Greybeard's Robe

Nocturnal Robe and dragon priest robe is more fun.

Have you noticed when Nocturnal Robe is worn on a male PC, it still displays a female body? LOL.

It's funny how it still displays the male chest hair.

I would like my Paladin / Monk to be inducted into the Greybeards, and go from Vigilant of Stendarr to a higher plane of worship. One of scholarship and study, and of peaceful resolution. He may hunt for artifacts and be the new representative of the Greybeards, and kill Draugr and Daedra wherever they hide.

I think it's unlootable the DB Armour you can't get off Assassins and the Daedric Armour you can't get off Dremora.

Except it's already quite well established that if he was a Greybeard, he couldn't do these things. There's no reason to think there's a midway point between dedicating your life to the Greybeards and being an adventurer.

Surely he cannot be fully expected to abandon the ways of the Vigil? He is still upholding the vow of peace, and is not adventuring; he is purging the world of the undead and daedra. He will dedicate hours to scholarly worship; he may even take a vow of silence. But he will ensure that the world be cleansed.

I'm likely older than your parents then. What's wrong with your generation is that they think that everything that makes sense to them must be right, and anything that contradicts their world view should be ignored rather than thought about. Think about your issue here. Is it really an issue, or are you simply trying to make it one? I could say that I should be able to collect bark from the lumber mills and build a pile of it somewhere. I should. Why didn't the designers allow me to collect bark? I can collect bark in real life!

Even if the developers allowed me to collect bark, I'd be able to find something else to complain about. Skyrim is a computer game, and thus you have to learn to work with it's limitations. If you want the freedom to do anything that you can concieve of, play a table top roleplaying game with a very tolerant referee.

the problem with yours is generalization! not that I disagree lol

Do you see other Greybeards wandering around? No.

Do you hear multiple pieces of dialogue referencing the fact that being a Greybeard means cutting yourself off from the concerns of the world outside High Hrothgar? Yes.

You have made up a story in your head as to how your character would work, but you're ignoring the facts of the game world as they've been established.

You mean the game that exists already is a boring game? Because all I'm referencing is the lore that's already established.

Not sure how complete it ishttp://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Robes#Robes

Looked at the link. Wow! So many robes that "Cannot be obtained". Beth gave us such a limited option of clothes and robes to begin with and then there are robes you can't get? Unless I'm missing something.

On topic: The Greybeards robes are nice, but don't really care if you can get them. The robes are unique to their Order and since you aren't part of that Order, Dragonborn or not, you don't get them. And that's just my opinion, I disagree with the OP.

I find it strange that they only have one pair though. Or the fact that you can't find any robes that are remotely similar.

Using arguements like "I should" isn't going anywhere. There will always be "I should"s. This is one, but if they included this you'd be here "I should"ing about something else. They have to draw the line somewhere to make the game playable on older computers and platforms. Enjoy the game you have access to, and quit worrying about what you want to have that you can't. Really... parents need to start telling their kids "no" again.

You tell 'im grandad. And send him to bed with no milky cocoa!

To the first sentence: 1. Maybe they do, but we just don't have access to the rooms/containers they store them. Or, 2. They are just four old men in a big stone building who probably don't care if they have to stand around "au naturel" while they wash them.

To the second sentence: I totally agree. Robes and clothing are lacking in the game. I don't really care for many of the robes and would have liked to have more options. Not just a few models in different colors. And hoods that match. Don't think I've found a hood that looks good with Black Mages Robes.

1.) I can understand that but the robes would get worn down eventually. Where do they get new ones from?

2.) Aye. They are lacking. I would settle for finding something similar but that really isn't an option in this game.

I agree with the OP I wish I could wear the greybeard robes or at least something like them. The robe options are limited, and the only other robes I would wear (thalmar) are already enchanted.

The Thalmor robe looks awesome. It has always annoyed me that you can't get one without the enchantment, lol.
