Low-Res Textures if you install to hardrive? (Xbox360)

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:40 am

I can only wait. I know bethesda isn't perfect... I've yet to see any companies kick out a game with this scope and be perfect. But nice dodge about. I am not a die hard TES fan, I didnt exactly enjoy unmodded Oblivion

Yeah I sorta realized that :/

I hope this is all just a big misunderstanding, and if its not, then I hope the patch happens on day 1.
Just 2 more days to find out.
the issue is real, the guys on NeoGaf have discussed it and it mainly only happens when on the HDD and not streaming from the disk

patch will fix it tho, I'm sure of it

Exactly man, and don't listen to anyone that tries saying otherwise. I've been trying to get this point across in every thread.
Word.

It's a real problem but I bet it's patched day one or very soon. If it occurs on release it's going to be a HUGE problem.

Why is the word "Texture's" blurred in the phrase "High Texture's"?

http://www.lazygamer.net/xbox-360/skyrim-on-the-xbox-360-is-low-res-without-an-install/ article says the complete opposite. (High res textures only available WITH install).

No no no, there is no difference in texture quality with an install. All it is supposed to do is cut load times and help with texture loads and such.

We all know what it is "supposed" to do, the question is whether these rumors are true that it's not performing the way it was intended. That being said, I would be surprised if these issues weren't addressed in the day one patch.

I thought you were trying to say that you get high res textures when installing the game rather than saying there may or may not be an issue with installing and the textures not loading properly. My bad.

Although this thread seems oddly combative, I'm glad it was here to:

1. Attract Beth attention

2. Warn against installing to my HDD

I'll be installing to the HDD as soon as I get it home because there isn't any issues to begin with.

Here I was thinking someone else was on the same page finally. I know you said you saw someone play it but then also that it wasn't for long.

Truth of the matter is, this could go both ways. Could be that it is all rumors and were all happy campers with Skyrim installed and no problems. We could also be fairly upset that the textures aren't loading as they should after installing.

I don't understand at all how anyone can believe 100% either way, we have no solid proof as to either claim and no official word. There's points to be made for both arguments but in the end it doesn't amount to much of anything.

In the end I am assuming based on my own opinion. My reasoning is even if it is an issue, Bethesda will have a major problem if it was not in the day 1 patch. If it is an issue and not in the initial patch there will be a lot of non-TES fans driven away from this game, which is just one major issue they will have on their hands.

God... from the article:

"[Update] Apologies this article is incorrect, the texture loading issue occurs if the game is installed not the other way around. We were all at a MW3 event yesterday so this mistake went unnoticed. Thanks to the abuse in the comments though, always much appreciated"

Those called journalists are taking the posts on Neogaf and writing nonsense, confusing everyone and then "fixing the ill informed news". You guys want to know the truth go to Neogaf and read....... :read:

Btw they didn't take those screenshots , they didn't make that comparison , they stole it from Neogaf and made a mess up.

You make a good point, I do hope you're right, really. I always install my games to reduce wear and tear and this is the first thing I've been truly even a little concerned about regarding the game.

Photoshopped pictures. Everything is fine. Don't worry! :) and just so you know there is a patch coming out on day one! :) :tes:

wrong. Those are actual. There are many areas in which the textures don't load. The ones I notice are the terrain segments not loading.

The other pictures someone posted up were OBVIOUSLY shopped, so I am just going to assume these are as well.

People will find anything to complain about this close to release, seriously, it's pathetic.
