I argue the opposite. Declaring that you don't care what it is, you'll buy it no matter what is what will lead to one day a DLC where a duck quacks at you for 30 seconds and then deletes your saves.
I feel that the original comment was based on Bethesda's reputation of making some really fun DLC, and that he trusts that whatever they make will be of utmost quality and value.

Well vampires are kind of svcky, i personally thought that bethesda would give us some sort of way to understand the falmer, but anyway we should be happy that it has all of these features that we have wanted since Oblivion.

I don't even care what it's about as long as there is more stuff to loot and places to go.

That may be the case, but I'm a big fan of Rocksteady and its Arkham series (if that wasn't evident by my avatar) and I just got burned by Harley Quinn's Revenge.

Well, hearths are used for cooking, so maybe this is where the Dovahkiin settles down and takes culinary classes.
All new cooking perk tree!

You people seriously concern yourself with meta examples of vampires, werewolves, necromancers, anything really too much and don't focus on what these things are IN THE GAME.
Vampire in Skyrim are nothing like vampires from Underworld or Twilight.
Same is true for werewolves.
I for one love playing a necromancer character, even though all I really do as a "necromancer" is use a few raise zombie spells. I'd really like to see more vampire and necromancer content to fully flesh out two playstyles that have been nothing more than bare bones for a long time now.
For example, if you want to play an assassin there's plenty of armor and items for you and you have lots of skills at your disposal. Same goes for warriors and mages. Say you want to try to play as a necromancer? Well, good luck, because like I said earlier all you can really do to call yourself a necromancer is raise a few zombies. You can no longer create black soul stones and there aren't that many "necromancer" items aside from black "necromancer" robes.

If you look at the skill perk tree for conjuration raising the undead is a part of it. It offers similar perks for raising the undead, instead of for elemental summons, making them stronger and casting them farther away, etc. As for apperal, just go buy some grand soul gems which are just as strong as black soul gems and enchantment them with conjuration perks.

Not really a fan of vampires personally, but the reintroduction of crossbows in the ES series is quite a milestone for those who make use of the marksman skill. Bethesda dumbed down long range combat after Morrowind, where we had short bows, long bows, throwing knives, throwing stars, and crossbows. The fact that they are returning the crossbow may mark Bethesda reintroducing other features we've lost, such as spears, or the acrobatics skill. It's definitely a step in the right direction as far as function and game play goes.

I have no comment on the story line though, as while it doesn't sound particularly appealing, I'm sure Bethesda will come through for us, and I'll probably end up loving it.

oh lordy! it better not be a necromancer dlc! :(
as a vampire you already can do some form of necromancing by summoning the dead to fight for you etc :(

i was hoping for something more along the lines of battles/thalmor/empire/dovakiin/invading thalmor

The 1st is about vampires, which is lame.

The second is about necromancers?

OMG.
Yeah, too bad it isn't about the mafia, right? Because it's not lame at all.

Opinions are opinions. Oh and you want me to put the icing in the cake? The developer who was responsible for Vampire Lords and werewolves said there there might be something coming for werewolf players. It could be a new DLC. Aren't you happy? We get vampire, necromancers and werewolf DLC's. I will celebrate!

Highly doubt it. I'd think it's more likely that it's related to the Thalmor. Esbern tells us that the Great War began in Frostfall, the month immediately after Hearthfire. Perhaps the DLC will include the prequel to a war with the Thalmor?
The Thalmor DLC will be boring, unless we can join them and kill everyone or if we can destroy the Thalmor using the same methods they use against people! We need some more darkness in the Elder Scrolls. None of this heroic nonsense.

Actually, vsions (sp?) statement about possibly including the Volkihar is what has me the most excited. Been looking forward to fighting them for a long time.

Which means the vampires we encounter in the upcoming DLC are not the Volkihar. Three vampire strains in Skyrim? Oh geez.

Is that good "Oh geez," or bad "Oh geez?"

Here's the quote from the Vampire Lord Appearance thread with my quote for context.

I do wish the Volikhar made an appearance though, maybe they'll also be added to the game (Hint, hint vsions. Hi there, by the way).
Hmm I will have to think about those guys  I try to be a fan pleaser when I can

I read that thread before, And it's a good "oh geez". More vampire lore is not bad at all.

Yeah, I was more posting that for anyone who hadn't gone there. I was pretty sure you'd seen it by now.

I'm glad the possibility of more vampires to fight is a good thing in your book. The people who don't want variation confuse me.

So far the track record is decent. Tribunal and Bloodmoon for Morrowind were very good and Knights and SI for oblivion were also very good. Given that track record it will take a couple of failures before I become cynical.

It could be about Daedra - with Hearthfire being a conjuration book and all. Maybe it could add things like scamps? Dunno.
