You can save all of them. I think there's an achievement for it.

I'll avenge them in my next playthrough.

Who was on your team I use mordins incinerate and mirandas warp to lower barriers, before using the beam rifle, just spam squad powers.

First time I didn't know it could use that "sit & shock" attack. It killed my team a couple of times... and I hate it when that happens. Had to take it out on my own with the Collector's assault rifle.

Spoiler
Whats the minimum number of team-mates you can have die in the suicide mission? Having every characters loyalty and the Normandy maxed out, I lost Legion after he infiltrated the tunnels as my specialist (at the door), and lost Thane when he led the second fire team (again at the door). Had all the crew saved, everyone was happy etc but I'm just wondering if anyone's been able to save their whole team without any casualties based on the choices of specialists/leaders

I finally bought Redemption #1 today, didn't know #2 was out and didn't see it on the shelf. It's pretty cheesy but I still plan on getting all four. It is telling an important story that I don't want to miss out on anything that has to do with ME.

#1 is a available for free on itunes right now.

But the inventory was both crap and unwieldly and the hammerhead is a better replacement for the mako, and coming as free dlc.

I also think ME1 fans' suggestions were flushed down the toilet.
If I'm going to be scanning a million friggin planets, let me find some that I can land on explore. Is that too much to ask, Biotards?
We shouldn't have to wait for things we should already have.
Back in the day I used to post around the ME forums, and we went through tons of threads on what would be cool for explorable planets. The very least they could have done is include this sort of thing, because the average impatient dude will get a bad first impression on the linear style of it all - unless he's blinded by the graphics and story alone. Some depth would have been nice.
In-game freedoms would be nice. More is always better; how is removing various styles of armors for your party an improvement?
Aside from romancing Tali, and bringing back some old friends, I don't see what else Biotard did that relates to some forum raves. Not that developers have to listen to their fans, but damn - if you can't take pointers from your major outlet of fans, who the hell are you making this game for?

THE ANSWER IS 0

Spoiler
Thane is probably the worst choice to be a squad leader. Maybe Jack is worse. Pick a soldier like Garrus or Jacob, or at least an experienced leader like Miranda.

You have to choose Legion for the tunnels, Garrus for the 1st team. Samara or Morinth or Jack as the biotic. and Miranda as the second team leader. Have grunt escort the crew. I think thats it, but there are other ways to keep everybody alive.

Another major request was being able to explore more of the citadel. They gave us more levels of the citadel, but the whole thing seems much smaller in ME2. Actually the citadel just svcks in ME2, should have just left it as is.

They did at least at more hub planets.

Yeah the Citadel blunder deserves a Krogan headbutt to the Biotards.
The Presidium?!? Is this some kind of joke?!?
Why didn't they just call The Presidium 'Anderson's Quarters'?
It was more than pathetic. It should have been gigantic, because ME1 fans would definitely expect to revisit it.
Again, the "more" planets is pretty worthless, considering. Scan it, chuck some probes, you never see it again.
And I was wondering: How do these probes make it back to the Normandy? How is it that a few probes can deplete a "rich" planet? It's not like Galactus svcking a planet into Oblivion. And these "rich" planets are supposed to have had some civilizations at one time... gee whiz, I sure as hell wouldn't want to explore those ones! I'm glad Biotard said screw me! Normandy can't be the only ship in the universe scanning planets - how many probes have been launched into all these planets?!?

not very many of them have annomilies on them to land on. out of like 20 planets I scanned in my game I only found like 5 landable ones with just tiny tiny missions.

Considering the amount of planets in the game, 1/4th of them having anomalies is not bad. (according to your statistics)

Anyways, you don't even have to scan a planet to find an anomaly. Just orbit every planet in each star system and EDI will tell you if it has an anomaly or not, then you just have to find the landing zone. Most of the missions aren't "tiny tiny" either, and some of them have a quest chain where you have to follow the trail between like three planets to solve the mission.

Starting the suicide mission. There should have been a save option halfway through the conversations. <_< Now every time I want to start it again I'll have to start from the beginning.

Spoiler

Putting Zaed in charge of the fire team probably isn't such a good idea considering he's not loyal to me. But he's got experience with leading bands of mercenaries.

They're also extremely linear and generic like ESCAPE, or SURVIVE UNTIL PICKUP. Its this kind of content which gives me no motivation to replay the game.
Someone on a different forum board said that in their next DLC they're releasing a MAKO like car to drive around in? Is this true? Will I have to pay for this?

The fact that the missions are linear isn't a fault of the game. The game does what it does very well, wether you like that or not is another story, but if you think this game is bad you will cry at some of the really bad ones out there.

This is the problem, they changed the combat and character skills/inventory to make it more accesible to FPS players, and at the same time add stuff that would turn them off the game, so they arelosing more than gaining as alot of people were unhappy with ME2 on the Bioware boards at release.

I for one enjoyed most of the changes. The combat in the first game wasn't great, and now that I went back to replay it a bit it's almost unbearable. ME2's combat is so streamlined and works so well that it's almost impossible for me to play ME1 at this point.

If ME3 keeps what ME2 did right and then adds a bit more depth to it and a bit more open areas like the citadel (I will admit, when I got to the presidium I literally went "what the [censored]?") but apart from that I enjoyed the locations in the game. A bit more of that and I think ME3 can be even more amazing than ME2.

As long as they don't take a step back in terms of combat, the combat in this game was fantastic.

That's what I did :)

But... :( :

Spoiler
I lost Legion since I ordered him to hack the doors. Then after surviving the biotic barrier around us (that part where you choose someone to create a biotic field), Grunt was killed. :( Will this happen even if I reload? I don't want him to die DAMMIT!

End-game decisions:
Spoiler
You need upgraded armor, gun and shields for the Normandy for everyone to survive that first part. Then, assuming everyone is loyal to you, you have to pick the correct people for certain positions. Even if you pick the right people and they aren't loyal, you'll still lose someone.

For the first part:
Tali or Legion as the tech role.
Miranda, Garrus or Jacob as the team two leader.

Second:
Samara, Morinth or Jack as the biotic role.
Miranda, Jacob or Garrus as team leader.
Any loyal party member as the escort.

Before the battle on the platforms/final boss fight, if you pick "We'd better hurry" then you have to run through that portion of the mission in a certain amount of time or else some of the people you left behind to guard the door will die.

If you do the above and the selected party members are loyal, you
Spoiler
shouldn't lose anyone.

Only problem in this game with the combat. No manual crouch. Every game that has shooting should have it in some way, shape, or form. There is no way to justify its absence, but I can forgive them if they say it just slipped their mind or something.

that mission is that nobody died for me...except Tali, come on! the one character I wanted to survive the most and BioWare comes in and says "[censored] you!" and rips her away!

Hmm. I see. What about this:
Spoiler

Legion was loyal, yet he still died. I put Zaed as the leader (not loyal) and no one died in that part, apart from Legion.

Then I took Grunt and Samara with me, with Miranda the biotic leader. Zaed leader of other team. Grunt and Zaed died. I don't care that Zaed died, but Grunt died! Everyone's loyal except for Zaed and Miranda.

This time I won't take Grunt with me (second part).

Try a vangaurd, no fun at all, thinking of going as a sentinal next...Probobally going to make the same choices, even down to my LI, dont know why but most choices didnt realy require much thought from me, seemed obvious which was bad and good.
