relative left to me probably use it for a deposit on a house.

Is this a good time to buy in the UK? I know in many areas of the US (like mine) real estate has just about hit rock bottom and if you can swing a down payment its a good time to buy a first home.
EDIT:...Wait, the average house in England costs 500,000 of those squiggly "L" thingies? And the OP only inherited 30,000 of them? Yeah, I'd spend it like the OP is saying.
Wasn't there a town being sold for literally nothing?
Nah the town was being sold for $300k. We're still looking for a suitable place for an HQ where we can all travel to once in our lives, to pray and pay homage. Haha just kidding it would be one massive LAN party
If I were you, I'd do some major shopping first. Afterward I would some payments or buy a car considering I wouldn't spend more then like $2500 on shopping and $37500 is more then enough to buy a decent car or at least make a down payment for a better car.
Lucky Bastard! I just inherited a cold from my brother, and I have to say your topic really took off in a direction that I'm pretty sure no one saw coming....
