How long did it take you to settle in?

Few months. I've been away forever, and I'm gonna try to stick around summore since summer's here.

I go all humble and wow-ish in a fourteen-year-old-schoolgirl-sees-Justin-Bieber-looking-at-her kinda way when I see someone has sigged something I wrote.

I'm totally gonna sig that now

As long as it took for me to find CD and spend two weeks here without being told off by a mod. About six months.

It took me a couple months to get settled in as well, but the second you find CD it all falls into place, I think.

Hmm, somewhere between six months and six years. When exactly I couldn't say, I tend not to remember this stuff. All I know is that I've sworn off this place plenty of times, but can't keep myself away.

I can remember names and avatars but I'm not so good with personality. Except with the certain special forumers. When someone changes they're avatar I can remember the name, seems familiar, but beyond that I go blank.

As for people noticing me, I'm sure they do. And I'm sure by now they know I'm a naughty naughty boy. But really I dunno how people see me.

Yes you are why don't you have a seat over here? :P
Anyhow when you find people with many similar interests and interesting topics it's easy to get swept in sometimes.

Eh, I've "settled in" many times throughout my stay at ESF. You become active, you learn names, you get to know people, and then it all fades. You lose touch, lurk, stop posting, and then stop coming around all together. Then in a few months you start all over. It's a cycle, one I've been through a few times. I don't think I'm "settled in" anymore.

Not long, but I don't remember how long it took. So at a guess, 3 months?

Who could forget you with such a hypnotic avatar?

Speaking of Clarkson, my friend's got tickets to go to a Top Gear recording, and he's taking me :D

Yeah, and THEY'RE the ones that are most active and feel most comfortable around the forums. Makes you feel old. That, and you have more of a life than them. But mostly it makes you feel old.

I'll always remember the names of when I was once active and had no life, though :)

Wait, you're implying I have a life?

My "life" is spent playing Dead Space and writing troperific fanfic. And hoping for whenever my brother will actually tell me when he'll be working so I can help him. <_<

That's kind of depressing, these people we know are merely an indication of our total worthlessness.

True. The more forum names you can think of off the top of your head, the more you need to GTFO of the house.

I'd like to think I'm reasonably well known here in the forums, at least in the CD, probably not anywhere else though. (which ok because we all know the outside is an evil, evil place!)

I also know a lot of people here but surprisingly I remember more names than avatars and I usually associate that name with a certain forum section or a personality trait or something.

For example I associate Max, Yacoby, Melvar and Dogsbody with programming, Zarrexaij for sporting an extremely disturbing avatar for a long time (I'm not talking about her current one).. I also associate Mainframe with that same avatar thing (ugh).

Vagabond and Slayer with 3D (and Morrowind, obviously)

Westly, Skydye, Vality, Redwoodtreesprite, Fliggerty, Midgetalien, Melchior Dahrk, Painkiller_rider, LizTail, Ronin49, Korana, Qarl and a LOT more I associate with MW Modding (do I really need to explain why?)

Sugardrive, Esme, Killaer, in other words the folks responsible for the Teamspeak channel I associate with...well...teamspeak  (What was Brad's forum name? It's been bugging me for ages but I just can't remember it!)

I still think of Rohugh as that Cyclops bot guy that dominated the Morrowind sections for years (yes when I joined I thought it was a 50% probability that he was a bot)

El Diablo and GW, Evil Fish1 and beer, Hyamentar and tea, Sheikah and thread destroying (and martial arts), ROY and rave, Leydenne and cats, Princess and modding (and photoshopped elves for some reason), Ratwar and Werewolf, Olaf and a steampunkish version of Marvin, Neuromantik and Linux/Japanese, Illusionary Nothing and roleplaying, Redsrock for literature, Rumpleteasza for literature and being too good looking to hang around a gaming forum like this, Dreadlord for his avatar...

I could go on and on, but no one wants to read a wall of text ;)

edit: also Ramm and his Priest-training and referring to everyone as "my child"
