How long did it take you to settle in?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:15 am

This is the Bethesda forums, not escapist. Just thought I'd let you know...

Because, y'know, you can only have avatars of Bethesda games...

Dunno, I can match quite a few avatars to names. For settling in, I would say about a year :/

Speaking of which, Yiasemi's not been on in ages. I don't think she took the Rommel thread very well.

A few people seem to have gone, I havent seen theundoneone, sheikah (is that how its spelt) or frodo (to me aka guy who puts eyepatches on all his avatars) in some time, unless they post and I just dont look in those threads.

The Undone Thunderdong is certainly still around. I haven't seen the others lately, though.

Ah, yeah, I haven't seen Sheikah in a while. Weren't they related to thunderdong? (I have seen him within the last few days)

I joined in the Morrowind forums and there was a great crowd of members there so it didn't take long to settle in, fun times. When I was made up to be a mod I was relatively unknown outside the MW forums - I think that has changed now.

Yeah, you've even got your own fan thread on Nextmastermind's forum - none of the other mods can say that :P

rohugh, your a legend and http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=76896 game proves it. As for me, I was mainly on the oblivion forums then about a year after I came to the community forum and had to re-adjust.

Not too long, maybe 9 months or so. At first I tried to recognize people by their avatars, and I still do to an extent, but people change their avatars far too much around here so I've been forced to remember names. I feel pretty settled in now though.

I've never changed my avatar as a favor to the people who identify me by it. Plus I don't have much of an urge to change it.

I'll make it easy for you;

I'm the only one here that has stylish borders with some kind of name on it.

About, 2 months when I discovered CD, people can usually recognize me by my avatar (I hope) because it always has Lucario in it.

Right off the bat I was able to 'jump in' because of the common interest I share with people here.

... Its a forum about games made by bethesda... I think we all have a common intrest. Cept stomper she came for morrowind but stayed for todd.

Over the course of three accounts (I took extended breaks and forgot usernames and/or passwords) I've been here probably six years or so. Still don't really feel settled in,

Didn't it not have Lucario in it not that long ago? I think I first recognised you from some back and forths between you and Defaulted.

For me to know and recognize the most common posters not very long maybe it took me a couple weeks when I was just in Oblivion. Then maybe a month for the majority of CD.Its actually kind of cool to watch new member come and become more recognizable for the day.

I know they fight like lovers in a weird way.
Anyhow I'm not sure how I fit in quickly but it's a good time and soon it will be summer time which means a few things
1.Baby Sitting sister
2. Posting a lot
3.????????
I remember when day after day in the summer I would be the top poster most of the days.

If my avatar doesn't have Lucario in it, I've gone crazy.

@Fishy, I guess you could say we're lovers somewhat, in some form.

A little over a year in now. Started in Oblivion forums and didn't really have much to say at first. Just trying to get a feel for things. Once i moved to the fallout forums, after about nine months I started settling in. After the update I finally decided to check out CD since I had a few questions regarding it. I liked it so I stayed. Even if I am unremarkable, I recognize most of the regulars here on CD and the fallout forums. :whistling:

I would like to say that I am recognized, but I'm not sure if that's the case. IF you were ever going to recognize me it'd be by my http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/ww316/SimpsonFly/SimpsonFlyAvatar1.jpg (I had it for a year).

It was a literal Simpsonfly.

So I'm 2 days short of my 3 year anniversary. I've been settled in CD for about 18 months or so now. I only came out of the TES sections in summer 08 so it took me a while to settle in.

And yeah, my avy has been the same since Summer 08 now too. The creature creator spore threads brought me to CD and my avy is from then as a little reminder to me (and people recognise me from it and I'm too lazy to change it :P).

I spent my first couple of years primarily in the Oblivion forums - I felt pretty comfortable there, there were a bunch of "regulars" and we would joke around behind the scenes. This is an easy forum to get along in... by the time I even noticed CD, a year into my membership, I didn't feel uncomfortable posting in a topic where I didn't "know" any of the other posters. Some people move on but there's always new members to get familiar with. :)

If you mean how long it took until I began recognizing individuals, the answer is probably from 6 months to a year.
