I feel settled in enough-I know most folks who commonly post in CD if nothing else.

As for how long it took me..I joined ages ago when MW was fairly new then decided I'd re-join(because I can't recall what my old user name was..should have been Wind since that's all I ever use,I have a feeling I put a weird number somewhere after it),I didn't post much back then, mainly just lurked.

Then when I picked up Oblivion I joined again, spent some time on the OB forums..then I played FO3 and lurked around..and now here I am in CD arguing with people, talking about cookies and making bad jokes,I'd say it was about 4 months after I joined that I found CD and started to really enjoy it here.

I think most people still forget about me

No I think it took about maybe a half of a year for me to get used to things around here. This was the first forum I joined and I'm still here so I think that should say something at least in terms of my comfort level here.

Compared to other message boards BGSF just feels right whereas the others just feel like they're missing something

It's a bit hard to explain. I've been visiting and reading this forum for years, I remember stuff from as far back as 04. So I was pretty much settled in at the time I joined.

Really though, I established myself so to speak in the Fallout 3 mod forums when I was posting suggestions, ideas and criticism on various mod projects, and eventually started making my own mods. Then I got tired of the game after a massive crash that caused me to lose most of my Fallout 3 related files, and I didn't feel like going through all the work to set up my game again with all the mods I was running. I'll probably get back on the modding scene when New Vegas is released, and finish some of the stuff I never got done for FO3, most of it was designed to make FO3 more like the old games in terms of advlt content (Nothing graphic, just some very heavy innuendo :P ) and I feel that'll fit much better in New Vegas anyway.

I don't remember. It was a while ago.

Mostly I don't match avatars to names--that doesn't take long, and avatars are too mutable. I match names to personalities.
...and pine for a few personalities who aren't around much anymore.

It took me about a month to get comfortable here. I'm still comfortable.

It took me about 3 months to settle, then once I was recognizable, at least in Fallout General, I dropped out. Now I'm back, though, it should be noted, Fallout is still my main hangout. And I'm mostly a lurker...

Dunno. Long time ago. Most people I've grown to know ain't here anymore, 'tho. Don't know much about recognition for my hard work, but a few people seem to manage the occasional 'Hey, you!' and 'It's him! Geddim!' Bummer. :(

I left this forum for a while and started to settle in when I returned. Although it hasn't always been easy for me, I've always come back because frankly, it seems that the strictly enforced rules against flaming just resonated with me. Overall it's been a gradual thing, but I think I'm settled in.

Fairly quickly actually. When I joined myself and a handful of others flooded the FO3 forum with questions, comments, RPs and games that we all got acclimated pretty quickly. Then I came down to CD, posted a pic of myself and have been mister popular ever since.

Hi

Am I settled in? I don't know. Maybe. But I'm pretty sure my avatar is recognizable, so I'm somewhat known, at least.

Before your avatar change I just pictured tombstone whenever I saw you around. Now, I just picture Wyatt Earp sitting at his computer enjoying his popularity. I can't unsee it.

I guess people might remember my avatar, I do often get comments and pm's about it but I don't know if I have 'settled in' as yet.
