Exclusive Download On a Multiplatform Game

As you shouldn't we 360 players usually end up just beta testing the DLC for all you fine folk.
Skyrim is still one big beta test.

As I have said before, I really have this strong urge to point out the political relevance of the OP...but I'm gonna behave myself.

Long story short, they don't owe it to anybody to release the DLC for all three platforms at the same time. There is no fair or unfair to it.

Hello again.

I do not believe in exclusive content on multi-platform games. It alienates part of your fan base. If the game is exclusive to a system that is fine but if it is sold on PC, PS3 and X-Box, then the DLC should be available to all at the same time

How do you know PS3 / PC fans feel alienated? Because I play on PC and certainly do not feel left out. You can ask the forum and see what people have to say. And a timed exclusve is a bad thing but a permanent exclusive is an OK thing? I just don't see where you're coming from.

Considering that this is a multiple platform game (PS3, PC, & X-Box) and regardless of platform all of us have paid about the same amount for purchasing this game. Why is there exclusive download content? Even if its just for a month, it is totally unfair. I have many games from Bethseda, but I am seriously considering avoiding their products if this policy continues.
...okay... PC players have console commands, the Creation kit, and mods, XBox players have Kinect commands and DLC exclusivity, and PS3 players have... ummm... yeah, not sure what they have. The point is, every console has its own perks. DLC exclusivity is just XBox's. Every Tom Clancy game is going to have DLC exclusivity on the XBox from now on as well.

Then why post what you think in the first place if you don't like the fact that lots of people disagree with it?

In the past Sony was able to pay for the exclusivity of the entire game, and that was a permanent exclusivity. Those days are luckily over. Thirdparty devs now develop multiplat, at least you don't have to consider buying a secondary console midway through a generation.

However exclusive DLC does exist. It can be annoying but it is reasonable. Besides this si only temporarily. Sony paid Ubisoft for permanent exclusive DLC for Assassin's Creed III. I think Bethesda did a nice thing, they took the money but not at a too big expense!

That's not true. Exclusive DLC is a Sony thing as well. They're even paying more as they pay for permanent exclusivity. Red Dead Redemption had it as well, and so will Assassin's Creed III.

Omg..It's just 30 [censored] days.

That's just the minimum days the Xbox platform gets first dibs on for the first two DLCs only.

But has anyone seen an official announcement from Bethesda with the Dawnguard release date for your PC or PS3 ??? Didn't think so.... likely to be a longer gap, especially for PS3.

Sure, you're entitled to it and to express it, like you have. But when you say this move alienates PS3/PC gamers, I challenge that statement. You should expect that when you post your opinion on a public internet forum. There is a certain irony in claiming that everybody elese's opinion is not releavnt to you after you've posted yours in the hopes of swerving Beth's on timed exclusives.

Do you also want PC users to pay more because they have access to console commands and mods, and they had a special graphics patch? it would only be "fair".

For Skyrim, it is true. I didn't say XBox was the only one, I was just saying that when I watched the Microsoft E3 press conference, almost every developer that came up (Tom Clancy, for example) ranted off "XBOX DLC EXCLUSIVE."

If a game is exclusively on X-Box, I couldn't care less. I would never owe that system, so the games on it are unimportant. If I spend money on a game I expect the developer to be fair to all it's customers. The fact that so many on this forum keep with the "life isn't fair" line should know that I'm well aware of that. However, Bethseda is not owed by Microsoft, it has game players from 3 different systems therefore to give to some and not all is by definition alienating.

Why do you seem to think Bethesda is a charity?
It's REALLY simple, Microsoft paid for a months exclusive DLC, Therefore, they got a months exclusive DLC.
Bethesda does't care if it's alienating some of the fans. The only way they would care is if those fans could outbid Microsoft and pay more. You cant, so don't complain.

"By definition"? We are all by definition alienated, those of us not playing on the 360? I'm not. Or am I alienated and just not aware of it?

The truth is, you want something at the same time as the 360 players, and you believe Bethesda has some obligation to sell it for all three platforms at once. They don't. It's their game, and they've made an agreement to the contrary, so how could they have such an obligation?

Ok then. The problem that I have with your line of reasoning is that you're making this a moral issue, and there is none here. What's unfair about privileging Xbox gamers for 30 days? What’s morally reproachable about that? Beth is not rewarding Xbox gamers for their good deeds, in which case you might be able to point out PS3 and PC gamer's equally good deeds and cry out "Inequality!". No, this is purely a marketing move. Beth is handling 3 different gaming platforms differently. Sounds reasonable to me.

You know what would be really unfair? If you never got the DLC and it was Xbox DLC only.

Seriously...
