic elves who inventeted rocket ships and torture traps... they are called Dwemer.

Just like high elves= Altmer
Dark elves=Dunmer
Wood elves= Bosmer
Snow elves=Falmer
Orcs=Orismer
So.. Dwarfs= Dwemer

but wouldnt dwarf mean shorter??? So its an elf but a reallly shorter and stubbier elf right?

dwarf (dw?rf)n. pl. dwarfs or dwarves (dw?rvz)
1.
a. An abnormally small person, often having limbs and features atypically proportioned or formed.
b. An atypically small animal or plant.
2. A small creature resembling a human, often ugly, appearing in legends and fairy tales.
