Games That You Thought Were Amazing But Others Didn't

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:49 am

Have you ever had that feeling too?

My friend and I think that Agent Under Fire for the PS2 and original Xbox is amazing as well as Condemned: Criminal Origins.

What games do you think are totally underrated?

I really love the Brothers In Arms series but it doesn't get much love.

Alpha Protocol. It had tons of issues, sure, from bad design decisions to bugs, but overall I still enjoyed it.

Alpha Protocol. It is flawed, but still quite underrated.

I'm playing through it and I feel the same. A really fun game but too many bugs keeping it from being a great game, though still thoroughly enjoyable.

I've had a lot of people give me crap for liking Catherine so much.

Two Worlds. After you get past the horrible voice acting and graphics, it's an amazing game. The second is WAY better and equally disliked. I tell my friends to play it and they just make fun of me.

The Way of the Samurai series, WotS3 only got 55 as a metacritic score. I find this worrying as it's quite possible WotS4 never will be released in the west because of poor sales :(

Also, I remember trying to persuade my gaming friends into Daggerfall, but none of them got hooked. They just saw a boring buggy mess, while it was pretty much the only game I played for 2-3 years :P

Alpha Protocol that others mentioned is an awesome game. Best of 2010 as far as I'm concerned.

Oblivion is awesome and (in my opinion) much better than Morrowind, it gets too much flak. :(

Agent under fire was some good fun indeed. While they are not amazing games, I think Killer7 and Neverwinter Nights deserves a mention. Had great times with both.

It's a good game, but it would have been AMAZING if they actually finished it.

I love WotS3 the only thing I really hate about is the bugs. I can't make any swords due to that records bug and for some reason playing in the eng dub freezes the game in certain scenes, but other then that it's great game.

The Last Remnant - It had some serious flaws and the main character sounded like a moron (thanks almost entirely to the English VA rather than the game itself), but it also had a very interesting combat system, a ton of recruitable characters (something that I'm huge fan of), a halfway decent story and quite a bit of content. It was supposed to become one of Square's major IPs, but it just didn't shape up as well as they'd hoped and reviews were mixed.

I'd love to see a sequel, or at least a new IP that builds off the Union battle system.

Couldn't that be because it's a JRPG... with absolutely no connection to a Japanese platform?

That's because the main character is a moron. I played it with the japanese voices and it didn't stop him from being a moron.

But yeah, it's a very nice game, except the main character. Kinda like FF12 which is also very nice, except the main character.

Oblivion did get a lot of crap and I can see why, but in some areas I'm easy to please, others, well, don't even try. Personally, I liked it, especially considering the help it got with decent mods+SI+DLC's.

Fable.

I really liked that game, but everyone else seems to hate it. I liked both the sequels too.

Rollcage. Perhaps not so much disliked as under the radar. It is my favorite racing game, even better than Burnout and NFS Underground.

(Clearly, I prefer arcade racers to simulation ones...)

Pretty sure Oblivion is accepted as a great not only here but in the gaming world as a whole.
