well i actually think kinect to skyrim seems cool, but i dont have kinect and dont plan to buy kinect. But great for people that have kinect :)
And also Gstaff replied to my comment about the other stuff he said and he said this
"As Todd http://kotaku.com/5885983/bethesda-skyrim-dlc-will-feel-more-like-expansion-packs, the team are still working on something big."
So i guess that other stuff he is talking about will be a little add on that just gives us some new stuff wich is great, But not the big thing. And we are getting stuff for free guys, dont complain

I am an advlt male with a good income. I've owned almost every major console since Atari 2600 (I was a kid back then, not that old yet :)
I bought
-Morrowind XBOX
-Morrowind GOTY Xbox
-Oblivion PS3
-All DLC for Oblivion PS3 (we missed out on some)
-FO3 PC
-FO3 PS3
-FO3 GOTY PS3
-FONV PS3
-N64 RAM EXPANSION PAK!
- Perfect Dark remake on XBL

etc... The point is, I buy stuff. I don't steal games or "try them" and justify it later. I buy stuff, new. I pre order stuff. Heck, I even bought PSMove. I have PSN content I bought that I never even used, that's how freely I impulse buy stuff.

But I will never, ever use Kinect for a WRPG. And I will only ever buy Kinect when my girlfriend forces me to. She doesn't even use that Dance Dance mat I got her that she wanted so bad. She's too busy working and making money for me to waste on videogames.

Anyway, here is the point. You've got a guy like me, a life long $SPENDER OF MONEY on videogames, a huge fan of RPGs, and with the Kinect release coming out before any DLC for Skyrim... I feel almost insulted.

I know it's nothing personal, but it feels like I am being brushed off in favor of little kids who like Smackdown vs. Raw and kinect kiddie games.

I guess you no longer want my money. Fine by me, but given the recent economic trends, the people you are catering to are making way less money these days and are more inclined to pirate stuff and hack crap than someone like me.

Am I reading this correctly? The Kinect support will be implemented in a new patch coming out this month?

If that's the case maybe we'll all get something out of this. I'm on PS3 so the Kinect support is absolutely meaningless to me, but if patch 1.6 comes along and addresses the problems and bugs still appearing in my game, I'll be happy.

Check the description again.

they didn't prioritize Kinect before DLC, it just got finished first. Probably only a small group of people worked on the Kinect feature.

The DLC is almost done, as shown by the last paragraph we were given today.

Post release support has been comical at best thus far. Get a grip Beth.

On the contrary, they have already released as many patches for Skyrim as they ever did for Fallout 3 (and many of those were just DLC compatibility patches), and are still releasing free content, that they haven't done since Morrowind. And have actually hotfixed their buggy patches. And allowed PC users to beta test new patches. Skyrim's post release support has been a big step up from the past.

Since all it says is "Kinect support like shown in the game jam video", it will probably only use the microphone for shouts, which is already modded on the PC. ;)

Although I could be wrong, since I saw a video of a guy, who programmed move commands for Kinect and Skyrim on the PC. Looked like he had quite the fun playing, but his commands weren't executed as well as they can be via Gamepad/Mouse+Keyboard.

I know you locked another thread about a similar topic, but would you guys ever consider adding a Skyrim General Complaints section so we can keep the regular discussion board clean?

Neat, if you're capable of using it. For those of us who aren't, it's not really a deal breaker.

I'd love to see more of the Game Jam stuff make it in, but it's been dribbling in slowly.

They already have a video showing it in action on the main page...

Its voice support only no movement stuff.

The reason I am disgusted is because it appears that we would be forced to buy a Kinect module if we ever wanted to take advantage of voice commands, because they never said anything about using quality gaming headsets.

A lot has been fixed but Beth still has a lot too do. My Nirnroots are still Atomic in nature, in addition to 50 other issues that I could post.

And ahev actually hotfixed their buggy patches. Skyrim's post release support has been a big step up from the past.

A lot has been done but not enough. I find this announcement dumb and insulting to Beth's fanbase especially the ones who have been affected by the bugs like the PS3 users.

"A full list of Voice Commands will be revealed in the coming weeks, and we’ve got more Skyrim news coming. Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360. This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim. Stay tuned for more details." - Bethblog main page

This paragraph makes me.... Pretty sure that we will hear something soon.

No, it's not a deal breaker, but I still feel a little shafted. It makes sense to introduce things from the Game Jam video and to do so slowly, but I'm a bit confused and bothered by the fact that rather than introduce something that everyone could use, they put something that's limited to Kinect owners.

depends on your platform. consoles have been waiting for a stable game since 11-11-11, it is better yeah, but there are still  type of bugs that have not been addressed whatsoever.

It has taken a LONG time to get the game running even decently on PS3, four months before 1.4 seemed to actually alleviate the worst of the problems.

But on-topic - I think somebody's priorities over there are really ass-backwards.

Why are we getting new (broken) kill cams, new (broken) water effects, and now spending time merging kinect functionality but we still can't reliably complete the TG quest line. And we have atomic nirnroots...

I don't have a problem with people getting cool stuff for their kinect, its not really my thing but it can be fun at parties.

But can we get core bugs and scripting bugs worked on before adding anything to the game? its more difficult to fix a moving target, and regardless of how the people working on the kinect functionality are skilled there should be enough cross over to have helped with gameplay bugs that affect EVERY platform.

Ok, so I read the post on the Bethblog and all I can say is: Are you f*ckin kidding me?

Exclusive for XBox (Quests, Locations etc.)? Sorting by name, weight etc.? Why the [censored] do PC gamers need to get mods for that kind of stuff?

I sure as hell hope all they mean by exclusive is "first on XBox"!

It's just a nifty little something that already existed they're throwing out for people who can use it. It's not a personal slap in the face like so many people are acting.

There are no priorities to get straight. The entire team doesn't just work on one thing at a time. They get the people good at fixing bugs to fix bugs. The designers to design DLC. The people who worked on gamejam to... you get the point.

Its not like they decided no more bugs need to be fixed and went to kinect instead.

the real [censored] joke is we have had to wait 6 months to get these basic functions in the first place - and now apparently if your not on Xbox you have to wait even longer?
