Fun topic - Who is your most disliked NPC in Skyrim and why?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:27 am

Nazeem is annoying that he says." You do not get to the cloud district very often," right when you catch him while you are leaving the cloud district. But not enough to wish death upon him. Who I dispise the most so far is Meaven Black- Briar. She acts like her S&*^ does not stink. (insert many censored words here) No matter how many things you do for her. She stills has that massive chip on her shoulder.

True I morally will not kill someone if I dislike something... hence why I used unrelenting force once... he would fly along for abit and get up (realisticly crapping himself, and thinking... you know? maybe you and I got off on the wrong foot) oh yea that would suit me down to the ground =D

Nazeem's day's are numbered. If there was a "choke to death with bare hands" option I woulda used it on him, reloaded my save, and used it again. The little SOB jarl's kid in whiterun is dealt with...rotting in a basemant. The only other NPC I swear to god I wanna kill, resurrect, kill again, resurrect, fus ro dah off a bridge and then turn into a floating pin cushion is the jarl of falkreath.

Kayd, the annoying little kid who lives in "Bits and Pieces". Almost every time I go in there he saids, "I thought adventures were suppose to look tough". Even if I'm wearing a Dragon Armor or Daedric Armor.
There's also the kids in Dragonsreach Jarl's Quarters with their, "You're not suppose to be in here" phrase.
I pretty much dislike almost every kid in Skyrim.

And then there's Maven Black-Briar, there's something about her I don't like. Creepy woman. So much power yet so quiet.

There is a solution if you're on PC...

Anyhows, for me the most annoying is by far that crazy Talos priest Heimskr in Whiterun. He annoys me so much I always save my game before I think up a new way of killing him so that I can do it over and over and over. Mwhahaha.

Aerin, Mjoll's BFF. I decided to show Mjoll the true Aerin by reverse pickpocketing a potent frenzy poison into his pocket. He immeadiately began attacking Mjoll, and she responded by planting her battleaxe in his forehead.

Awesome. Hats off to you.

Belethors assistant, he sent some hired thugs after my poor unarmed and unarmored Kahjit. I can't find out where he sleeps.

Upstairs in the general store. Two beds.

Sven.

Having recently replayed the first few sections of the game with multiple characters, I've grown a real dislike for him, and his obsessive ways...

The dude who runs the store in Whiterun. Such a creepy annoying sales guy. "Eeeeeeeeeverythings for sale my friend. Heck, I'd even sell my sister........". Hate that guy.

Oh and Cicero.

I'm terrible with names so bear with me...

That little girl in Whiterun talking about how she'll beat me up. Just once I'd like the ability to push her down. I don't need to kill her. I just want to push her down.

The Jarl of Markarth and all his guards. He's an arrogant jacka** and they don't trust me. (with good reason after I broke into the museum and slaughtered everyone...)

That kid in Bits and Pieces talking about how I'm supposed to look tough. Go stand over there and let me fill you with arrows please.

Any of the Battle-Borns. Go be sore losers somewhere else!

The husband of the innkeeper in Riften. So what if I blackmailed your wife! Get over it and quit being a feminine hygeine product!

Belethor is a h o m o. "DO come baa-aack."

Ancano (hell, why limit myself - every high elf)

Ulfric is a racist and a traitor.

Maven Black-Briar. I'm the leader of the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood - you really shouldnt be such a [censored] to me.

Belethor. I generally overturn everything in his shop before selling stuff to him. Shallow I know, but it makes me feel better.

Also Rolff Stone-Racist. "I GO INTO THE GREY QUARTER EVERY NIGHT AND HARASS INNOCENT ELVES FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN THAT I'M A PEICE OF HUMAN TRASH AND YOU CAN'T KILL ME" "I'M GONNA DIG A HOLE-" Sneak Attack Critical for 6x damage!
And the worst about that one is, if you decide to have a brawl with him over it (is among his communication options), he afterwards sees you as his BEST FRIEND. I wanted him to hate me ... T_T

Most Liked NPCs

1. Jarl Balgruuf the Greater, He's just awesome, and loyal to his people.
2. Khajiit Caravans, Very polite, and warm.
Yeah, I just adore that Jarl. If he was among the marriageable npc's, I'd SO go for him.
And I love the face of the Khajiit with whom you can buy and sell things in the caravan. He smiles so nicely whenever I ask to barter.

I like the kids in Riverwood though.
Played hide n' seek with them and their dog.
They cool.
You serious? The boy keeps on telling me how he's such an annoying prankster and is proud of it. What a stuck-up bastard. I've already beat him up once, after which he only said that I was different from the rest and would kinda respect me. I wanted him to CRY, dammit! (it's also possible I unconsciously recognize my older brother in him, 'though -_-)

- That Argonian in Solitude. "You should see me when you get bored, stranger." LEAVE ME ALONE I JUST WANT TO SELL MY STEEL ARROWS WHICH I STOLE FROM THE CASTLE DOUR COURTYARD IN PEACE
Do that little quest for him, it's got a reeeeeaaaaally good award at the end.

That woman whos outside the smith in Whiterun. You know. Who is always, always saying the same line about her helping her father more than people realise.
I barter a lot with her, and now she says something different, less annoying. Along the lines of 'now here's someone I like to see", but it's not that.

