Finally got the Widow but it's kinda crappy in Gold battles, where you don't seem to be able to take down more than one enemy defense at a time. It's just pathetic compared to Overload + Geth Shotty combo I've been using so far. Using Geth Engineer and maxed out weapon bonuses I take any Cerberus enemy from Assault Trooper to Phantom with one shot, which is quite nice.
Black widow will fix this since allowing 3 shots means you can kill anyone in a blink. Just gotta aim straight...

Finished a gold battle against Geth and I got over 30,000 points more than the rest, rarely do so good. I do lead 2/3 Gold fights I play but the difference is usually marginal.

Also ran into a bug where I couldn't deal any damage and I could take no damage. Playing as Krogan Vanguard I shot and punched everything but they didn't take damage. It wasn't connection messing with me since others got kills just as usual and waves went on. Had to quit, which I almost never do in middle of a fight, but I don't want to just stand there while others do the work. Some Husks came to me while the Marauders ignored me, but the Husks neither jumped on me nor did damage. Just stood there and punched me once a while. Couldn't use Biotic Charge either.

I had a bug like that last week. Same thing - could still see the other people running around and fighting stuff, but it didn't seem to want to register what I was doing. Even walked up to an Atlas and tried to melee it over and over. It ignored me. After a few waves, I finally ran into something that would melee me and let it kill me. Got revived by another player, and soon after the game started noticing me again. Not sure if there's a connection, of course. Could have just been timing.

Its a connection thing, more like your time back and forth, its sort of recognising your there but its not, it was common in WOW, and lots of other weird connection problems, but it looks more like they have slow servers. In WOW you could see your connection speed, it would look fine because the data hadnt caught up to you yet then suddenly it would drop off, but after the first few times you got to work out what was causing the problems.

Quarian are less happy with you, and it's believed to affect the ease with which one can get the quarian/geth peace ending to the rannoch missions. When it comes to war assets, it gives a minor bonus to either the geth or the quarians ('bout 150 I think), changes a few dialogue lines, etc.

Possibly. Despite claims by some, there is no complete understanding of how the game determines whether shepard can sucessfully get the peace option. Both Tali and Legion need to be alive for peace to occur, but outside of that, things are more muddled. For best results, keep legion and Tali alive and loyal in ME2, don't let Tali get exiled, save Admiral Koris, and complete all Rannoch missions. Also, your reputaiton bar should be as close to maxed out as possible for that point in the game.

I don't think it affects the actual, in-game decision but as a long term storyline decision destroying the heretics is the smart thing since it will erase all memories of the Reapers from the Geth. If you rewrite them, the Geth will retain the fond memories of supremacy and may turn against Organics again in the future.

It's got 3 bullets in a clip instead of 1.

...which in Gold fights is important since you can't make single-shot kills in Gold unless the enemy has only one layer of defense (thus you can kill a Cannibal but not a Marauder)

That that was part of the guns objective, to fire more shots before reloading, the second part was not to reduce the guns stopping power but it does. I'm pretty sure the Black Widow is less accurate as well

Least you get more XP right? Everytime the host leaves it boots me to the main menu - unless these people have that poor a connection that I'm the host

War asset wise - Destroying the heretics will make the geth weaker and the Quarians stronger post peace or destruction in ME3 as there won't have been so many geth attacking the Quarians. It also makes the ME3 geth server mission unnecessary. Rewriting them makes the geth stronger and the Quarians weaker in ME3 unless you do the server mission.

Two idiotic experiences with the Geth Plasma Shotgun in Gold battles (only play Gold)

1. Firebase fight and Geth, I play with two infiltrators and one biotic. I butcher most of the enemies with Overload+Shotty combo and land 50,000 points while the rest get 20,000-30,000. I'm no kill stealer, I just have good upgrades and can kill anything under a Prime with one shot.
With the match taking only 25 minutes we decide to take another round. But what's this?
Two other guys took their Plasma shotties as well.
Hah. I don't know whether I should laugh or cry. So this one guy does well with a specific gun and then everyone copycats him. I'd say it's more about strategy, I don't duck behind the walls and hit whoever has the least health, I run around the room and charge every shot and focus on the enemies behind the front lines using the Shotty's guidance system.

2. Firebase and Geth again, this time there is me with my Plasma Shotty III and another Geth Eng with Plasma Shotty IV. However, I again score tens of thousands more (in fact the other engineer landed only about 20,000 and was the last). We go to a next fight and I'm feeling optimistic so I fire up my Shotgun Damage Boost III which I had been saving for a special occasion.
Again I butcher near everyone and after 3 waves the other Engineer (who is the host) apparently goes a little funny in his head, goes solo and runs where the Geth are coming from, hoping to score a few himself. He gets his ass handed to him, runs to me and runs around for a few secs... And then quits.... Way to go hero. If only your username was not unintelligible randomness I'd contact you just to tell how lousy that was. The rest of us died by wave 6, which we all apparently expected since we didn't waste Medi-Gel when we fell. I sometimes do badly in Gold, sometimes I get less score than the others but I never, EVER quit in middle of the fight. Not even if there is only three of us.

The special packs are for a limited time. Should you have scrolled down the info screen of the Premium Spectre Pack, you'd have seen the time limit. I bought my last one when there was like 10 minutes remaining

No Geth Eng but the only time I tried my Widow in MP had us all 4 playing Infiltrators with Widows, 3 Geth and 1 Quarian Suffice to say, we failed.

When you say Firebase, what map are you referring too? They're all called Firebase.
