*glances at HD's avvy*

And would you argue with that?

*cough*

On topic, I do wonder if this new game will cover more people who weren't able to shelter in vaults. How did they survive?

I'm totally going to nick someone else's tweet here and ask if we can dress as Buddy Holly. There should definitely be some sort of lounge singer impersonation level.

Just wanted to re-state for this new thread my high levels of excitement for this new game based on the Fallout universe. I'm glad it's gone to Obsidian and that Bethesda picked them. I hope that this game will bring something new to the Fallout series but also bring back the dialogue that I and many love from Fallout and Fallout 2.

I will also restate that I would prefer not seeing the BoS, the Enclave and Super mutants in this game.

edit

I would MOST like to see an explanation as to how people live their daily lives such as food and water supplies, jobs they do and their future plans.

I'd like to see a New Reno approach to this game, where the center is human based with no mutant like creatures, except ghouls, walking around. Also any of the unusual creatures should either be underground or bordering the city as humans have forced them out. I think a mafia style controlled city would be fantastic, with the providing the citizens protection (police/army), supplies (food and water via farmers and shop keepers) and a future with projects being planned. However they are very corrupt and rely heavily on violence, prostitution, alcohol, drugs and control. We as a the main character could either take over the city or help relieve it of some of the worse elements. On the borders of the city we get to see the monsters we love killingand science bases we exploring/looting.

*Does anyone remember the comedian in Fallout 2? I think a lounge singer would be a great gag/reference.

Actually.... Since the BOS of DC are considered an offshoot/rogue sect of the cult, couldn't the Vegas BOS be the regular lovable tech-hogging xenophobes we all remember?

OOOOOOH MY GOOOOOOD. :o @_@

I'm sorry I can't contain my excitement for this. I fire up nma to read my daily fix of fallout news and what do I see? Not one, but two abso-friggin-lutely fantastic, mind blowing bit of news that made me wanna scream.

Not only there's MORE Fallout coming, but also Beth super-duper smartly handed it to Obsidian, without rushing to another sequel, and had them give us their take on the revamped Fallout universe.

I'm out of words. This is brilliant, this is genius.

Kudos Beth, Thanks, Hats off, I bow to you and what have you..

They could be, but my geography is terrible. All I know is Lost Hills was the BoS HQ. Midwestern BoS were sent there on orders as were Lyons' division to D.C. And again, depending on the timeline depends on if we see BoS in Vegas at all. That's not to say there wont be a tech savy faction involved, or even a faction that managed to get their hands on some PA. But the BoS itself, without real good reason, shouldn't be there in any prominent way.

New Reno wasn't exactly my favorite area in Fo2, so I hope NV won't be exactly like that.

It should be interesting to see what Obsidian's take on things are. And for the love of God, use the original Power Armor stats, please?

I think the reason would be the area's history of bomb testing and stockpiled technology.

Keep in mind that Nevada is where Area 51 is, I foresee a lot of experimental tech and alien references. :P

A take on the war between the BoS and the NCR would be interesting. Or the expansion of the NCR. Another possible story arc would be the initial expedition of the Harold and the other guys to the Mariposa Base that created the Master.

The history of the tribals would also be interesting.

This is very interesting news, especially for the traditional fans. Lets see how hardcoe Black Isle Obsidian gets with this.

That's what I want to know... But I can find anywhere if the new project will be a stand-alone "Fallout 3 in Vegas" or will they have freedom to do as they will with the engine and assets? [My preference]

All we really know is that it is {sic} "Definately an RPG", according to Hines, and Beth apparently approached Obsidian, which makes me think it will be a bit more "traditional".

Other than that, we will have to wait for more info. I'd REALLY like to see a modern implementation of the traditional style of gameplay. With Obsidian, we might get the top down view also, ala NWN2.

I know this is a stretch, but has anyone thought of the possibility that Beth is giving Obs this opportunity to see how well they do, and if it is recieved well enough by the fans and sales are good enough, that they would then give all future Fallout sequels to them to develop. Which would give Beth all of theur recources to work on TES games..And by having them do a spinoff now, If it is not well recieved Beth can continue with things as they had originally planned.. I realize this may be way off base, But from a certain standpoint it makes sense....
