Dwarves!

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:36 pm

I'm not really sure if you're serious? We are discussing lore here. The feature you're talking about is there because it would be inconvinient to have 2 sets for each armor. If Dwemer armor found in ruins was too small, then you wouldnt be able to wear it. If you want proof on this, try picking up the club of a giant.

no that was my point it was someone else trying to make a point of the Dwarves in skyrim being tall cause all the armor you find fits i was just pointing out the obvious

You must me joking. Games aren't a full representation of the TES universe. You must use your [censored] brain to look beyond what you see in the game... It wouldnt work like this lore-wise. Thats what we are talking about. LORE!
Lore had to be written sometime so why can it not be continued upon? if i go out and find a village of mermaids tommorow do u think 1000 years from now they wont talk about it?
Lore is linear it never stops.

God you are dumb, aren't you?

The armor fits because it fits. Look no further than the Giants club to find an example of a weapon not suitable for a nord to use.

Sorry to break it to ya, but LOTR style Dwarves will never be in a TES game. I can promise you that much. Just face it, thats the way the lore is. Thats the way it will be.

hey i dont mind the lore... im just sayin all of the books i have fond in the game doesn't mention their size but everything else is in some way simillar to what, I for one am used to when it comes to dwarves. they could change and evolve to match their inviroment.. so on that in TES they can be pale and lacking in vitiam E.

I think I understand it now, thank you.

So basically they didn't like being near the bottom rung of creation, and wanted to transform themselves into God-like entities. By studying the Heart of Lorkhan and other parts of the world, they determined that they could accomplish this through the creation of the Numidium and the binding of themselves to it. Only the plan kind of backfired and they "poofed" out of the plane of Nirn when Kragrenac tampered with the tools.

Yes, basically.
Instead of a lot of little souls, they wanted to be one giant one.
It is unknown why Kagrenac's plan backfired, why Numidium did not come to life.
It has been postulated that the Triune could have shut down the awakening god, they did use the Heart themselves to become gods.
But when Kagrenac struck the Heart with his Tools, all the Dwemer except Yagrum poofed out of existence.

And possibly those Dwemer that Skyrim mage claims to have met in an outer realm.

Just go and play the previous games. The first two are great, and free to download. Tes 2: Daggerfall has a gameworld on the size of the UK and well over 1000000 citizens in total.

No real reason to be pale if you live underground in TES. That sunlight isn't electromagnetic radiation as in our universe. Day is when you can see the light of Aetherius, magic leaking into the real from the hole ripped in possibility that is the sun, and at night you are looking at Oblivion, with the stars smaller holes ripped through those planes.

Because you used LOTR as an example, so I decided to do the same.

This is the reason why people can use magic in TES.
Basicly:
When creating the world, some of the gods abandoned the others before the world was finnished. This created "holes" to Oblivion and Aetherius, which can be seen as stars and the sun. When you use magic, you pull power from these holes.

"
What is the sun?

Magnus is the sun, the largest hole in Oblivion, and the gateway to magic. Magnus was present at the creation of the mortal plane, and, in fact, was its architect (Lorkhan was its advocate and inspiration). Prehistoric (before ME2500, startyear) Nirn was a magical place, and highly unstable to the first mortals. Magnus then left, some say in disgust, and Oblivion filled in the void with the Void. His escape was not easy, and tatters of Magnus remain in the firmament as stars.
What are stars?

The stars are the bridges to Aetherius, the magic plane. They are perceived as holes on the inside surface of space. Because they are on the inside of a sphere, all stars are equidistant from Nirn. Larger stars, therefore, are not closer to the mortal plane, they are just larger tears in Oblivion. The largest tear in Oblivion is Magnus, the sun."

I promise you, "classic" dwarves will never be in TES. Just like The other Elves are unique. The Dwemer MIGHT return, but in that case, I'm pretty sure Bethesda would stick with the lore they have already written. I know how you feel tho...

If you like Khajiit you may be interested in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1327271-return-false/page__hl__mane
It talks about Khajiit climbing to the Moons because they had the sugar to do so.
They build a colony up there and their leader, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mane, becomes the third moon.

And posibly those Dwemer that Skyrim mage claims to have met in an outer realm.

I'm curious about these Dwemer that the mage talked about meeting. Yagrum has the excuse of Corprus for being alive. What do these other Dwemer use to live this long?

Maybe Kragrenac's plan wasn't a complete failure, and some were made into demi-gods in a different plane of existence. Maybe these Dwemer were also in the Outer Realms when the others disappeared, and they've managed to keep alive somehow. The mystery of what exactly happened is very interesting.

Its becuase they were trapped underground, if there is going to be dwarves in the next game, they will probably look somewhat like elves. becuase they do,

It is indeed :)
Possibly the sheer fact of these Dwemer being disconnected from the Mundus is what keeps them alive?
In that case not so much alive as suspended. Maybe they cant come back now because all those years would hit them at once.
I dont know, Im just swinging a bat :)