Just curious why you think Delphine is a sociopath? She wants to stop the dragons and the Thalmor. Both the dragons and the Thalmor are destroying the world, so she's on the side of good. I'd say her only fault is that she
Spoiler
wanted Paarthurnax dead
. But overall I'd say she's a good character.
General discussion >

My hated npc's:

- Camilla Valerius and her father in Valenwood. I know I helped you get back your precious golden claw, now SHUT UP about it!!
- Belethor: stop using such a creepy style of saying things man! It's fine and dandy if you would even want to sell your own sister, like I'd care, and you're a major help in getting rid of useless stuff, but seriously, do something about your speaking style!
- Cicero: I only helped you because I was interested in you, and influenced by people who actually like you. Next time we meet, the least you'll get is an ice form shout right in your nose. Crazy annoying high-pitched character.
- Jarls from Dawnstar (because he's a lazy idiot) and Markarth (vain, stuck-up, arrogant, ...).
- the Silver-bloods from Markarth. Especially Thonar. Good riddance.
- little girl in Whiterun. Too bad there are so many advlts in the neighbourhood, makes it all the more difficult to give her a good beating.
- the orcs etc. who you meet on the roads, and insult you for milkdrinker. I'm strong enough now, so every time one of 'em even starts to insult me, it's on! And yet another body decorates the roads of skyrim ...

He he, found this in a game bandit article from july:

"Another area where there is a stark difference between Skyrim and Oblivion is NPC interaction. While Oblivion featured repetitive NPC dialog sequences, The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim aims to take NPC interaction to the next level."

Yeah, I think thats how the arrow joke was born. They meant to say "We used to make great games untill we took a Todd Howard in the head".

List of my most hated NPCs
1. EVER SINGLE KID IN SKYRIM!
2. Delphine, she is amazingly Ignorant, I also don't like the blades
3. Maven Black-Briar, Obvious reasons why
4. Nazeem, SHUT UP!
5. Rolff Stone-Fist, I don't like Racist people, especially him.

Agree with all that, but wish to add:
6. Olfrid Battleborn (a name I'm sure you know well! ... Actually no, and I don't care to ...)
7. Jordis (I really despise characters that use a 'vulnerable little girl voice' to say 'big tough girl things', and the whole harassing me thing when I enter Proudspire)
8. Ulfric Stormcloak (initially thought he was okay, but without including spoilers here, I think he's a whining, bratty, self-involved weasel twerp).
9. Maul (mostly because I just got back from defeating Alduin, and he said this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/862/mauli.jpg/, which completely obliterated any feeling of achievement!)
10. Adrianne Avennici (same reasons as other comments here - I don't give a toss about your feelings of inadequacy, and how we have to listen to it incessantly).
11. Would like to reiterate the every child in Skyrim thing - really wish they were not in the game at all, and Delphine ... ignorance and the inevitable arrogance that usually accompanies it, is tedious at best.
12. Plenty more, but canne be bothered to think about them :D

Farengar.

His habit of talking town to the PC in the most passive of ways makes me dislike him a lot. He's pretty good for a court wizard, though. Like the one in Solitude, I guess he acts how I expected one to act.

Maybe it's how necessary he is to go on with the main quest/civil war. Even if my character is supposed to be "sophisticated", "smart", or a fellow wizard, he still speaks to you in the same tone (save for one dialogue option). The fact that I have to wade through that each time and play the part of brutish norn warrior just means I have to break character for a bit. Not really a problem, but enough to make me dislike him. :V

Because of Paarthunax.
She thinks he should die just because he is a dragon. She is of the always wrong mindset that 'all (insert group here) are bad.'
Its akin to politicians declaring that the enemy isnt even human.
Nevermind that he spent the past five thousand years or so being peaceful and meditating to become a better person.
That many lifetimes of contemplating enlightenment coupled with the fact that he was able to surpress his violent dragon nature for all that time means that ole P is a better man than any of us, because we dont live so long as to achieve that much.

This unthinking adherence to a dogma cannot be anything else than destructive. Things change, to be able to successfully cope with an everchanging reality one needs to have the ability to look inward. To look inside oneself and re-evaluate goals, morals, anything.

Paarthunax is the best hope to achieve peace with the dragons. Through him there is dialogue with the mortal races, and his rule over dragonkind can mold them into something better, teach them to overcome themselves.
Without him the dragons are without a unifying leader and instead of fighting a few rogue dragons the mortals would eventually come into conflict with all of them, which would cause a lot more grief and suffering.

And that is why I dont like Delphine :)

Its really just the children of Whiterun and dragonsreach that are bad, isnt it?

Alvor's daughter in Riverwood, and the lil' Battleborn in Whiterun are the only good kids I have found. Admittedly that Battleborn kid is a wimp, but hey, he lets you go into his house and take his family's stuff for threatening that little [censored] who was bullying him. Win!

Ulfric Stormcloak cause he's a stuck up arrogant ass that either has some serious issues or was drop kicked over the nearest fence at birth.

Delphine for wanting to kill Paarthunax even after thousands of years of remaining peaceful and dormant atop his mountain, resisting every urge a Dragon would have to kill and destroy.

That kid in Riverwood that threatens to prank you every time you walk past him...

Anyway if any NPC took me out of the experience it was him. Just a stupid cartoonish character.
