Low-Res Textures if you install to hardrive? (Xbox360)

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 6:57 pm

Is this an actual problem occurring? I've heard from many people that the textures actually get LOWERED if you install the game to the hard drive, something to do with a bug that causes the textures to not load properly.

Is this going to get fixed anytime soon and is Bethesda aware of the problem?

Low Res: http://images.lazygamer.net/2011/11/34xer84.jpg
High Res: http://images.lazygamer.net/2011/11/fneaub.jpg

Heres a article I found on it:
http://www.lazygamer.net/xbox-360/skyrim-on-the-xbox-360-is-low-res-without-an-install/

(Note, the article actually has it backwards, read the Update. I'm just using it for reference.)

absolutely wrong, their not shopped

if you've seen gameplay you would know the texture problem is very real on the 360

not only that but I warned people of this problem in a thread I made and got accused of flaimbait... looks like I was right in the end

not to say this is the final version, I'm sure patches can fix it or at least make it less frequent

REALLY?!

Please, enlighten me as to how you KNOW this. I'm seriously getting very tired of these kinds of posts, nobody really knows if this is true or not unless they have tested it themselves or gotten some official word on the matter.

The bottom line is it may be a real bug or could be due to pirated copies, tricks etc.

I found the source of these pictures awhile ago. These pics were taken at a pre-alpha stage of Skyrim, when the size of the 360 version was apparently 3.2gb. It is now 5.5gb.

Unreliable pictures, unreliable source, /thread

lazygamer UPDATED that article after it's initial posting on the web.

It would make little sense for texture's not to load when loading from an HDD is far better than from DISC.

Some of you are just that naive.

That's awesome if it's true, really I would love for this to be nothing but a rumor. However, where is your proof?

The sources claiming there is an issue are just as unreliable as those who claim there is no bug. Until we get some solid proof or official word nobody can be sure.

And your blind faith that there is no issue is any less naive?

Do any of them specifically give an answer to the exact reason and if this is true or not?

No.

Thanks.

you won't get a good answer here, the hardcoe TES fans will not allow themselves to believe Skyrim is anything but amazing

the truth is the 360 version does have this problem but it was either from a leaked or pre-build, if it's not it will probably be addressed in a patch

Yeah I sorta realized that :/

I hope this is all just a big misunderstanding, and if its not, then I hope the patch happens on day 1.
Just 2 more days to find out.

Exactly man, and don't listen to anyone that tries saying otherwise. I've been trying to get this point across in every thread.
