Low-Res Textures if you install to hardrive? (Xbox360)

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:30 pm

How about not, reporting topic. Just stating something does not make it so.

I would be glad to post you link confirming this with tons of proof sadly I can't due to it is against the rules to show early footage/pictures.

Feel free to google up it should be easy to find

Thanks for the reply! :)
Just so many rumors and people making up their own minds so would be nice for an official statement!
Suddenly lots of experts all of a sudden and tbh no body knows who is right or wrong!

That's because the game hasn't been released yet...

I agree.

However, it would be REALLY, REALLY nice if Bethesda commented on this via the mods or in person or on their twitter.

I find this potentially experience ruining as I always install and play games from my HDD and I would like some kind of official clarification on the matter.

How about if countless people are stating the exact same thing?

With the bonus of physical evidence too!
People who say this isn't an issue and cannot be proved because the game isn't technically released yet...are just wrong....It's like saying that yellow is, in fact, red.

No, but as detailed above, evidence and plenty of it has made it so. You're stating of the denunciation of the topic is the non backed-up statement in question, not mine.

First of all, are the textures allegedly not loading at all or are they taking their time via pop-in?

If texture pop-in is the case, could it be due to entering a new location through a loading area?

The problem is that textures refuse to load in and end up looking either like Doom, or solid colors.

Lol! Lots of people have legit copies but seems there is a lot of bitter & jealous people on here that resent that!
IF YOU were the one that got your copy early (console version) would you not be happy? I think it's great if they got a legit copy earlly! Some of you sound like if you did get an early copy then you would wait until the 11th to play it!! ( yeah riiiiiiigghhhhttt)

Then that's a problem.

Can this be fixed via a day one patch?

Just a quick correction... it's not the console version (whatever that means), it's the 360 version with the problem. It's key to make the distinction between two distinct and completely separate platforms. Helps avoid confusion, classifies things more accurately, makes discerning the problem easier on those who may be able to do something about it, etc.

Just a pet peeve of mine...

NO ONE KNOWS.
This is the problem. Its a merry-go-round of uncertainty, on whether it will be patched immediately, whether we have to wait, or whether it will ever be fixed at all.
Isn't this fun for us unfortunate Xbox gamers?

That's the point of all of these threads to let beth know indirectly and hope they notice it and include such. Whether or not it will be focused on is anyone's guess because Beth doesn't like to speak up

I like the idea that other guy had sarcastically in my other thread; of us spamming their tweets and burning torches...that would certainly get a reaction.

lol this thread is amusing. Non game-breaking, non game-impacting, likely easily patchable potential problem to a game they have not seen in person and apparently the world is ending.

I wish I could laugh in these worrying times. =[

ALSO: Something being "easily patchable" does not guarantee a fix, sometimes it means the opposite. The developer will think its so slight that they don't want to waste time fixing it, without realizing how much it hurts gamers. Do I have to bring up how From Software royally [censored] over all the Dark Souls fans?

I might actually cancel my pre-order if this is the case.

It may seem trivial to some, but the lack of some textures loading at all is something that would bother me non-stop and ruin my immersion of the game.

relax! if the problem is there it will be patched. I would guess in the day 1 patch ;) or just play of the disk for a few days until a patch comes ;)

I have to say, I excuse a lot of bugs in massive open world games like this, but if this is true, how in hell does something like this get through all your testing to your GOLD version????

Do you read? If you play off the disc, then the entire game world has lower quality textures, where as your character looks fine. It has the opposite problem of the HDD method.

I might actually cancel my pre-order if this is the case.

Exactly. This is why its a huge problem and needs to be fixed. I wouldn't go so far as to cancel your pre-order, though....

I can't do that.

I live in a fairly hot environment ([censored] apartment) that usually stays around 80 degrees F and I can't afford air conditioning.

As such, my XB360 is constantly fighting to not overheat. I play games from my HDD out of necessity.

Skyrim is a game I would more than likely play for hours on end, day after day. If I played it from the disc, I estimate, at best, my XB360 will last about a week before either getting the RROD or getting the dreaded Error E74 due to melted thermal paste.
