I like how Mass Effect 2 handled being a renegade... It seems like, in the first one, that the renegade choice options made your character look... well, dumb (as oppose to being a rebel badass).

I had that suspicion about keeping everyone alive. I tried the game on casual mode for the end just to get the perk. I followed the tips posted here. If I sent Tali back with the survivors, she made it but Mordin died. If I sent Mordin back, Tali died. No other explanation....everyone was loyal, but I simply ran out of credits and upgrading weapons and armor just wasn't possible anymore. I suspected that you might

have to have every weapon and armor upgrade to ensure the survival of every person on your team.

It really bites that there's a finite amount of money to acquire and spend in the game.

Spoiler
I didn't have every upgrade and my team survived. I had the loyalty of everyone. I sent Tali through the vents, Miranda first team leader, Grunt with the survivors, Samara dis biotics and Garrus lead the second team.

Yeah, me too. The only downside is that I don't like having to be pretty much 'all' Paragon or Renegade in order to earn the loyalty of my crewmates.
Certain of them, anyway.

With my love of facial scarring and Things That Glow, it's probably not too hard to guess which path I focus on in this game. *kaff*

And here was i thinking playing as soldier would be boring, hardened adrenaline rush + revenant is almost as deadly as assassination cloak + widow, or area charge + flamethrower :D

It just feels i'm missing half the game when starting a non-imported character in ME2, and ME1 combat system is nearly intolerable after playing ME2. Also in ME2 you get carpal tunnel syndrome searching for resources, in ME1 you get it by turning extra items into omni-gel :lmao:

The glowing scars (along with the eyes) made me feel as if my Shepard was a Terminator, which is techically true... he just terminates Collectors.

Hey, like I said before, I got the same impression.
I was a female Terminator. Only made of meat.
YES. : D

Could have used some shades, though. The eyepiece only does so much.

I actually enjoyed mining for resources, once I got my scanner speed upgraded.
Last time I ignored the galaxy while I read the Codex.
This time I ignore the galaxy in favor of launching probes.

Haha, no kidding! If Shepard isn't probin' a planet then he/she's probably probin' a crewmate...

CAPTAIN BUZZKILL: No jokes in this post. Be warned.

Alright, so I'm actually getting the game for the PC tomorrow, which means I'll be starting over. Anything I should know about the PC version? Anything that could make it easier? (other than cheats)

Not this Shepard, thank you very much.
You, though... go right ahead.

And yes, I did, in fact, launch a probe at Uranus.
I have a very immature sense of humor sometimes.

The only time I enjoyed scanning and mining was on Uranus, because I'm immature like that. EDI's comments made me chuckle.

If you have no import saves (with the paragon ending) then you'll be a lil' disappointed. The default choices for what happened in the first are all renegade (or so it seems). The council die, you elect the human as blah, and blah.... Other than that, you're good to go. (easy peasy)

Do you already have the 360 version?

How do you change your name into something longer?

http://meforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html?topic=641824&forum=127 only works with names that have the same amount of letters as your original name.

Anyone find it funny how M. Shep smiles and shakes his head when Garrus tells him how turians deal with stress?

Also, where can I read the books I bought?

???

I changed my name from a 5 letter name to a 3 letter name, and I assume you can make it longer since it is just extra bytes.

You can send me your save if you want me to try.

How is this for irony folks. I am crippled over with irony legs and laughter at this point. One of the lead opponents of the Adept nerf thread who has from the beginning been a staunch and powerful advocate of the "Adepts are fine, and are strong" viewpoint. This person recently created a class optimization thread. Where people could post optimized builds of classes, to share and learn how to make the best builds for insanity.

In an ironic twist of fate, not a single post has mentioned Adepts. Even Biotics are sort of just taken as a "bonus skill" for most other class builds. Even the poor Vanguard had proponents representing them, but no one for Adept.

I just had to laugh and die a little inside at this persons stupidity. That will be all. :P

How do I send you my save files?

Edit: Unless there are some easy steps, I think I'll just skip the name changing. Too much hassle.

Spoiler
How come everyone is getting survivors except me? :puzzled: The only one I had was the Doctor but I chose to let her go back alone.

Unless that's the only survivors you're supposed to get?

Having to buy fuel and pods all the time from one spot is mother [censored] annoying!

I also find the scanning mini game to be conceptually weak. Why is a warship able to collect resources off probes? Why is Cerberus letting their giant investment play miner on backworlds when they could be straight bankrolling their pimp?

Any way I can boost my paragon/renegade ratings, other than having to do loyalty quests? So far I've done Garrus, Grunt, Miranda, Mordin, and Jacob, but the others I avoid like the plague because I can't seem to find more opportunities to boost it, other than doing them. Any suggestions?

Also, where are the books I buy?
