European Launch Thread

Continued from here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1122532-im-from-the-uk/

Just thought I'd make this as hearing about everybody receiving theirs made me feel better about waiting for mine. Plus it was a good place to ask questions.

If this is a stupid thread just lock it :D

I just picked mine up half an hour ago. I have to say I'm a bit... Surprised; I guess, to the size of the F:NV CE. I though it would be bigger. Granted the only CE I've bought before was the BS2 one the size of an LP record and thick as a wrist. The F:NV was smaller then the area of a piece of A4 paper

Got it as well 2day - surprisingly fast delivery considering the normal time and while knew with steam I couldn’t play it until tomorrow very frustrated to find out can't even install (and more importantly) patch it before the US wakes up and lags the download speed to hell :(

Latest dispatch I've managed to get from Amazon and get it the next day was around 7/7:30pm, so, you have a few hours yet. I've never had issues with amazon not delivering something by release day, so assuming you get first class or better, I wouldn't worry.

My collectors edition is supposedly in the hands of parcelforce, am waiting for their tracking site to update (apparently it should by 6pm)...

Hey guys wanted to share some info on when the game will be available to unlock on Steam, Direct2Drive, and Gamestop digital download.

On the 19th:

12:01 AM Pacific Time (PST) for North America, Central America, and South America.

On the 22nd

12:01 AM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) for territories other than North America, Central America, and South America

Just so you know the exact time to expect it and for American release it was more like 12:03 by the time it unlocked.

Won't be getting mine until next week. I almost regret buying the cheaper boxed version instead of the digital download one.

I would expect 1am rather than 12:01am. Currently 4:07pm in the UK and the Steam store page says 9 hours left. That puts it to at least 1am.

Came home from school to find a package waiting for me... I ripped it open and it turned out to be something my brother bought. :(

Then I find another package and it was my game! AAAAAAAAH! Redeemed the code for the Classic Pack. Letting it install on my PS3 now. I haven't received my guide yet but I'm not bothered about that. I'll probably have it tomorrow. I can't play much today anyway.

What do you get with the CE?

Fallout: New Vegas game disc and matching cassette (Duh)
Seven casino chips, one from each major casino in FN:V.
One Making of Fallout: New Vegas DVD
One deck of cards to play with. Including a card with the rules for Caravan (The deck has all four colours but the backs are one model of the seven big casinos a.k.a. fifty-two cards plus two Jokers from seven sets of decks)
One All Roads hard-cover graphic novel (Forty-ish pages) about the day before New Vegas starts
And my favourite: One Lucky 38 Platinum chip replica (Steel I think) with the dates October 23rd, 2077 (The day the nukes fell) and July 11th 2281 (Start date of Fallout: New Vegas) encoded onto it via Morse Code and a Roulette Wheel combo.

What platform did you get it for?

Edit: Forgot about you. :banghead:

PC.

Edit #2: Typo

Bah! If it weren't for you Scots and Irish there'd be no such thing. lol Ha ha.

I'll be activating mine some time tomorrow afternoon so hopefully will miss the rush of enthusiastic Europeans kicking Steam's doors in and getting clogged in the door frame.

Just put your clock back two hours and see if it works. We're always messing with time in my country, it's just a concept, as long as people agree, it can be any time. Contact your government and have them declare a new standard, call it, FLT. Fallout Launch Time. All clocks go back to GMT for a day. :)
